311. Dumbledore's inquiry
Snape and Scott arrived at the headmaster's office as fast as he could.
They entered through the entrance on the third floor and took the stone steps that automatically ascended to the eighth floor.
"Wait here!"
Snape glanced at Scott, pushed the door and walked in, closing it quickly.
Scott looked at the closed wooden door in front of him, turned and leaned against the railing next to the stone steps, and looked out of the castle through the glass window.
He guessed that Snape should have been reporting to Dumbledore about the Dark Mark's movements.
As for why you brought Scott here?
Scott himself felt that Snape probably couldn't do anything about himβhe couldn't really give Scott an Oblivion Charm, and he didn't want to explain the anomaly of the Dark Mark mark.
So he chose to throw Scott's trouble to Dumbledore to deal with.
The truth is pretty much what he thought.
The office door quickly opened again, and Snape stepped out of it.
"Come in, Mr. Trollope."
He didn't look as annoyed as he had just been, and even gave Scott a very fake smirk.
However, after saying this, the Potions Professor went straight up the sinking stone steps and left without looking back.
Scott sighed silently and took another deep breath before turning around and walking into the principal's office.
Dumbledore was sitting behind his large desk, and when he saw Scott, he had a kind smile on his face.
"Good afternoon, Professor Dumbledore." Scott offered to say hello.
"Good afternoon, Scott." Dumbledore beckoned to him, "Come and sit down, maybe we need to have a good talk." β
Scott nodded and sat down on a stool in front of his desk.
"Would you like something to drink?"
Dumbledore reached out and snapped his fingers, and an empty porcelain cup appeared in front of Scott.
"Tea is fine, no need to add sugar, thank you." Scott said.
"Oh well, don't you like sugar." Dumbledore said with some regret.
He snapped his fingers again, and steaming black tea appeared in the porcelain cup in front of Scott.
"Thank you." Scott took a sip from his teacup, "yes, I'm not a big fan of sweets. β
"It's a pity." Dumbledore took a sip from his cup and smacked his lips, "I'm going to share the delicious cockroach pile with you." β
Scott smiled and said, "You might as well keep it for yourself." β
"It's fine." Dumbledore nodded slightly.
Scott buried his head in his tea.
After a few more moments, Dumbledore said with interest, "It seems that you are not too curious about what happened to Severus. β
Scott nodded, "Yes, Professor, I don't usually have much curiosity about other people's things. β
"It's normal." Dumbledore smiled and said, "There are a lot of Ravenclaw students who are just like you. β
Scott doesn't deny it, either, "Yes, we're not as enthusiastic as Gryffindor and Hufflepuff, and we're more inclined to keep our distance when it comes to relationships between people. β
"So do you think that's good or bad?" Dumbledore asked curiously, as if he were genuinely curious about it.
Scott thought for a moment and replied, "It doesn't matter if it's good or bad for me, everyone has their own way of survival, and it's okay to choose the way that's most comfortable for you." β
"You're right, everyone is different." Dumbledore smiled and said, "Yes, everyone can choose their own way of survival, of course, provided that they don't hurt others, right?" β
Scott nodded again, "You're right. β
Dumbledore seemed to be in a good mood and had been acting happily.
He picked up his cup again and took a sip of the black tea in his cup, which might have been extraordinarily thick because of too much added sugar.
Then he whispered again, "It seems that Severus's worries are unnecessary, and I don't need to say anything to you, do I?" β
Scott nodded again, "Of course, I'll keep it a secret. β
He paused, and then said, "Although in my perception, the magic that suddenly appeared on Professor Snape's arm is very evil, since you naturally trust him, then it means that Professor Snape has no problem. β
"Thank you for trusting me, Scott." Dumbledore said in a happy tone.
Scott laughed, "Most people at Hogwarts trust you, but you're Dumbledore. β
"You used the word 'most.'" Dumbledore's tone became a little regretful, "It seems that I, the Headmaster, have not done enough. β
Scott only shrugged his shoulders at his stupid behavior, "After all, education is a responsibility that needs to be shared by both the school and the family." β
"Oh! I feel so much better to hear you say that. Dumbledore was happy again.
Scott was about to say goodbye when he suddenly asked, "So do you know what the anomaly on Severus' arm represents?" β
Scott was about to put down his teacup when he paused.
He really didn't expect the old headmaster to suddenly talk to him about this again.
But it was not a good choice to blindly pretend to be stupid in front of the old headmaster, so he replied directly, "Probably on behalf of the Dark Lord...... Voldemort regained some strength, I guess. β
"Yes, we all know that Voldemort didn't really disappear, he made Horcruxes." Dumbledore muttered, "He could come back at any moment." β
Scott gently lowered his teacup and listened to what he was almost talking to himself.
Dumbledore didn't ask Scott how he connected Snape's arm anomaly to Voldemort.
He asked Scott again in a curious tone, "I want to ask you, Scott, what do you think about this?" β
Scott glanced at the old headmaster with some surprise.
Dumbledore looked at him with encouraging eyes, "As an old man, I want to hear the thoughts of young people, especially those as smart as you. β
Scott still chose to tell the truth: "Although Voldemort has regained some strength, what he should be most worried about now is Medea's coveting of his soul. β
"Oh? Ms. Slytherin? Dumbledore seemed surprised at the name he mentioned.
But Scott was sure that Dumbledore, as Headmaster of Hogwarts, was aware of Medea's need for Voldemort's soul.
It all started with the vow Medea made with Hogwarts Castle.
Before the real Ravenclaw disappeared, she had an exchange with the current Headmaster Dumbledore, and the oath was signed by Ravenclaw on behalf of Hogwarts, at least she would give an explanation to future generations.
Scott didn't know why Dumbledore was discussing this with him, but he didn't object to it.
It just so happened that the news that Voldemort had regained some of his strength could also be passed on to Medea.
He glanced at the wall next to him with the rest of his eyes, and replied to Dumbledore, "Yes, Miss Ravenclaw told me about Medea's vows with Hogwarts Castle. β
