Chapter 41: Buying the Guardian
The clear blue sky began to dim, and Alina watched with tired eyes at the stars and the twin moons that were gradually appearing outside. Still, it's an ordeal, a torment that can't sleep. The half-elf girl began to understand the importance of sleep, and now her mind was a mess and sleepy, and her brain protested loudly and asked her to lie down on the soft bed, rest her head on the soft pillow, and fall asleep comfortably.
But she couldn't, nightmares awaited her, and Alina tried to close her eyes, but once she closed her eyes, she was bound to be unable to help but sleep, and then wake up from nightmares.
So she sat down at the head of the bed, hoping to get through it.
"Sister Christina said she wanted to compensate me by taking me out and going to a lot of great parties. She said to herself, hoping that talking about happy things would make her feel better, "A lot of friends? Ahh
She couldn't help but yawn a lot, and the happy thing not only didn't soothe the fatigue, but also made her feel more sleepy, and the half-elf girl felt her eyelids heavier.
"That's not going to work. She finally couldn't take it anymore, "That monster wants to trap me, I've got to find a way." β
So, she got out of bed, closed the carved curtains, took off Christina's dressing gown, folded it neatly, and put on her white dress. It happened to be her first dress, silver, which represented the beginning of her new life.
Elena made up her mind to ask Frogissa for help, and before leaving, she hesitated and took the ordinary-looking bracelet with her.
When the sun sets below the horizon, its afterglow lingers in the sky. At dusk, the academy has a special beauty, and on both sides of the road, the grass and the groves are filled with the cries of small creatures. Alina could still hear the sound of running water, but
She was in no mood to enjoy the beautiful scenery, because the quiet college made her miss her soft bed even more.
Froggisa's home was in the classroom area, some distance from her dormitory, and she had to cross the teaching area. The half-elves passed through a quiet intersection, where only a few figures remained in the daytime crossroads, and the students either went to the training ground to learn combat or studied in the study room.
There was a newsstand, the stone newsstand looked like an upside-down hat, and in the faint yellow light that came out of the newsstand, Alina felt that the only skinny student in front of the newsstand looked familiar. She suddenly remembered the words of the big-nosed blue vulture in the daytime, and wanted to buy a copy of The Guardian, so the silver-haired girl planned to try her luck.
She walked up to the newsstand, and the thin student next to her lowered his head, and Alina could not see his face, only that the fabric of his black school uniform was rough and faded from many washes, and he seemed to be holding some newspaper in his hand. She didn't care, and looked directly at the newsstand owner, a middle-aged man with a neat red beard, and his chubby body showed that he was living a good life.
"Is the Guardian here for sale?" asked the silver-haired girl.
"Nope. The newsstand owner smiled widely, "Of course not." β
Alina turned to leave, but suddenly caught a glimpse of the newspaper in the hand of the skinny student not far away. He seemed to be deliberately walking in the shadows to avoid something, but then there was a glimmer of light, and the silver-haired girl could see the big word "avant-garde" in his newspaper.
"I saw him with a copy of the Guardian in his hand. She turned around and said, "You must have the Guardian here for sale." β
"Honorable Miss, you have misunderstood. The newsstand owner looked a little nervous, "I only sell regular newspapers here, and there are absolutely no underground newspapers with vulgar content." β
But Alina didn't give up, she walked quickly to the thin male student not far away without saying a word, "Hi, classmate, please wait a minute." β
"Damn. Looking at his back as he stopped, the newsstand owner cursed in a low voice, "This kid Klundir is going to kill me." β
"Hello. Clendir turned to Alina with his head bowed, and said to Alina, "May I ask how I can help you?"
"Oh, it turned out to be you. Alina looked at Krendil a little strangely, and although he was a little taller than her, he seemed to be trembling, like a criminal in the dock, "Your name... Krendil?"
Crendil nodded, he looked up a little shyly, the beauty of the silver-haired girl made him feel very stressed, but the sight of her crystal green eyes made him feel much better. There was nothing in it that he fearedβpity, contempt, or anything else.
"Can you help me buy The Guardian?"
"Huh?" Cliffendil looked at her incredulously, "The Guardian?"
"Yes. β
"But," Krendil could not have imagined, and the goddess of his purity, who wanted to read the vulgar Guardian, chalked it up to curiosity, "the contents may not be suitable for you." β
"I just want to see it. She said, "Just as I was the reward for helping you move the books that day." β
Faced with her plea, Krendil could not refuse.
He nodded, and walked with Alina to the newsstand.
"Boss, give me a copy of The Guardian. β
The fat boss glared at him, leaving him baffled.
"How can this kiosk sell such underground newspapers?"
So Clendil thought he was going to shout a code, and his somewhat vegetable-colored face turned red for a moment, and finally he said quietly and clearly, "How can I not change my mind?"
The newsstand owner remained silent.
But Alina immediately understood that it was the boss who thought she was here to "investigate".
"You are mistaken. The half-elf girl stroked the hair around her ear, revealing her delicate pointed ears, "I just want to buy The Guardian." β
"So you're Miss Alina?" said the boss with a smile on his face, "I'm sorry, the Thorns Club has recently reported several newsstands selling The Guardian, so I'm a little nervous. β
Alina had heard of the Thorn Society, a club dedicated to wooing elite students, and most of its members were from prominent families, so it was no wonder that the newsstand owner was so wary of her.
"Then I want a copy of The Guardian. β
She pulled out a silver coin, and the boss smiled and said, "Miss Alina, a copy of the Guardian costs only five copper coins." In this case, I will take your money first, and you will order twenty servings. β
The half-elf girl took the newspaper, "Well, that's it. "Copper coins are a burden to her.
"Thank you, Krendil, I have to leave beforehand. She politely waved goodbye to Krendil.
The latter's right hand swung stiffly, "Goodbye, goodbye." β
Before he could finish speaking, he saw the nimble ponytail, and Clendir let out a low sigh and walked towards the study room.
Clendil was depressed, for his reason told him that he was not entitled to a little bit of the silver-haired girl, that he did not even deserve a single strand of her hair. But she was so beautiful, and when they first met, he felt like he was in a dream, and he felt as if another piece of his newly healed heart had been gouged out...
But Krendil was not alone, and on this night many sentimental girls looked at the moon in the sky or wept in the garden outside the window.
Because they heard the news of a beautiful elf mage holding hands with Frogissa and visiting the academy for an afternoon. The news spread like a night breeze to everyone's ears. It is said that some of the girls covered their faces with handkerchiefs in shame after witnessing her beauty beside Flogisa.
