Chapter 22: The Hogwarts Dragon Farm
"Would you like a cup of tea?"
In his office, Professor Lupin said, looking left and right at the teapot looking for him, "I was just about to make a pot of tea." β
"Okay." Harry said nervously, and Clark got up to help Lupin bring the teapot he had placed in the corner.
"Thank you!" Lupin tapped the teapot with his wand, and the otherwise cold teapot suddenly spewed out a puff of steam from its spout.
"Sit down," he said, opening a dusty jar, "I'm afraid I only have tea bagsβClark may not be used to drinking them." As for you, Harry, I'm sure you've had enough of tea, right? β
Harry looked up in surprise, and Lupin's eyes flashed with a witty light.
"How do you know this?" Harry asked, a little embarrassed.
"It was Professor McGonagall who told me that she always likes to talk about you students during breaks."
Lupin said, handing Harry and Clark a cup of strong tea, the rim of which was still notched, and they had to angle it slightly to prevent their mouths from being cut.
"You're not worried, are you?"
"Huh? Yes. Harry said, but Clark could clearly tell that he hesitated for a moment.
Lupin, of course, noticed this, and asked, "Is there anything bothering you, Harry?" β
"Nope." Harry replied subconsciously.
He took a sip of tea, watched Grindy Low wave a fist at him, and suddenly put the teacup on Lupin's desk, looked at him and said, "Yes! Do you remember the day we dealt with the Boggart? β
"Yes." Lupin said slowly.
"Why don't you let me deal with it?" Harry asked abruptly.
Lupin raised an eyebrow.
"I think that's obvious, Harry." Lupin's tone was a little surprised.
Harry had expected Lupin to deny it, but was surprised to hear this.
"Why?" He asked again.
"That's right," Lupin frowned slightly, "I take it for granted that if you were to face the Boggart, it might turn into the image of Voldemort." β
Harry was stunned, he hadn't expected Lupin to answer like that, and Clarke wasn't surprised at all.
"Obviously, I was wrong." Lupin said to Harry, still frowning, "But at the time I didn't think Voldemort should be allowed to appear in the staff lounge, I think it would freak everyone out." β
"I did think of Voldemort first," Harry said frankly, "butβbut laterβI thought of the Dementors. β
"I understand," Lupin said thoughtfully, "yes, yes...... I was very impressed. β
Seeing the look of surprise on Harry's face, he smiled slightly, "This shows that what you fear most is - fear itself, very wise, Harry. β
Harry didn't know what to say, so he took a few more sips of tea.
"So, you always thought I didn't believe you were capable of dealing with the Boggart?" Lupin asked keenly.
"This ...... Oh, yes. Harry said, suddenly feeling happier, "Professor Lupin, you know those Dementorsβ"
Just then, there was a knock on the door, interrupting him.
"Come in." Lupin exclaimed.
The door opened, and Snape walked in, wolf poison potion he had boiled for Lupin.
When he saw Harry and Clarke, he stopped, his dark eyes narrowing.
"Ah, Severus," said Lupin with a smile, "thank you very much, will you put it on the table?" β
Snape deliberately placed the smoking glass in front of Clark, his eyes looking back and forth between him and Harry at the same time.
"I'm showing them my Grindy Lowe." Lupin said happily, pointing to the tank.
"That's interesting." Snape didn't look at it and said, "You should drink it right away, Lupin." β
"Okay, okay, I'll drink." Lupin said.
"I've got a full pot," Snape continued, "I'm afraid you'll need more." β
"I should probably have some more tomorrow, thank you very much, Severus. By the way, would you like a cup of tea? β
"You're welcome." Snape said with a blank smile on his face, and exited the room with great vigilance.
Harry looked curiously at the goblet, and Lupin smiled.
