Chapter 30: The Idol of Hera

Thrace, a neighbor of Macedonia, was known for its martial virtues and mercenaries during this era, as well as being a traditional ally of Athens.

Throughout the Greek era, the strongest city-states were Athens and Sparta, and the pattern of the entire Greek world revolved around the rivalry between Athens and Sparta, and the Greek city-states were allies of Sparta if they were not allies of Athens, with very few exceptions.

Princess Eginia is passionate about Hercules and his party, not only because of Hercules' status as a mercenary, but also because of Hercules' status as the son of Zeus, who is a warrior and a hero, synonymous with strength and victory.

"Who the hell are you?" Hercules sat on the chariot with the reins in his hand, his eyes fixed on the front, but his attention remained on William.

"I, who do you ask me? I? Nothing, a leaf swept into a whirlpool, maybe a feather in the wind."

"There are many leaves and feathers in this world, and they have enough of them, and it may not be possible to count the leaves and feathers in this world in a lifetime, I just want to know which leaf and which feather you are."

"I've told you."

"Tell me what?

"I am the son of Hercules, the god of Hercules, and Heber, the goddess of youth, and my name is William, and I have told you all this."

"I don't want to hear lies, I just want to hear the truth. The whole Greeks say that I am the son of Zeus, but I know that I am not."

"That's the truth."

William's answer silenced Hercules, a child who was astonishingly stubborn, but he was definitely not an ordinary man, let alone an admirer of children he had met on the streets of Athens.

"I killed two of my sons, just three years ago, and my wife among them." Hercules didn't want to talk about it, and that night three years ago was the last thing he wanted to remember, and the memory that hurt him the most.

He had always wanted to be a good husband and a good father, but in the end he had stifled his desire that he should die at the Citizens' Judgment Assembly so that he could end his suffering. Z.br>

As the king of Athens said, letting him live is a more cruel punishment than letting him die.

Hercules' son had long since died, and his wife had died, and where did William's son come from.

"Do you believe Zeus exists?" William asked, he understood what Hercules was saying, and understood that if Hercules really recognized him as his son, he needed some evidence, some evidence that Hercules could not quibble.

"I believe it." Hercules said, "Not just I believe, but everyone believes in the existence of Zeus."

"And does the goddess Hera exist?" William then asked.

"Of course." Hercules' tone was particularly firm, and the legend that Hercules was the son of Zeus was based on rumors, and the rumors were also based on facts.

"Where's Heber?" After William finished speaking, Hercules had a puzzled expression on his face, and he hesitated for a moment before he said, "Heber also exists."

"You think I'm going to orchestrate the reputation of an unmarried goddess at random in a world where gods exist." William's rhetorical question stunned Hercules, and then he continued, "I am the son of Hercules and Heber, it's true, I am the future son of Hercules."

William generously admits that he has always said that he is the son of Hercules, and has not said to Hercules, "I am your son", and the difference may be heard by Hercules in hindsight, but he has been confused by William's answer, and he can no longer distinguish at all.

Suddenly, the carriage shook, and William patted Hercules on the shoulder, and he reacted and said in a serious and uncertain tone, "You are really my son!"

"William is the son of Hercules." William replied, "I know you have many doubts, but I want to say that it is true, and as for the proof, well, you will know when the time comes......

Slowly drove into the Thracian city-state, in the square fully armed soldiers wearing Greek armor stood aside with spears in their hands, as if the filming scene of a period drama, magnificent, I couldn't see that Princess Eginia said that Thrace was about to be on the verge of destruction, but outside the square was full of old and weak women and children in ragged clothes holding bowls, watching all this with vegetable faces, and had to explain the bad situation.

Hercules saw all this, but said nothing, now was not a good time to talk, he got out of the chariot, and then stood on the ground and took William from the cart, like an interaction between father and son.

"William has been floating for half his life, he only hates that he has not met the master, if he does not give up, William is willing to worship as his father-in-law." William thought of this sentence in his heart, and then went directly to the square of the Kingdom of Thrace, constantly thinking of the classic picture of a certain god of war, saying that he would pay a father at a time.

William the old blacksmith, Robert, Duke of Normandy, and now Hercules, William counted his fingers and found that he had changed three fathers.

"I'm glad you're back safely, Your Highness."

Princess Eginia walked in the front, greeted by two maids to welcome, the Thracian general Scott in armor was greeting the princess, when he saw Hercules walking towards him, he immediately nodded slightly, "Mighty Hercules, it's an honor."

"It's not as honorable as I expected." General Scott then added, with a look of contempt in his face.

King Curtis did not trust him, and to choose Hercules as a mercenary, undoubtedly distrusts his abilities, and General Scott does not like Hercules.

William saw all this, Hercules chose not to care, but William would not, this is not his small belly, but the glory of Hercules is the glory of William, if you want to record your son of Hercules in history and mythology, then you must maintain the image and glory of Hercules.

"Uncle, look, it's spectacular!"

Iolarus called out to Hercules and pointed to the front of the square, where a towering statue of the god Hera stood in the middle of the square, sixty or seventy meters high in height that was a miracle in this era.

"It took five years and a thousand men to complete her idol to achieve such an effect, Hera is the patron saint of Thrace, everyone knows how Hera wants to destroy Hercules in mythology, maybe the right goal will reconcile you."
