Chapter 7: The Night Thief

The footsteps walked outside the door and suddenly disappeared, as if hallucinating.

Bird was staring out through the foot of the bed.

"Squeak" Bird's door was gently pushed open, and the moonlight came in through the door and shone into the house.

"Your Lord, Your Lord!!!" the man shouted, but Bird did not react.

"Fall asleep, get in," the other urged, and shoved the caller, nearly causing him to fall to the ground.

"Push, push, push!," one reproached

"Do you want to get some money to spend?" the pusher seemed to take advantage of it.

When the man heard this, he simply stopped talking.

"Let's go, hurry up and get some goodies"

"You say that if we steal the property of the master's family like this, will we be sentenced to hanging?" the speaker shuddered, and when he thought of the death method of hanging, he directly stood up, and did not dare to move forward by half a step, and suddenly felt that his neck was painful, and his heart was cold.

"What hangings are not hanging, I ask you, did anyone see us coming?"

The timid man hurriedly shook his head.

"Can you pay me back?"

Keep shaking your head.

"This kid doesn't have any rights now, what can he do if he finds that something is missing? Now he has to look at our faces! What do you say you're afraid of!" he shoved the man again, and pushed it straight into the house.

The moonlight was obliquely shining and did not pass through Bird's bed, but by the moonlight, he could take a look at the situation in the house.

The timid one stood motionless, and the bold one had already begun to move.

"I said you, don't stand at the door blocking the light, we'll leave immediately after taking our things!" After speaking, I couldn't help but feel a pang of annoyance in my heart, I knew that I wouldn't urge this guy to come. I really wanted this guy to pay back his account, but I didn't expect to misunderstand me here, so it would be better to do it alone.

The timid man remained motionless, looking straight at where Bird was sleeping.

"What are you looking at?!"

"How can there be white light? The lord has been sucked away by the white light?"

As soon as the words fell, before the bold person could turn back, the white light emitted from under the bed suddenly expanded and directly occupied the entire room, instantly shaking the man out of the room.

Before the two of them could come to their senses, the white light in the room had disappeared, and everything happened in an instant.

At this moment, Bird's shouts were heard from inside the house.

"You two come in" Suddenly, the two of them turned pale and broke out in a cold sweat.

The two wanted to flee directly, but when they thought of the scene that had just happened, they couldn't help but feel a little afraid. The two of them remembered the purpose of their coming here, and they were suddenly frightened again, so they didn't dare to move the slightest.

"If you don't come in, do you want me to come out and sentence you to hang?"

The timid did not dare to move, and the bold man gritted his teeth and stood up, ignoring his trembling legs, and walked directly towards the house.

With the one who took the lead, the timid also went into the house with him.

At this time, Bird was inserting the burning candle in his hand into the candlestick, and as soon as the two entered the room, they immediately knelt down.

The bold man shouted, "We're here to be loyal to the lord!"

"Yes, yes, yes!" echoed the faint-hearted.

The "what's the name" candle seemed to have debris in it, sizzling, and occasionally a faint popping sound could be heard, especially in such a silent night.

Bird sat at the end of the bed, looking them up and down.

The two of them are still young, they are faces that Bird has not seen much, and the equipment should be the guards who have newly entered the palace in the past six months, one is eager and wise, bold and careful, and the other is kind and timid.

Jean and Demps are just right in line with their personalities.

"You're here for allegiance? I've just heard something else. Bird squinted at the two of them, but the little movements were not seen by the two men, because the room was a little too dark.

"Allegiance! is to be allegiance!" the bold Jean insisted on this statement.

And Demps has always been in tune with it, and this time is no exception.

"What did you just see?"

After a period of "white light", Jean also saw that the allegiance he said seemed to really make Bird a little moved, so he slowly calmed down.

"Jean, Demps, I hope nothing happened tonight, what do you think?" Demps nodded hurriedly, and Jean nodded after glancing at Bird.

Of course, Bird was also looking at Jean, and he had some thoughts in his mind.

"Demps, you go first," Jean said to Demps, who seemed to read Bird's thoughts, to Demps behind him.

Jean glanced at Bird, saw that he did not object, breathed a sigh of relief, and then hinted with his eyes that Demps should leave the place quickly.

"My lord, then I'll quit first," Bird didn't say anything, and Templeton stayed where he was, not knowing what to do.

Jean was also a headache for his companion. For such an obvious thing, he actually had to ask about it.

The intention of this leader to leave himself to discuss something is very obvious, but he doesn't want to take the initiative to speak, and it is for his own good to let Demps leave first.

Just be honest and can't go by yourself, and ask more.

Suddenly, the atmosphere reached a condensation point again.

"Hmm," Bird replied softly.

Demps hurriedly stepped back and exited the house, closing the door with him.

'Stupid!' Jean cursed in his heart, but he couldn't make any moves on the surface.

"You're a squire?"

"Yes, from the Squire Regiment of the Knights of the Stanlow Region"

"How far are you from the Cadet Knight?"

Speaking of his own strength, Jean's expression seemed a little gloomy.

"The lord laughed," Jean didn't answer Bird's question directly.

Bird didn't ask any more, but said

"I'll give you a chance to grow your strength, do you want it or not?!"

"Yes!" Jean blurted out without hesitation, and suddenly leaned down a little.

"I think you've seen everything that just happened. If I said that accepting this opportunity meant working with the Salvation Society for the rest of your life, would you be willing?"

"I meant to be loyal, and I was ready. Yes!" Jean was stared at by Bird and his heart was a little hairy, and at this time, there was only one way to go, to carry it out, and to carry it out to the end.

Jean didn't hesitate, but Bird hesitated for a moment, he didn't know what this thing was or what it worked on, the squire in front of him was a good test subject.

A small ball of light suddenly appeared in Bird's palm, the size of a palm.

The light is restrained, but it still illuminates the inside of the room.

But Jean didn't seem to see it.
