189. Toy fireplaces and LANs
Another night arrived, and Scott was alone on the top floor of the Astronomy Tower.
It didn't take long for a dark shadow to swoop down from the sky at a breakneck speed.
It was Rimbaud, who came back on time.
Scott stretched out his arm.
The speed of Rimbaud's dive slowed down abruptly as he approached Scott.
Its wide wings flapped, and the flapping wind ruffled Scott's hair.
"Good evening, my friend!"
Rimbaud greeted as he slowly stopped on Scott's arm.
"Good evening." Scott looked at it with a smile, "Welcome back to Hogwarts, Rimbaud." ”
Rimbaud said proudly, "Of course, what you asked me to do has already come to fruition. ”
Scott looked left and right, "Let's get out of here and go somewhere where to talk." ”
Rimbaud agreed.
So Scott whispered a few more words to it, let it fly again, and turned away from the top of the tower.
It wasn't long before Scott appeared on the first floor, and he made his way through several corridors to the uninhabited grass next to the Quidditch pitch.
As he sat down, Rimbaud fell from the sky again and landed in front of him.
"Now I can say it."
Scott looked at Rimbaud.
He asked it, "Katie?" Shafiq, what kind of witch is she? ”
"Oh, she's a boring witch."
Rimbaud said angrily.
"It's so boring, she's a serious and old-fashioned young woman, so meticulous both at work and in private."
Rimbaud flapped his wings and complained.
"I'd say observing this witch is the most boring thing I've ever done!"
"Okay, sorry."
Scott reached out and smoothed it.
"So is there anything else worth noting about her? Or who have you been in contact with? ”
Rimbaud nodded, "She did contact someone once, but I'm sorry, I have no way of knowing who she contacted." ”
"What's wrong? You can track the owl that delivers the message, right? Scott asked curiously.
"She didn't send a letter with an owl!"
Rimbaud flapped his wings and said with some excitement.
"You can't guess what she's using to deliver the message!"
"yes, I can't guess."
Scott said very simply.
"Uh......"
Rimbaud's movements froze.
Scott pleaded casually, "Well, please tell me, my best friend." ”
"Okay, okay." Rimbaud folded his wings, "She used the fireplace to send the message, presumably through the Floo Net." ”
Scott realized, "She happens to work for the Floo Network Authority, and that's a good job. ”
But......
"Doesn't that seem worth your point of saying?" He asked curiously, "Didn't you hear the name of the place on the other side when she used the fireplace?" ”
"Oh, the main thing is that the witch's fireplace is different from anyone else's."
Rimbaud said with some surprise.
"On the desk in her room, there's a small fireplace toy, that fireplace isn't much bigger than your fist, but it can be used to pass notes."
"Is that so?" Scott nodded, "She took advantage of her position to connect the fireplace toy to Floo Net. ”
"That's not the point, either."
Rimbaud let out a few weird chuckles before continuing.
"The point is that I heard her say 'number 25' when she handed the note into the fireplace toy."
"Why didn't you see the note?" That was Scott's first reaction.
"Because I can't get too close, of course!"
Rimbaud flaps Scott's arm a few times with his wings.
"And that's not the point! That's not the point! ”
"Alright, alright."
Scott rubbed his arm that was hurt by it.
"I know the point." He said, "Shafiq may have used the fireplace toy to build a local area network in the Floo network supervised by the Ministry of Magic?" ”
Rimbaud exclaimed, "Didn't you hear me, she sent a message to 'number 25'!" By the way, what is a local area network? ”
"I know what you mean." Scott hurriedly reassured it, "Shafiq is in an organization, and this organization has at least 25 people. ”
"That's it!" Rimbaud nodded quickly.
"Thank you, Rimbaud." Scott looked at Raven earnestly, "But I need you to keep an eye on her." ”
"I don't want to do this job!" Rimbaud shook his head, "I told you, that's boring!" ”
Scott said, "I know you can recruit some other birds to work for you, don't you?" You can communicate with them. ”
"Is that so?" Rimbaud hesitated, "I can do that, but you know, they're not very smart. ”
"Of course, you are the smartest, and you can command them well."
Scott stroked its feathers again.
"As far as I know, wizards can talk through Floo.com. You've only seen her pass notes, and maybe the next time you'll hear her talking to someone using a toy fireplace. ”
"Why do I have a friend like you!" Rimbaud said angrily.
Scott stared into its eyes, "Please, Rimbaud, I want to find out who Shafiq's companions are." ”
He knew best whether Shafiq was at the behest of Medea or someone else.
"Okay, okay, I'm always soft-hearted!"
Rimbaud said angrily, flapping his wings and flying.
"Goodbye, Scott!"
It flew above Scott's head.
"Of course, I'll follow your advice and find some help!"
With that, it suddenly sped away at an accelerated pace.
Scott watched as it vanished and slowly stood up.
He slapped the grass clippings off his robes and turned to walk towards the castle.
A mini Floo network of toy fireplaces?
Scott thought the idea was interesting.
You can make calls, you can send notes, and it's almost a substitute for a desk phone.
Unfortunately, this approach is not something that everyone can emulate.
The construction of this communication system must be inseparable from Shafiq, who works for the Floo Network Administration.
Just as Scott was thinking about this, a sound suddenly came from above his head.
He raised his head and hurriedly reached out to catch a cardboard box that had fallen from the sky.
"Goo-Goo......
The owl, which had suddenly dropped the cardboard box, screamed and flew away quickly.
Scott looked down at the cardboard box in his hand, and there was always a sense of foreboding in his heart.
He took a deep breath, then turned around and walked back to the grass to sit down, unpacking the cardboard box.
Really......
He reached out and pulled out a small toy fireplace that appeared to be made of clay, a box of Floo powder, and a letter from the cardboard box.
Scott put the toy fireplace and Floo powder back in the carton and opened the blank envelope.
[Good evening, Scott.] ]
This handwriting......
Scott quickly recognized that the letter had been written by Medea herself.
