Chapter 80: Kane's Diary (2)
Fang Yifeng picked up the book that emitted a faint white light, and just opened it, the handwriting on it was very clear.
Kane's Diary
Fang Yifeng was ecstatic, this is indeed an excellent treasure for him who lacks understanding of this world, but he doesn't know why it was found in this secret room, could it be that the owner of this house is Kane's old man? Deka Kane, as the last and only heir of Hradim, his diary must have recorded many unknown secrets. With anticipation, Fang Yifeng opened the book "Kane's Diary".

So many incredible things have happened in the past year. Even though I told myself time and time again that maybe it was all just my delusions, the facts were so solid that they lingered. After the kidnapping of Prince Albrecht, our King Leoric has clearly gone mad. Becoming manic and irritable, he began to torment his subjects even more aggressively, and provoked a war with Westmarch. This absurd and unplanned war ended up being a complete failure. Later, the king's bodyguards betrayed him, and the resentment of these once loyal warriors against the king eventually turned into an open rebellion. The rebellion was quickly quelled, and the king crucified all the rebels on a stake, until one day the king also mysteriously disappeared like his son, and this **** came to an end. There was something creepy in the air, and it seemed to be...... Fear.

Damn, what an idiot I'm in. If I had acted sooner, if I had told the speculations I cared about, then those poor people might have escaped death. And now, it's too late. Archbishop Lazarus, the king's most trusted aide, gathered a group of villagers to venture deep into the monastery's benels in the name of searching for the king's lost prince. Since then, the villagers have not been able to step out of the monastery gates, which reflected an eerie red light. The terrible truth is that the former Archbishop of Light has fallen to the dark side, and Lazarus must have performed some kind of evil ritual in the underground of the monastery. The villagers he lured into the underground were all beset with a horrific fate. They were slaughtered, sacrificed to demons, transformed into terrible undead. It seems that he was the one who laid the evil that befell the town, but I suspect he may be just an unwitting evil minion. The night was incomparably long, and a low murmur seemed to come from the depths of hell from the monastery. I sat alone and helpless, unable to do anything about the sight in front of me. I don't have the strength to fight evil, and at this moment I can only resort to the broken sentences of the legendary texts. Yes, I should continue to search for those legends, and now I believe in them, and I am convinced that there will be a way to defeat the evil that afflicts us.

Every day, the air in the town grows heavier, and every day new fears fall on us, and more and more townspeople flee, but few survive this evil land. There are very few left behind – Griswold, Pepin, Ogden, Farnham, poor Wirt and, of course, the blonde Gillian. I met Griswald this morning, a brawny man who had once fearlessness with fear written on his face, as if he would be overwhelmed by weariness and panic at any moment. However, just as almost everyone was on the run, someone came to town. The adventurers heard about the mutation that had taken place in Tristram and gathered around the town like vultures that had found a rotting corpse. But one of them, Adrida, was different, and I couldn't do anything about her. She openly declares herself to be a witch, and her presence apparently adds to the panic among the townspeople. She knew almost everything about arcane knowledge, even the advanced magic I had never heard of. Why did she come here on such a sinister day? Something was clearly wrong with the mysterious witch.

Just today, the cursed staff of the evil priest Lazarus was brought to me. This may seem like a welcome news, but I know that this is only a prelude to deeper horrors. In fact, I've been wondering what the dark source that befell Tristram is all this time. To admit the fact that this evil body is too terrifying, and the mention of this name would make any mortal tremble. But in any case, the time has come when we have to face up to this horrible reality. At the source of this series of events, the evil force that afflicts us is none other than Diablo, the lord of the abyss, the demon in charge of terror. It became abundantly clear that Lazarus had kidnapped Prince Albrecht and sacrificed him to Diablo, freeing him from his ancient captivity. No one knows how far the priest who once served the Light intends to go on the path of blasphemy, and what more evil plans he has in place, but fortunately, he has died at the hands of our hero's sword and is not alive to continue his dark rituals.

I wandered in nightmares about a young boy who was being tortured inhumanly, his dying wails like from the depths of hell, the desolation shattering the rotten windows of the monastery, and when I woke up to the horrible screams of Diablo as he was finished. Even though the dawn had already broken, I couldn't hold back the tremors I felt when I heard such a terrifying scream. I couldn't sleep again, so I ventured outside and waited for the warriors to return. Time seems to be a long time at the moment, and with each additional second, my worries increase. He finally appeared, the rising sun reflecting on his body, blood covering his body—the enemy's and his own. [red] I finally relaxed, the hero triumphed over Diablo, he survived the brutal ordeal, and all the horrors were a thing of the past. Looking at the bruised heroes, at the corpses burning outside the monastery, at the ruins left behind by the battle, my mind was still confused. If I had taken those legends seriously, would all of this have been avoided? I fell into a deep sense of self-remorse.

How could I be so short-sighted? I blamed my friend's melancholy on the natural reaction of the horrors he had experienced, without noticing that it was Diablo himself that was lodged in him. After defeating Diablo, the egotistical warrior inserted the soul stone that imprisoned Diablo into his body, in a vain attempt to restrain the Dreadlord with his body and spirit. Clearly, however, he failed. He began to wear a wide black cloak, hiding the changes in his body under the darkness. After weeks of contemplation, he finally set off one night. Perhaps he went to the "East", the place where he woke up screaming his name countless times after his victory over the Dread Lord.
Soon after he left us, thousands of demons emerged from the ground, and they attacked our town, burning it to the ground. The bloodthirsty demons spared no one, including women and children, and even the dead could not find peace in the grave, and they were eventually resurrected as terrifying undead monsters, minions of demons. Poor blacksmith Griswald, who had reverently crafted sharp weapons and heavy armor for the prowler. Now he had suffered the worst of all. After countless days and nights of torture, he was corrupted into a demonic monster thirsting for mortal flesh. There is no doubt that the Dread Lord has taken possession of his body. This fool, he thought he could control Diablo evil, but his reckless ego ended up destroying us all.
Now, I sit alone in a cage, screaming and hellish awaiting my end.
This diary only came to an abrupt end when it was recorded here, and I don't know if I couldn't continue to write, or because of some other reason, there was no paper in the back, which made Fang Yifeng, who was eager to know more, very anxious. But there was no choice but to wait until I got back to Rog's camp and asked Kane about the old man.
However, what made Fang Yifeng more interested was the things recorded in the diary. It seems that there are still many unknown secrets between the earth, hell, and heaven!
