【Warriors】1st Quarter Regulus (Middle)
Two days later, Regulus rode alone on a fast horse, escaped the pursuit of Wally's own troops, and arrived at the headquarters of the elven army in Santan, north of Saint-Tier. He wore a red robe instead of the emerald green armor worn by the soldiers, which made him stand out from the crowd. He had a book with a thick brown cover under his arm, and a silver headband on his head, as if his hair had not been looked at closely, as if it had not been for his long silver hair.
"Below you is Randolph Sulrim, Mick Deesman's entourage, you are the amazing advisor to the Human Army, and we have received your surrender. ”
"Those damn guys, I've been planning for them for ten years, but in the end they see me as a threat, and they want to kill me one by one, so it's wiser to take refuge in you. ”
"We've heard of your abilities for a long time, if you hadn't suddenly appeared ten years ago, the human rebels would have been defeated by us. We welcome you to come and work for us, but we have to ask you to surrender your weapons first. ”
"It's natural," Regulus offered to hand over his Excalibur, "but when will I go to see Mick Desman?"
"You'll have to wait a few days for this, Master Desman hasn't been seen lately, and I'll let you know when he can see you. ”
Regulus stayed in Santan for the time being, and to his surprise, at the behest of Randolph, he was treated with great hospitality by the elves, the first of its kind to the elves who had used humans as slaves for hundreds of years. The elves had their resistance and disgust written on their faces when they entertained Regulus, but Randolph Sulem often showed Regulus around town and told him about the organization of the elven army. Regulus felt that the handsome elf did not regard him as an enemy, nor did he have the contempt and disdain for humans that other elves had.
From Randolph, Regulus learns that the commander of this unit, Mick Desman, is the son of the Elven King Saurendor Desman. The Elven King had seven sons and one daughter, and his sons were all sent by him to manage the towns, and his teenage daughter, Alan Wen, was by his side. The lifespan of elves generally ranges from more than two hundred years to more than two thousand years, and the elves of the royal family are particularly long-lived, the elven king is now more than five hundred years old, and Randolph has just passed one hundred and twenty years old.
"You look like a hundred and twenty years old, you look younger than a twenty-year-old human!"
"The external manifestation of the elves is determined by the magic power in the body, the stronger the magic power, the less aging it will be, and when the magic power is exhausted, the appearance will change significantly, Lord Saurendor Desman is much more energetic than us!"
"So your magic isn't small!"
"Normal, average!" Randolph said with a smile, "but the strength of your advisor is unfathomable!"
"It's a pity that I followed the wrong master, those guys are blind and ungrateful!"
Regulus spent several days in Santan, but he never met Mick Desman, and he couldn't get close to the elven stronghold, let alone the slightest hint of Wally's "source of power" that produced the black light. In town, Regulus noticed that there were many elven mages working on adding magical powers to an ore called Oodrite, and the streets were constantly filled with horse-drawn carriages full of stones heading towards the city's fortresses. Regulus began to wonder if it had something to do with it, but he didn't long investigate before he reached a dead end, the mage's research had nothing to do with the warriors' amnesia madness, and they seemed to be trying to find a way to seal the animal's dead soul in order to add magic to the stone.
After a few more days, Regulus finally waited for his chance to meet Mick Desman. Randolph Serim himself came to fetch him, telling him that Mick was now ready to meet him, and that they were surrounded by a band of elven soldiers, and then marched towards the fortress. Along the way, Randolph repeatedly told Regulus about Mick Desman's personality and what he could and couldn't say. Regulus jotted down all of Randolph's suggestions, but they didn't come in handy at all, because Mick Desman couldn't hear anything he didn't want to hear.
What happened after entering the fortress, Regulus could not remember. All he remembered was that Randolph had sent him to the gate of the fortress, and told him to go in by himself, saying that Mick was already waiting inside. And when he entered the fortress, the next thing he could remember was to find him standing in the innermost room of the fortress, with a wide-eyed elf lying at his feet. He was dressed in a blood-stained white robe, redder than the one Randolph was wearing, and Regulus was holding his Excalibur in his hand, which was supposed to have been locked up by the elves, blood dripping down the blade and from the tip of the sword, standing in a pool of blood, bewildered.
"Is this Mick Desman?" thought Regulus, "how could he ...... Did I kill him? Why do I not remember at all? Shouldn't this sword have been taken by them? Could it be that my bloodthirsty nature as a god of war was unleashed by accident?"
Outside there was already a commotion, and Regulus guessed that the elves would soon arrive, and he would be at a loss for words. He tried to get out as soon as possible, but the room didn't even have a window, it was surrounded by hard stone walls, and the only entrance was the wooden door. He was about to flee through the wooden door, when it was slammed open from the outside, and Randolph Serim rushed in alone.
"Regulus, what's wrong? I hear screams inside......" Randolph's expression froze when he saw Mick Desman lying in a pool of blood, his eyes no longer beating, "Lord Desman!!"
"I didn't do it! I swear!" replied Regulus, "I don't remember anything since I entered the fortress! I must have put away this sword by you, I don't know where it is, and I don't have time to get it!"
Randolph frowned after hearing Regulus's defense, and then looked at Regulus: "You said you don't remember anything, did your warrior also suffer from amnesia before?"
"That's right, you mean ......"
"The amnesia and cannibalism that your warriors had before was not our doing, and we can't hide it, the same happened to our warriors, and now it's the same with you, Mick Desman died in front of you, I can be sure of my previous suspicions. ”
"What speculation?"
"There are inner ghosts among our high elves!"
"Inner ghost?"
"Yes, this guy is likely to be a Dark Elf man, lurking among us, using you as a scapegoat!"
"So what do I do now?"
"The evidence that you have killed Mick Desman is conclusive, and I know very little about the inner ghost, and if you are caught, there is no way to explain it. Randolph analyzed, "Well, you cut one of my arms and then kidnap me and get out of here." You can escape back to the Human Army, say you killed the Commander, regain their trust, and be my undercover agent. I'm sure you've got along with us these days, and humans aren't the enemies of our High Elves, and those Dark Elves who hide in the Abyss of Zeller are our enemies in common with humans. When you're safe, we'll find a way to get in touch and get that damn ghost out together!"
Regulus took Randolph's advice and held him hostage. He also returned to the Human Army on Randolph's instructions, and Randolph had always trusted him, but in fact he had surrendered in the first place. Although he never thought of assassinating the commander of the enemy army, this inner ghost who came out of nowhere by mistake also helped them a lot. The High Elves have temporarily withdrawn, and the human resistance army is relieved. Although he still can't remember the memory after entering the fortress, Regulus still wants to find out the inner ghost among the high elves, firstly, to repay Randolph's favor, and secondly, to prevent the dark elves from returning and bringing more disasters to humanity.
"Those damned dark elves, still restless after driving into the ground, isn't the punishment of 10,000 years ago enough?" thought to Regulus (Marrus).
