Chapter 41: The Legendary Philosopher's Stone
Harry's first Quidditch match came to an end, with Gryffindor narrowly beating Slytherin.
Yes, by a narrow margin!
Even if Harry had caught the Golden Snitch, there would only be a gap of more than twenty points between Gryffindor and Slytherin.
It is precisely because of the excitement of this game, as well as Harry's final Jedi comeback, that even if the game is over, there are still many little wizards discussing it passionately on the way back.
Harry couldn't hear the compliments anymore, and they were heading towards Hagrid's hut.
When the game was over, Hagrid warmly invited them, along with Harry and Ron, to sit down with him and enjoy a cup of strong tea and often a new snack he had invented.
"It's Snape who is playing tricks," Ron explained, dodging his teeth and washing his face, "Hermione and I both saw that he was staring at you and muttering something that was supposed to be a curse on your broomstick. β
"Nonsense!" Hagrid retorted that he had no idea what had happened in the stands. "Why would Snape do such a thing? He had no reason. β
Harry, Ron, and Hermione looked at each other, not knowing what to tell him, and looked at Clarke, ready to ask for his opinion.
Clarke, however, ignored them, just keeping his head down, as if interested in the baked cookies that Hagrid had just taken out of the oven.
Not knowing how to explain it, Harry decided to tell the truth.
"I've discovered some of his secrets," he told Hagrid of some of the sights he had seen last night, "and when I went to look for Snape, I found Filch helping him with a wound on his foot. β
The wound was deep, with a burnt black edge, which Clark said was fire poison from hell. It was supposed to be him on Halloween night, preparing to pass through the three-headed dog at the end of the corridor on the fourth floor, but he was bitten by it. We guess Snape must have been trying to steal something from the dog guard, and even the troll could have been released by him. β
What Harry had told him startled Hagrid, and he didn't even notice that the tea he had poured for Clark was spilling.
"How do you know about Lowe?" He put down the teapot with a solemn face and asked very nervously.
"Lou Wei?"
"Yes, it's the three-headed dog, he I bought it from a Greek in a pub last year, and I lent it to the Dumbledore guards......"
"Guarding what?" Harry was eager to know.
"Well, don't ask any more," Hagrid interrupted him rudely with a wave of his hand, "that's not what you should know. β
"But Snape was going to steal it."
"Nonsense, you should call Professor Snape," Hagrid added, "Snape is a professor at Hogwarts, so he wouldn't do that." β
"But why did he murder Harry?" Ron exclaimed that the events of the afternoon had made his prejudice against Snape even worse.
"I saw him chanting a spell at Harry, and Hermione saw it, and we could see it very clearly."
"I'm telling you, you're wrong!" Hagrid said angrily, "I don't know what happened to Harry's broomstick, but Snape wouldn't want to murder a student, let alone Harry." β
"Maybe it's because of love that ......"
Seeing that Ron was still trying to argue, Hagrid grabbed a cookie and shoved it into his arms.
"Come, eat something, listen to me, that thing has nothing to do with you, it's dangerous, forget the big dog, forget what it's guarding. It's about the ...... between Professor Dumbledore and Nicol Lemay."
"Aha," said Harry suddenly excitedly, "oh, it's related to a guy named Nicol Lemay, isn't it?" β
"Oh, Merlin's beard!" Hagrid slapped his head hard, "That's not something you should know. β
However, what he said didn't work, and Harry, Ron, and Hermione all looked at Clarke.
"Well, black pepper, Hagrid, you've got too much pepper on your cookies." Clark broke open a hard biscuit, put the tea in his mouth, and looked up to see the expectant eyes of the three men.
Hagrid, who was tight-lipped, really lived up to his name. If they didn't know, they would have thought he had leaked the news to Harry on purpose.
Clark took a sip of tea, washed away the pungent smell of the peppercake, and opened his mouth unhurriedly.
"Nicolas Lemay, also known as Nicolas Lemay, a Frenchman, born in 1327, was the most famous alchemist of the 14th century."
Sure enough, you can trust Clark to never disappoint. Harry and Ron looked at him curiously, and Hagrid's face was already full of nervousness.
"As an alchemist, along with Dumbledore, he discovered twelve uses for dragon blood. If you've ever eaten a chocolate frog, you've probably seen it under Professor Dumbledore's magic picture. β
Hearing his words, Harry immediately remembered the picture of the chocolate frog he had obtained on the Hogwarts Express, and that one was Dumbledore, and the picture would still move.
Hermione, however, found the problem in Clark's words. "Wasn't that Nicol Lemay born in 1327, how could he do research with Professor Dumbledore?"
Clark smiled and leaned back more comfortably in his chair.
"Because that Monsieur Nicol Lemay is six hundred and sixty-five years old, and he has lived until now."
"What?"
"How much?"
"Six hundred and sixty-five?"
Three questions in a row, even the mature and steady Hermione was surprised, and Hagrid couldn't stand it anymore.
"That's enough, Clark, that's not something you should know."
His voice was so loud that it startled Tooth Tooth, but Clark wasn't scared at all.
"Hagrid, even if I didn't say it, wouldn't they go and look it up? Well, if you don't satisfy their curiosity, the devil knows what they're going to do. β
After speaking, ignoring Hagrid, who buried his face in his knees, Clark said straight to the point: "The little package you are talking about should contain the Philosopher's Stone." β
"Rejoice in afflictions,
To win the battle,
to give the dead a new life,
Grant magic to mortals. β
"This is the Philosopher's Stone, also known as the Philosopher's Stone, the Philosopher's Stone, the Golden Pill, and the Philosopher's Stone. It is a mythical substance, the holy grail of alchemists. Legend has it that the Philosopher's Stone can turn any metal into pure gold, and it can also create an elixir of life that will make those who drink it immortal. β
Harry, the shock they received today was too much, an antique that lived for six hundred and sixty-five years, a stone that could make gold, and a stone that could make people immortal, it was really a bit overwhelming.
Of course, these are just legends, and as one of the highest achievements of alchemy, there are many reports about the Philosopher's Stone, but the only remaining piece is in the hands of Nicol Lemay. Presumably, the piece in the castle should have been entrusted by Professor Dumbledore to keep, so don't think about it. β
