032. Conversation with Dumbledore
Magical items?
Scott looked down at the pile of debris on the ground.
The magic of many magic items is not very relevant to the magic of its user, which undoubtedly makes it more difficult to find the perpetrator.
Just then, there was a commotion outside the Quidditch pitch.
Scott looked up to see Headmaster Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall walking from the lawn outside the court, followed by a large group of students watching the excitement.
Because the commotion just now is indeed not small.
Not to mention an explosion over the court, Cho Chang violated the ban and flew into the castle on a broomstick, and before anyone who saw it could react, she rushed straight into Professor Flitwick's office and flew out with him.
By now, probably most of Hogwarts already knows, something big has happened on the Quidditch pitch.
"Filius." Dumbledore called out Professor Flitsch's name from afar, "What happened?" ”
"Oh, you're here!" Professor Flitwick beckoned back, "Albus, Minerva, you all come and see." ”
Headmaster Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall walked over quickly, following Professor Flitwick's instructions to look at the pile of debris on the ground.
"What is this?" Professor McGonagall's eyes widened in surprise, "Broomsticks? ”
Professor Flitwick nodded, "That's right, Davis' broomstick exploded just now. Luckily, Trolope noticed something was wrong with the broom in advance. ”
Then, he gave Scott a harsh blow up by telling what had happened.
"Amazing." Dumbledore winked at Scott, "May I call you Scott, Mr. Trollope." ”
Scott smiled politely at him, "Of course, Mr. Headmaster." ”
Dumbledore smiled as well, "Oh boy, I wish you could call me Professor Dumbledore." ”
He was kind to Scott, "I gotta say, I've heard of you for a long time, Scott. In case you don't know, many professors have complimented you in their conversations, especially Professor Flitwick and Professor McGonagall. ”
Scott didn't engage in modesty and shyness, but smiled confidently and said, "That's my pleasure." ”
Although this was the first time he had spoken to Dumbledore, he knew that it was unnecessary to disguise himself in front of the old man.
His intuition told him that the old man's smart blue eyes could easily see through the true temperament of most people. It wasn't the magic of the dementors, but the experience, the wisdom, and the perception of magic.
In particular, the perception of magic is well understood by Scott himself.
"You are indeed a very good student, and you deserve praise for your actions in the face of the unexpected." Dumbledore sighed, "But unfortunately, since Professor Flitwick has already added fifty points for you, I can't add more points to you." ”
He winked playfully at Scott again before crouching down to scrutinize the pile of broomstick scraps.
"Did you find anything, Filius?" He asked Professor Flitwick.
"It's a magic item!" Professor Flitwick repeated his conclusions.
"You're right."
Dumbledore picked up a piece of sawdust and crushed it on his fingers, then took it into his mouth as the students stared at him in amazement.
"Hmm...... It's the smell of a curse. He smacked his lips as if he had tasted a candy.
Scott watched the scene from the sidelines and was also surprised.
Dumbledore would always do something unexpected, so it's no wonder that some people thought he was an old madman.
But Scott also understands that the greatest wizard of our time doesn't go out of his way to do anything sensational.
Some of his actions do seem insane and incomprehensible, and that's only because the average wizard can't imagine his magical prowess.
However, Scott did not worry that his secret would be revealed when he met Dumbledore face-to-face.
Because magic is a spiritual force.
He thought what he had done to the three pure-blood witches before was a prank at best. As long as there were no flaws in his heart, Dumbledore couldn't see any clues.
He even thinks that the same is true of dark magic, and wizards with strong hearts are not easily affected by dark magic.
He didn't believe that Dumbledore didn't know how to use dark magic. It's just that it may not have been studied in depth.
Dumbledore and Voldemort are two wizards, and it may not be clear who is stronger and who is weak in terms of magic alone, but Scott feels that Dumbledore's mind must be much stronger than Voldemort's.
"This happened!"
Eddie squeezed in from outside the crowd.
"Roger, looks like you're going to buy a new broomstick!" He deliberately joked to Roger.
"Maybe that's a good thing?" Roger laughed too, "This saves me from having to make excuses to ask my dad for gold galleons for a broom." ”
"What kind of broom are you going to change?" Eddie leaned over to Roger, "How's Halo 2001?" ”
"I don't think my dad would be that generous."
Roger and Eddie laughed a little and seemed to be in a better mood.
Just then, Dumbledore stood up.
"Mr. Davis." He asked Roger, "I want to know, where was your broomstick before this?" ”
"In the dorm, Professor." Roger replied.
Professor Flitwick said, "I need to go to your dorm, Davis. ”
"Go ahead, I've got some information." Dumbledore said kindly, "But I'm sure your Professor Flitwick will take care of this." ”
He stretched and said comfortably, "As for me, I'm sorry, it's my fixed tea time every day." ”
Professor McGonagall looked at him disapprovingly, "Albus! ”
"Oh, don't worry, Minerva." Dumbledore smiled lightly, "We'll just have to wait for the results." ”
"Well, I hope you're right, Albus." Professor McGonagall compromised.
"Let's go, we might find some clues in your dorm." Professor Flitwick led his students out of the court.
At this time, most of the students who did not have classes in the school have probably gathered here. The liveliness of the course is almost as lively as the official Quidditch match.
Rumors of what had happened had already spread among the students, who were all talking about the broomstick explosion on the day of the takeoff.
Scott: They walked through the crowd after Professor Flitwick as if they were being welcomed in the middle of the road.
"Hey! Roger! ”
Fred and George squeezed into the front row of the crowd.
Fred grinned and waved, "Lucky that broomstick didn't blow up your ass!" ”
"Hey!" Roger glared at them viciously, "Don't tell me, that's your prank!" ”
"Of course not us!" George glared with an innocent expression.
"If it's us......" Fred touched his chin and his eyes lit up.
"We're not going to let the broom smoke." George went on to say, "When the broom explodes, it just blows up your pants!" ”
"That's it!" Fred gave a thumbs up, "That's a great idea." Thank you, Roger! ”
"Two schadenfreating bastards!"
Roger didn't want to pay any more attention to them, and walked forward angrily.
