Chapter 7 Eating Fairy Rice

After a while, my father brought me steaming, fragrant rice. When the children saw the white rice, they hurriedly asked why there was no food.

My father said with a smile, I ate fairy rice today, and I didn't add any good things. So he put a large piece of badger oil that had been boiled the night in each of their bowls with chopsticks, and put a piece of green salt on a stone, lightly crushed it with the back of an axe, and sprinkled some of it into the children's bowls.

Looking at the hesitant eyes of the children, the father just picked up the chopsticks and ate them, which was simply devoured, and the food was so fragrant that it made the mouths of several hungry young men drool.

At this time, they didn't care whether it was delicious or not, so they picked up the bowl and ate it, but as soon as the rice entered their mouths, a strong fragrance of animal fat that had never been seen before immediately soaked the entire mouth, which was simply refreshing, wonderful, and delicious.

They also fed each of the three dogs a bunch of food to eat.

After eating, they did not rest, they began to peel the skin and take the meat, and they were busy until dark, anyway, there was no way to hunt on this rainy day, and they just had something to do.

The black bear skin is also placed on a stack of wood near the fire and slowly dried. The meat is divided into large pieces and placed on the stone on the first floor near the entrance of the cave, where the temperature is low and the meat is not easy to spoil. The children also threw large pieces of meat at the hounds until they shook their heads and licked their legs and walked away.

Since then, the drizzle outside the cave is continuous, the stream is murmuring, they have been burning the fire for five or six days in a row to chat and eat meat, the days are happy and happy, the only thing missing is vegetables and other food besides meat, and the rice and dry food brought are not much, and they urgently need to replenish.

One day, after dinner, when there was nothing to do, the father took a son and two dogs to look for wild vegetables and fruits.

After half a day's hard work, they brought back a large number of fungus, mushrooms, chestnuts, pine balls, persimmons, as well as green shallots and water celery, and two palm-sized unknown fish worn with straw ropes, which they carried a large bag on their backs.

When they returned to the cave laughing, the children who were watching the house jumped for joy when they saw these ordinary and strange things, and said, "At last we can improve our food!" and kissed their father on the face, and was itched and hurt by the dense beard on his father's face, which made them giggle and laugh.

On this day, the sound of the rain was finally no longer heard outside the cave, and the sound of water in the stream was much quieter, and the sky finally cleared.

Coming out of the cave, stepping on the soft soil outside the cave, at first glance at the outside world, the sun pierces the eyes.

Everyone rubbed their eyes, which were accustomed to the not very bright light in the cave, and gradually became less uncomfortable after a long time.

Look outside the cave, the autumn is high and cool, the sun is oblique, although the trees and flowers after the rain have entered the autumn, they still show their spirits, as if they want to come back from the withering; the ground is washed clean and smooth by the rain, and occasionally a few animals bring out the fresh soil from the footprints, which is particularly eye-catching.

It seems that as soon as the rain stopped, the animals were busy again.

A few crisp and pleasant bird calls on the tree attracted the attention of their group of four, looking from afar, like cuckoos, and like yellow orioles, they couldn't see very clearly, just the figure of the bells and whistles on the branches, facing the sun, so good-looking.

The two dogs wagged their tails beside their owners, howled, ran over, chased them, fluttered butterflies, played hide and seek, and seemed to be fascinated by this scene, revealing their innocent and lively side.

After enjoying the scenery outside the cave for a long time, they quickened their pace, today's task is very heavy, to climb over a mountain, to go to another mountain, no one can tell how far the road in the mountain is, anyway, it is far, far away, there is no road along the way or the path that the animals close to the road walk, I don't know.

Let's see. They didn't know how long they had walked, but they came to a big rock wall, which was not far from the top of the mountain, and everyone felt a little hungry, so they simply sat down to eat something and walked.

Open the wide and thick horn leaf wrapped in food, although the food is still the rice ball that has been eaten recently and eat a little nausea bear meat, but from inside the cave to outside the cave, the environment has changed, people's appetite is also fresh and cheerful, this mountain lunch is particularly fragrant.

After the meal, I rushed to the road, so I didn't go into details.

When the sun was still in the west, they finally reached their destination.

This is different from the bottom of the pot where the cave where they lived. It is a situation of two mountains and one river, and the mountain slowly grows upward, high above the clouds and mist, and the situation on the top of the mountain is not visible. The river is not very wide, only a few feet, but it twists and turns, goes back and forth, and walks beautifully. The riverside is a small grass, green and yellow, densely packed, charming and stretching forward, everything is a pleasant appearance, a good pastoral and tranquil scene.

When the children arrived here, they suddenly felt like someone had suddenly opened their minds, sighed that there was such a good place in the world, and happily rushed straight into the river to have a water fight, and washed the greasy bodies that had been curled up in the cave for seven or eight days.

The three dogs were also so excited that they jumped into the crystal clear water with the little owners, splashing and playing.

This is the second time my father has stepped into this fairyland on earth, and the last time was thirty years ago, when he followed his grandfather. The mountains and rivers are still the same, but grandpa has returned to the earth.

My father looked at this beautiful scenery, and he was a little affectionate and lonely in obsession.

My father knew that today was not missing the arrival of his ancestors, and that there were more urgent things waiting for them to do.

"Kids, let's go, there's a better place ahead. Father shouted.

The children walked ashore with a little reluctance in the clothes of the ** and turned back one step at a time. Although it is autumn, the sun is blooming brightly today, and the children are strong and do not feel very cold.

As they followed their father forward, they saw a different scene, a low house-shaped stone hill on the lawn, the top of which was already arched by shrubs, and a few small birds standing in the treetops combing their feathers with their beaks, and in front of the hill was a wall of tall trees and dense thorns, enclosing the house in the middle. There are still high and low lawns in the tree walls, and in some places they are connected to small rivers, and some water is not deep, and the water is printed with blue sky, white clouds, and green mountains in the distance.

Just as the children were looking at the tree wall, wondering who had planted it and whether it had grown naturally, they suddenly noticed several dark shadows running on the grass inside the tree wall, and occasionally a few pig-like cries.

When I got closer, I saw that there were more than a dozen wild boars, with a group of baby pigs foraging in the grass, and sometimes arching their hard long beaks into the mud to find grass roots or insects to eat.

The father saw all this, and without saying a word, he came to a high hill, climbed a camphor tree growing among the thorns, and stepped on the branches that stretched out of the tree, and came down into the tree wall in a few steps.

The children hurriedly followed in with their dogs.
