Act VIII: Crossing the Door (3)
The surrounding gray wilderness is full of strange magic, and perhaps the soul has left many ambiguous traces when it passes through this place in the depths of the spiritual world to the real world. Pen % fun % Pavilion www.biquge.info
And as William Coulter made his way to the distant gate in this barren wilderness, it was also evident that they had left something behind in the vast expanse of the land. While they are unrecognizable to the naked eye, they do maintain a connection with something far away.
It was then that he suddenly realized that he was uncontrollably approaching the silver door in the distance, and under the guidance of the bold and strange way of thinking of the magician, he seemed to have passed through the distance of almost several worlds, and saw the towering wall that separated each other.
Even now, however, he felt too ignorant to comprehend the message of the magician preaching. He didn't know where it was, or how to find his way, so he could only follow Dr. Coulter.
Much younger, he walked through the wilderness without looking back, while repeating wonderful words as if performing some kind of ritual. At the same time, he was holding a piece of metal the size of a fingernail in his hand...... Frick remembers where he had seen it.
- It was a piece of metal that Eric Hothka kept as a treasure.
Frick didn't know how William Coulter got his hands on it, but it might have a special role in such a location away from the material world and close to the deep spiritual gates. Frick, however, wasn't sure what kind of place it would take them.
From time to time, the surrounding wilderness would flash with strange scenes, as if they had been excavated from the depths of their own nightmares. Words alone could not describe the strange things, and some unimaginable horror surrounded the two of them, looking at the two of them with fierce eyes.
"Don't pay too much attention to those things. ”
Kurt, who was ahead of him, said slowly: "Some sages who have explored this world have written in their records, do not be fooled by shallow phantoms. They are beasts that lurk in your own mind, and if they are allowed to affect your mind, it can be costly. ”
The phantom that appeared in his eyes may have been different from Frick's, but he didn't bother at all, but stared at the metal piece intently. He acts as a guide, leading Frick on a wasteland that constantly emerges visions.
The apparitions that had been excavated from memory had been distorted, gradually losing their clear outlines and turning into a series of indistinct chaos. The tangled chaos flashed around them, and some of the fused "creatures" even tried to attack them.
However, Frick is well aware that these things are merely illusions extracted and distorted from memories and imaginations, and do not pose a real threat. However, he felt that those phantoms were not completely distorted illusions, but special information that had penetrated into his consciousness from the deep spiritual world.
They surrounded the two of them, and they were constantly catalyzed by some kind of force into many strange symbols and special symbols that he could not understand. Maybe it's not just him, as long as a person with a normal mind probably can't understand these grotesque forms that continue to extend in fantasy.
It was no longer the space they knew it to be, and time was perhaps passing at a different speed than the material world, surpassing all the common sense that Frick had in the past. He didn't want to...... Or rather, they dare not stare at the illusions woven in the hidden world, for fear of being eroded by them if they are not careful.
Perhaps Dr. Coulter had seen in his previous mistakes that there were beings alive in the abyss of this world. Therefore, after returning to the real world, it is still difficult for him to escape their influence, and his body in the material world becomes more and more fragile.
At this moment, the phantom that appeared in front of them seemed to constitute an absurd carnival, and the ethereal form and the only subtle undulating wasteland constituted a spectacle of illusion. This is not just Frick's own memory, all the fragments of thought that have been precipitated in the shallow spiritual world have been connected.
It sits between the individual spiritual world and the shallow spiritual world of the vast area, and the potions and Rubik's Cubes prepared by William Coulter caused them to fall into this wasteland. As for the others, perhaps they are still wandering a little distance from this world.
"They should now be lost on the shores of light sleep until someone can find a guide. Perhaps reading Frick's thoughts, the sorcerer casually said, "It's a terrible creature, and only a proper contract will lead them into the wasteland where the door is located." ”
As recorded in ancient texts such as the Book of Shane, those who wish to venture beyond their own world to peek into this "book" will encounter that guide. Those who wish to provide services to the guide should be as cautious as possible when dealing with them.
They live on the steamy shores, sipping the pain of all living things as a result of their nightmares, and silently waiting for the dreamers to arrive. Although those who enter the dream exploration call these creatures "guides", almost all of them know that they are extremely dangerous beings, guarding the keys to the treacherous places in the depths of the dream realm, and feeding on the grief of living creatures.
It has never been cost-effective to trade with them, because they are beasts that watch over the mystical gates, breeding on the decay of spirit and matter. And if you want to avoid them, in addition to beware of the beasts lurking in the virtual image, you must also risk your way through a world where there are no signs to follow.
He wanted to keep the pesky uninvited guests out of the way, perhaps they would be able to enter the world of dreams with the help of potions, but it would be almost impossible for them to be willing to trade with those obnoxious creatures...... Until then, they need to look for them along the gray coastline.
As for the place they have set foot in, it is already a world that only a handful of past philosophers have visited—Dr. Coulter declared in a conclusive tone. In that distant, almost incomprehensible time, the sages finally stepped into the void beyond all else through it.
They walked through the doors, through all the worlds, and finally witnessed the stealthy observers who had gazed at the planet since time immemorial. They were once creatures that inhabited the planet, but before the oldest known civilization was established, they left the ruins that represented a thriving past.
Few of those who have ever passed through this door have been able to return to their world, so the vast amount of knowledge and information behind the door is still covered in darkness. There are things that lurk in the infinite darkness, knowledge that is considered taboo, and many inexplicable truths.
In fact, Frick didn't care what kind of truth existed behind the door, because it was only the mystery that William Kurt had spent his life searching for. In contrast, his professional habits always urge him to record the visions reflected in the surrounding wasteland.
As the two approached the silver door at the end of the earth, the apparitions around them became more numerous, and they surged forward with their steps. Faintly a small noise can be heard, and this absurd scene is almost a grand event.
Frick was sure that the ever-changing phantoms around him came from all the fragments of his memory that were hard to reach, so even if Dr. Kurt told him not to pay too much attention to it, he couldn't curb his curiosity. This holiday parade of apparitions may not be as detailed as the streets of the mythological era seen at the time, but the wide range of sources fills the illusion with many unimaginable illusions.
They are presumably related to many ancient memories that have been forgotten by the world long before the distant eons of time, most of which have been shattered to the point of being illegible. It was probably a time when none of the ancestors of humanity had ever been born, and some of the most primitive monstrous creatures were still wriggling slowly in the cold gray liquid.
Marvelous creations were transformed into incredible scenes in his eyes, and these things might only appear on the edge of irrational nightmares. The wonderful scenery is filled with many never-before-seen flowers and trees, and in a trance it is as if they actually grow on the hills and mountains of the wasteland.
Among the many overlapping illusions, the most striking sights are, of course, those that are typically man-made—a marvellous architectural technique that apparently did not come from human hands. No buildings have been found in a similar style, either stylistically or structurally.
Densely stacked matchbox-like houses lurk beneath the surface, fish with twisted hands and feet set up markets in the shadows of the reef, thousands of sky-high towers are built on the sun-scorched desert, and winged creatures swoop down from the sky in formation.
There seemed to be no connection between the sights, and he had never seen similar buildings or similar creatures, as if they had nothing to do with the era in which he lived. This is a limitation that he cannot break through, and it is difficult to grasp the special meaning from the changing scene.
Always remember that you are only an observer, not a participant, and that you should never dance with false illusions or be influenced by them. Following William Coulter's teachings, Frick observes the ever-changing illusion while keeping up with the sorcerer.
I don't know how long it took for them to finally reach the door.
