Chapter 67: A Celebration
"Teacher."
Sharon stopped nearly five or six meters away from the blonde red-eyed woman, sat down on her knees, and bowed in a dignified manner.
"How did you feel during this time?" The blonde woman asked with a slight smile that seemed gentle, too standard to make her look like a ragdoll in a shop window, but with an inexplicable sense of weirdness.
"I'm too weak." Sharon replied without hesitation.
"Strength is not only about power, magic is the science and art of changing things through one's own will*, and a strong enough will can burst out with power beyond imagination in many cases." The blonde woman looked a little helpless, but there was a calm in her eyes that bordered on compassion, but when you looked closely, there seemed to be a suppressed flame hidden deeper.
"But I'm not asking about that."
"I want to ask you what kind of person you think of that Miss Poyesia, or Mr. Hashim." The blonde, red-eyed woman voiced her problem in a declarative tone.
Sharon thought quietly for a long time before she spoke.
"She's the complete opposite of us." Her words sounded a little solemn.
"The Order of the Remnant of Sin is indeed the complete opposite of us." The blonde woman sighed faintly.
Sharon looked at the blonde woman with red eyes with some confusion.
"You haven't been to Rune, and you haven't been exposed to anything related to the Remnant Order," the blonde red-eyed woman said, "but the Remnant Order was also active in the Southern Continent a long time ago. โ
"At the beginning of the Fifth Age, when I first became a dependent, there were still some members of the Remnant Sin Order on the Southern Continent," the blonde woman with red eyes brought a little reminiscence, "At that time, I thought it was very strange, some people defended the rule of the Byron Empire, some people were helping us overthrow the rule of the Byron Empire, and some people were indifferent to our struggle and acted diametrically opposite, but they were all members of the Sin Remnant Order. โ
"He answered my doubts."
"For the people of the Order of the Remnant, the pursuit of lust is the most important thing, and the rest is something to be discarded for them. For those outside of them, their behavior sometimes seems scary and incomprehensible. โ
"From the time I learned their teachings, I knew that we could never be companions with them."
"Sure enough, after the tide of rebellion against the rule of the Byran Empire subsided, the diametrically opposed doctrines became the trigger for the conflict between us and them," the blond-haired and red-eyed woman's voice softened slightly, "at first it was just one or two people, but the situation soon expanded. โ
Sharon's eyes widened slightly, looking at the blonde red-eyed woman.
"Before it developed into a confrontation between sects, they took the initiative to retreat, I don't know where they went, only that they disappeared in the Southern Continent."
"The reason is clearโfor them, such a fight is completely meaningless, and it does not help to fulfill their desires," the blonde, red-eyed woman's voice was calm, but the content of her words was a little self-deprecating, "It's ridiculous, obviously we advocate moderation." โ
"For many years after that, they were absent from the southern continent, until Russell reopened the shipping route between the northern and southern continents."
"They showed up with Rune's army, but as they had done at the beginning, they didn't fully support the colonists."
"But it's different from back thenโthey seem to be more desperate, most of the time they are more gentle, and they choose to solve problems more often than extraordinary powers, but sometimes they seem more extreme than they did at the beginning of the Fifth Age."
"They haven't been active in the Southern Continent for long," the blonde woman with red eyes said slowly, "Nearly one hundred and eighty years ago, they withdrew from the Southern Continent due to their own internal problems, and most of the members no longer operate here. โ
"Are we still in touch with them?" Sharon asked.
"Yes," the red-eyed blonde woman affirmed, "but the focus of our contact with the North and South Continents after the opening of the North and South Continents is not on them. โ
There was a hint of doubt in Sharon's eyes.
The blonde woman smiled and looked at the fine shredded hair on Sharon's sideburns, and the fingers on her legs moved, but in the end she didn't make any moves.
"It doesn't matter," she said, "you just need to know that the young lady is an apostle of the Order of the Remnant of Sins." โ
-----------------
Agnes descended the staircase made of boulders.
The glow on the horizon was tinged with a hint of blood red, and the emerald green in the shadows of the mid-mountain looked extremely deep.
The square below seems to have just begun to hold a special celebration, of course, only for the people of the northern continent.
Agnes saw the people happily digging through the ground on the edge of the square, digging one after the other, neatly surrounding the square.
Agnes saw people happily burying their dead children in graves, along with all sorts of funerary goods, bowls, flutes, incense burners, and even a recently dead puppy. The children's bodies seemed to have been treated and looked clean and tidy, but they still showed varying degrees of decay.
Agnes saw that the people had packed up everything and then played the piano and sang with joy.
"Are we really alive on earth?
"I will not live forever; Just a short stay.
"Even jade, it will be crushed;
"Even gold is crushed;
"Even the feathers of the feathered serpent were torn apart.
"I will not live forever; Just a short stay. *โ
There was a slight sound of footsteps behind her, and Agnes withdrew her gaze from the plaza below and looked back.
Sharon stopped and looked at the plaza below.
"The people of the Southern Continent have always believed that children who have died in infancy cannot return to the underworld," she said softly, "and they must go through a specific ritual to be accepted by the underworld." โ
"It's something to be happy about for them, something to celebrate with a celebration."
Agnes nodded and whispered, "It's indeed something to celebrate." โ
"This kind of celebration can only be done in a few cities." Sharon retracted her gaze from below, her blue eyes fixed on Agnes.
"This is only possible in places that are not controlled by Intis, Rune, Fursack, Fenerport, and not affected by the warlords."
"I couldn't have a celebration like this in the place where I was born." Sharon said calmly.
Agnes paused for a moment.
"The teacher wants to see you." Sharon looked at Agnes.
"I see."
Agnes nodded.