"Professor Snape kindly made a potion for me." "I'm not very good at pharmaceuticals, and it's very complicated," he said. β
He picked up his glass, sniffed it, took a sip carefully, and shuddered, "It's a pity, it doesn't work with sugar." β
"Why? - Harry wanted to ask, but Lupin looked at him and answered his unfinished question.
"I've always felt a little uncomfortable," said Lupin, "and I'm the only one that works, and I'm lucky enough to work with Professor Snape, and there aren't many wizards who can concoct it." β
Professor Lupin took another sip, "By the way, Clark, you're so smart that you should recognize what kind of potion this is." β
Clark could hear it, and there was a hint of trepidation in his words.
"Of course, Headmaster Dumbledore told me when he decided to hire you." Clarke smiled kindly at him, "Professor, don't worry, Professor Snape just seems to be a little less good, but he's actually pretty good." β
"Really?" Lupin said, seemingly just slightly curious, "I thought you were all afraid of him." β
Harry suddenly recklessly said, "Professor Snape is interested in the dark arts. β
Clark frowned, and Lupin took another gulp of the medicine, "Severus and I used to be classmates, of course, it wasn't the same house at that time, but we've known each other for a long time. β
Harry didn't seem to understand what Lupin meant, hesitated for a moment, and then continued desperately, "Some people think that he would do anything to get a position in Defence Against the Dark Arts. β
Clark was about to speak, when Lupin drank the pills from his glass and grimaced.
"It's unpleasant," he said, "all right, Harry, I'm going to get back to work." See you at the banquet later. β
Although there is no custom of serving tea to guests in England, this time Harry heard the meaning of Professor Lupin's words.
"Okay." Harry said, putting down the empty teacup.
Gu Ying
Clark also stood up, "See you in the evening, Professor." β
The empty goblet was still smoking, and Harry glanced back as the two of them came out of the office.
"Clark, Professor Lupin......"
Before he could finish his sentence, he was interrupted by Clark, "That's his private matter, we shouldn't snoop too much on other people's privacy under the pretext of caring about people." β
Harry could only keep his mouth shut.
"Besides, we were there at the time, and if Professor Snape really had any problems, I don't think he would have done it in front of you and me, would he?"
Clark said again, and Harry agreed, "yes, probably. β
The two of them walked down the stairs and left the castle, through the slightly yellowish meadows, to the edge of the Forbidden Forest.
There was a large road leading to the dragon farm inside the Forbidden Forest, but the entrance to the road was blocked by an iron gate.
Clark stepped forward and knocked on the door, and the bronze lion relief on the door suddenly came to life, "Who is it?" Can I help you? β
Although he hadn't dealt with him much, Harry could still hear it, it was the voice of Ron's older brother, Charlie Weasley.
"It's me, and Harry." Clark said.
The bronze lion on the big iron gate opened its mouth when it heard this, revealing a doorway more than one person high.
They went inside, and after walking along the cobblestone road for a short time, they came across a huge dragon farm that looked like a bird's nest.
The massive building is at least six or seven stories tall, and is made of silver-gray steel skeletons that support each other to form a grid-like framework.
Harry was surprised when he saw this dragon farm, "Although there is only one fire dragon, this hall is too small, isn't it too small?" β
Clark smiled and pushed open the door to the dragon farm.
As soon as he walked in, everything in front of him suddenly became clearer, and Harry was surprised to find that the dragon breeding arena, which did not look tall on the outside, turned out to be a hole inside.
The space in this is at least dozens of times larger!
A vast forest came into their eyes directly, like an endless sea of turquoise, and the boundaries of the stadium could not be seen at all.
And where they were at the moment was in the middle of the forest, halfway up a hill.
A hall has been dug out of the hill wall here, which connects to the main gate of the venue.
The floor was covered with gleaming marble tiles, and there was a bright light overhead, and Harry would have thought they were in some hotel lobby.
