Chapter Forty-Nine: A Sumptuous Christmas Feast
The splendid auditorium is filled with a strong festive atmosphere.
More than a hundred chubby roast turkeys, golden in color, with bellies stuffed with potatoes and apples.
Piles of grilled meat occupy the center of the long table like a hill, giving off the aroma peculiar to meat.
There is also a large plate of delicious sausages, shiny and oily; Bowls of buttered peas are green and attractive.
Even in order to season the boiled potatoes, a plate of thick and thick meat marinade and lingonberry sauce was specially served. Clark liked this the most, and he crushed the potatoes into a puree and mixed them with the meat marinade to make a bowl of homemade mashed potatoes with gravy.
In addition to these delicious foods, every few steps along the table, there are piles of wizard packets waiting for you.
These magical firecrackers peculiar to wizarding societies are not like those shabby Muggle firecrackers, which contain only ordinary small plastic toys and very sturdy paper hats.
Harry and Fred smoke a packet of firecrackers together, and instead of a muffled "bang", it makes a blast like the roar of a cannon, engulfing them all in a puff of blue smoke and exploding all sorts of strange toys from it.
There's a navy hat that makes a whistle, a magician's hat that conjures a white rabbit, and a peaked wizard's hat that sings like a sorting hat.
Clarke draws a Santa hat that can make snowflakes flutter on his head, and on the podium, Dumbledore swaps his spiky wizarding hat for a flower-filled hat, and Professor Flitwick laughs happily as he tells him a joke.
A hearty meal is followed by fiery Christmas pudding and a variety of English desserts that need to be eaten with insulin.
The atmosphere in the whole auditorium also changed from the initial enthusiasm to warmth, and the young wizards who stayed in the school gathered together, eating desserts slowly and talking and laughing.
Clark watched as Hagrid raised his large wooden wine glass, drinking cup after glass, his face reddening and reddening, and finally kissed Professor McGonagall on the cheek. Surprisingly, instead of being angry, Professor McGonagall giggled and blushed, her high black top hat tilted to the side.
And when Clark and the others leave the table, each of them has a large pile of things that have been blown out of the magic firecracker in their arms, including a bag of flashing balloons that can simulate an explosion scene; a beautiful hat with a triumphant cheer that spews streamers and sequins; There is also a brightly colored Gryffindor scarf.
The sumptuous Christmas feast ended with laughter.
After coming out of the restaurant, Clark had a rare snowball fight on the playground with the Weasley brothers and a few of them, waving their wands at each other, directing snowballs to bombard back and forth like cannonballs, and having a very pleasant afternoon.
Then, they were so cold that their clothes were soaked, but fortunately there was a thermal flame conjured up by Clark.
The pale blue flames burrowed directly into their collars and burned against their bodies, which supported them to return to the fire in the common room breathlessly.
After sitting down, Harry and Ron played magic cards again, only to lose miserably to Ron. Of course, there may be a reason why the twin brothers keep coming up with ideas on the sidelines.
After eating refreshments consisting of turkey sandwiches, baked pastries, wine-infused jam pudding, and Christmas cake, everyone felt too full and a little sleepy.
They didn't want to do anything else before they went to bed, just watched Percy chase Fred and George around the Gryffindor Tower as the twins snatched Percy's prefect badge.
It was arguably the most enjoyable Christmas in Clark's life, and Hogwarts was much warmer than his home.
However, after getting into bed, Clark noticed movement in Harry's bed next door.
By this time, Ron's stomach was full of turkey and cake, and he had nothing to worry about, and had already put down the bed curtain and fell asleep.
Through the gap in the curtains, Clark saw Harry leaning out from his bedside and pulling out the cloak from under the bed.
Then, a moment later, Harry's bed curtain was lifted and lowered by an invisible hand.
Clark heard Ron's muttering in his sleep, as well as the sound of his feet stepping on the floor and walking down the stairs.
It seems that even if Clark told everything about Nicol Lemay, so that they didn't have to go to the forbidden book area to find news, it wouldn't stop Harry from putting on an invisibility cloak and going on a night trip.
But also, whoever gets a supercar can't drive out and blow up the street with great interest.
For Harry, this invisibility cloak is the cool supercar, and wandering around Hogwarts Castle in the middle of the night, adventuring, and not being noticed by the teacher on duty at night, this kind of thing, just thinking about it is very exciting.
Clark wasn't surprised by this kind of thing, he wasn't Harry's babysitter, and he wasn't in any danger in the castle anyway, so he rolled over and fell asleep.
Nothing was said for the night, but the next day, Harry, who couldn't hide it, was in the dormitory, telling them how the night before, he had wandered around in an invisibility cloak and found the magic mirror in an unused classroom.
"I saw my parents in that mirror. And their parents, their siblings, and the whole family! ”
As in the original plot, even without the siege of Administrator Filch, he still encountered the magical Mirror of Eris, which made Clark a little suspicious that Harry had fallen for Dumbledore's suggestion, otherwise how could it be so coincidental that he just entered the classroom where the mirror was placed.
"You should wake me up." Ron said angrily after listening to Harry's story.
Harry also felt that it was a bit indecent for him to venture alone with the Invisibility Cloak last night, so he extended the invitation.
"You can go tonight, and Clark, I'm going to go again, I want you to look in that mirror."
Ron was overjoyed by Harry's invitation.
"I want to see your mom and dad." He said eagerly.
"I want to see your whole family, I'd like to see the Weasleys, and you can point me to your other brothers and all your relatives."
Listening to Harry and Ron's words, Clark on the side felt weird, and it was really Ingland.
"You can see them at all times," Ron said, eating the breakfast Clark had brought them, the two of them hadn't been to the dining room for breakfast since the holidays.
"Come to our house this summer. However, only dead people may appear in the mirror. You eat some bacon or something, why don't you eat anything? ”
Looking at the sandwich in front of him, Harry couldn't eat it at all.
He had met his parents, and he was going to see them tonight, which made him really unappetizing.
"Are you alright?" Ron said, "You look weird. ”
"He just cares about the mirror." Clark looked at George as he handed over his card game feedback, estimating how to improve it, and at the same time, another thought popped into his mind in response to Harry's situation.
