Chapter 212: Tunnel
"No need to light a fire," Sid stopped the attendants outside the house from trying to light the light.
"Call the butler and don't disturb the others"
"Yes," the room whispered in response, and then only the sound of footsteps fading away.
With the last bit of moonlight, Sid got up and sat on the edge of the bed, but he was not in a hurry to put on his clothes immediately. Seeing that the attendant was far away, he leaned back sideways, and pulled out an object from the pillow, which was unfolded by the moonlight, and it was a leather scroll.
"As long as this mission is completed, I will have enough energy points, and I will be able to cure you by then!" Sid muttered the same sentence to himself, rubbing his hands back and forth on the scroll.
It didn't take long for there to be a knock on the door outside, which woke Sid up.
"My lord, steward Eden is here."
"My lord" Outside the house, two knocks rang out one after another.
Sid recoiled the scroll and tried to put it back in place, but paused for a moment before tucking it directly into his arms.
"Come in," Sid called as he got up.
"Your Excellency!" the door twitched, and Steward Eden stepped in.
Then, the attendant outside the house quickly closed the door again, leaving him to stand outside the door alone.
Seeing Sid get up and dress, Steward Eden hurriedly stepped forward to serve and help take care of the clothes accessories.
"I'll go out for a day or two this time, or four or five days at the longest, and I'll leave the affairs inside and outside the house to you for the time being."
"Yes," Steward Eden replied with a nod, but his movements did not slow down.
"By the way, if Captain Mick ordered someone to ask for money. You just sign it according to my notes, don't ask too much" Sid suddenly remembered this matter against the Duchy of Bertat, so he specially instructed.
Steward Eden continued to nod in response.
"Hadi should be here in a few days. I'll have to trouble you then."
"Hadi?" the butler paused in his hand, and hurriedly asked, "Hadi's illness is cured?"
"I've found a cure for this purpose, and I'll know when the time comes, and I guess it will work this time."
"Congratulations, sir," Butler Eden also seemed a little happy.
"Hadi has suffered so much, and being able to cure him is what he should do as a father," Sid shook his head, and said that Hadi's heart was still dull.
Stay with Side for a long time. The most basic observation of words and feelings, the housekeeper has learned. Seeing that it was a little dull to talk about Hatisided, seeing that he was silent. Steward Eden wisely chose to remain silent. Just busy with the work at hand.
When everything was ready, just before the moon was rising, the sky was dark and unclear, and the characters five meters away could not be distinguished.
Sid went out and picked a secluded path and went inside. I walked all the way and didn't see anyone.
The group met at Adolf's estate. But it's not the main entrance avenue. Rather, it is a backdoor path entry. When Sid arrived, he happened to meet Benson, who was followed by the believer he had met in the story space yesterday, and after seeing Sid, the man quickly bowed to Sid and said hello.
Sid replied perfunctorily, urging him to hurry into the house, and the number of people standing outside this door would inevitably attract the attention of others.
A few mermaids rushed in and met Adolf. Seeing that he was eating, the bright lights in the room made Sid and the others a little uncomfortable.
"Do you want some breakfast?"
"Used up!" Sid waved his hand. Seeing that Benson also shook his head and refused, he hurriedly urged, "Hurry up, don't rub it off." Sooner rather than later, when the sun comes out, I estimate that the first group of people will enter this dense forest, and they will not be able to hide if they want to! I don't want word from the city that I have entered the Misty Forest and am with a slave trader!"
Adolf gave Sid a blank look, but that was exactly what he did.
Quickly mixed the last bit of food on the plate with the wine in the glass, and stuffed it all into his mouth. Before he could swallow it, Adolf got up and waved his hand at Sid and the others, motioning to follow.
It was not the first time that Sid and the others had borrowed a way out of the city from Adolf, and they were familiar with it, following Adolf through several places, until they stopped outside a cellar.
"These are the three people who followed me into the ruins this time," Adolf gestured to the three in front of him.
"Plus you, me, Benson, and the one who was with him, a group of seven."
Sid nodded in response, and Adolph looked at Benson, who also nodded in response.
Knowing that he was bored, Adolf shook his head, and finally fixed his eyes on the cellar in front of him.
"Open the tunnel"
"Yes" The three of them stepped forward quickly, but without much effort, they exposed the opening of a hole that could accommodate two people to merge in front of everyone, a string of wooden ladders extended down, the bottom was swarthy, and it was not clear how deep it was.
"You guys go down first"
The three of them were killed, but they didn't dare to say anything, and jumped down one by one, and at the same time threw down all the things they had prepared before.
Sid was the last to descend into the tunnel, and the entire interior of the tunnel was illuminated by several torches, and Adolf waved in front of him urging him to "keep up"
Seeing Benson and his party walking forward quickly, Sid didn't think much about it anymore and followed.
This tunnel leads to the outside of the city, and it is not very long, and you can see the exit after walking for about ten minutes. Sid also asked about this tunnel, and Sid thought that there must be other tunnels hidden in this manor, and it was likely that they were specially used to transport slaves.
However, this Adolf did not let go of his mouth and would never admit it. He also said that this tunnel was dug by the owner of the manor, and by the time he took over the manor, the tunnel already existed. According to Adolf, the estimated wealthy man or official dug out a passage to survive just in case, such as when the city of Stanlow was besieged by foreign enemies.
Along the way, Sid also paid attention to some details. The entire tunnel seems to have been used by no one since the last time, when a few of them walked in and out.
"It's here" a soft cry interrupted Sid's thoughts, and he looked up to see a glimmer of light shining into the tunnel, and a few more steps further before he could see the gray-blue sky, and dawn had broken.
Out of the tunnel, you can see the misty forest in the distance at a glance, and the dark mist-like thing envelops the entire forest, from top to bottom, this is the origin of the misty forest. By the time the sky is completely lit up, the mist of the entire forest is estimated to spread out in a large circle.
"Drink this," Adolf handed over a bottle of potion, which was a healing potion.
"I drank it before I went out, don't worry"
Seeing this, Adolf did not insist, and ordered a few men to pour the potion on the horses, and turned around and handed the potion to Benson and the others. (To be continued.) )