As soon as Clark and Harry walked in, at the reception desk on the side of the hall, a senior student on duty hurriedly put down the textbook in his hand, stood up and asked them, "Is it Clark and Harry?" β
Seeing Clark nod, he stretched out his hand and tugged for a moment, "Professor Weasley is in the office up there. β
The two walked out of the hall, and outside was a huge viewing platform, the semi-circular platform cantilevered out, and through some telescopes placed on the side, they could see the scenery of the entire dragon farm far away.
There are four such viewing platforms, which, together with a glass walkway, divide the hill into two parts.
At the top of the hill was a square wider than a football field, as straight as a mirror, as if the peak had been cut by a giant spirit with a sword.
In the center of the square, seven or eight wooden houses with a rough shape and a strong primitive atmosphere are enclosed, which is where the staff of the dragon farm live, and Charlie's office is also there.
At the foot of the mountainside lies a mysterious-looking magical town. It's just that at this time, the town is still a little deserted, and there is no one.
"Hey, Clark! Hey, Harry! β
As the two stood on the viewing platform on the mountainside and looked down, a greeting sounded behind them.
Clark turned his head and saw that it was his cousin, Charlie Weasley.
Unlike the last time I saw him, today he was wearing a brown leather jacket and a pair of Martin boots on his feet, covered in mud and his hair was messy.
"I just checked Nobeta's body and did a skin care and cleansing at the same time." Charlie greeted him with a smile on his face, and it was obvious that he was very satisfied with his current work.
Clark shook his hand, and the three of them walked up the steps together to the top of the mountain.
As they arrived, Clark could clearly feel a wave of joy coming from the center of the cabin.
It was Clarke's pet dragon, Nobeta, who was greeting him after sensing his aura.
Clark soothed her a little through the psychic link, calming her down for a moment, and then asked Charlie, "How does it feel to be a professor?" β
Charlie smiled and led them into the office, "It feels good, especially when Percy came to take a dragon class two days ago. To be honest, I never imagined that I would one day return to Hogwarts and continue my life on campus. β
"Would you like some tea?"
Clark shook his head, "We ran into Professor Lupin on our way here, and we've already drunk from him. β
Charlie didn't persuade again, "That'...... Now go check out the fire dragon. β
He led the two Clarkes to one of the largest sheds, and the next moment, a huge black shadow swooped down in front of them with a gust of vicious wind.
"Ahh
Harry let out a cry of fright, looking at the huge dark golden pupils in front of him, smelling the faint rancid smell coming from the tip of his nose, a terrifying sensation that made his brain go blank in an instant.
Clark reached out and helped Harry to keep it from falling to the ground, "That's enough, Nobeta, don't mess around, step back!" β
The beast, which had been very close, stepped back aggrievedly, and it was only then that Harry could see her in full view.
It was a very "beautiful" creature!
Compared to the way Harry saw her in his first year, the fire dragon Norbeta at this time has become much larger, the length of the head and tail together must be at least six or seven meters, and the two huge wings are like the fan blades of two windmills.
The enlarged body did not make her look bloated, and the slender body showed the most perfect streamline, coupled with the glossy black scales that covered the surface of the body and shimmered with a mysterious luster.
The whole fire dragon, as he had once seen in Muggle car magazines, those expensive high-end sports cars, was full of glamorous elegance.
If he had to describe her, Harry decided that she would be considered a "nobleman" among the dragons.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" Charlie stood beside Harry and asked, "The first time I saw her, I reacted about the same as you. β
Charlie's eyes were full of obsession when he looked at Nobeta, the kind of look Harry was very familiar with, and it was the same when he looked at the firebolts.
"I've never seen this fire dragon, she's a new breed, yes, I use 'she'. Nobeta was unlike any other dragon I'd seen before, she was smarter, more beautiful, and even had a little magic in her own right, which was incredible. β
In the face of Charlie's praise, the clever Nobeta seemed to understand his words, and snorted haughtily, and some orange-red sparks erupted from her nostrils, looking dangerous and beautiful.
