Chapter 32: No Forgiveness

Quietly following the two vague figures in front of him, Zar hid his figure in the darkness of the night, carefully keeping his distance. The second voice seemed to want to divert the topic that had just been unpleasant, and was casually talking about boring and trivial things, while his partner coped with it resignedly, and occasionally picked up a sentence.

After following them for a long time, the two figures stopped in front of a black-looking masonry building. Zar watched from a distance behind them, only to see them glance around alertly, and then turned and slipped into the gate. Frowning, Zar tightened his grip on the hilt of his sword underneath his cloak and leaned over with a hunched over.

The view from the building was dark, with only a few pale moonlight streams streaming in through the shattered windows. After darling in through the doorway, he quickly hid behind empty barrels stacked in the corner. The faint sound of conversation came intermittently, and through the gap between the barrels, Zal saw the two figures turn in at a low brick wall and disappear.

After a brief recollection of the direction he had entered, Zar tightened his cloak and quickly followed. As he also rounded the low wall, he saw a slowly descending staircase, and at the end of the twenty or so steps, the road turned into darkness to the left, illuminated by torches in the corner.

"Such a hidden entrance, without those two guys leading the way, would not have been able to be discovered at all...... What the hell are you hiding here?" thought to Zar in his heart.

Slowing down as little as he could, Zar grabbed the hem of his cloak with one hand and pressed the other tightly against the hilt of his sword as he groped down the steps. As he walked, listening carefully, Zar noticed that the conversation between the two men continued, but much farther away than before. Moreover, it seems to be slowly sinking.

Descending the steps, he stopped when Zar turned two corners and suddenly noticed that the stone arch at the end of the steps appeared in front of him, and a bright fire radiated from it. Retract your body back into the last corner. The voices of conversation ahead became incoherently clear, and there was a slight hint of inflection.

By the light of the fire through the arches, Zar saw a spacious and bright wine cellar. Dozens of giant barrels were neatly stacked in two rows, lying horizontally and fixed to the ground. Beside the wall stood groups of empty wine racks, some covered in cobwebs, some in tatters and crooked to the side.

The two "guides" who were followed by Zar stopped at a giant barrel at the end of the cellar. Then, one of them seemed to touch something. Before Zar could see clearly, he heard a dull loud bang beneath the stone bricks, and then, with a roar that filled the entire cellar, the barrel shook and moved.

Zhal's gaze, hidden under the hood, suddenly flickered, and countless thoughts flashed through his mind in an instant. He didn't know if he would be able to find the mechanism, let alone what was hidden beneath the barrel. If possible, this will be his best chance...... The next moment. He suddenly burst out of the darkness behind the arch and went straight to the two figures who were still talking!

A loud roar drowned out the sound of Zal's light footsteps, and under the fluttering hood, two cold gazes locked on the prey in front of them. At this moment, one of the men seemed to be shaken by the dark shadow in the afterglow, and subconsciously turned his head to glance at it. But his frightened expression slowly spread on the face that turned back!

Finally, the other man also noticed the abnormality, turned sharply, and drew the short knife from his waist. "You are ......," his voice was muffled by a loud roar. Almost inaudible.

Before he could finish his words, Zar had already rushed in front of him, and after the "Sishua" under the cloak wiped an arc of light in front of him, a puff of blood mist erupted from his throat, and his eyes narrowed and he took a few steps backwards, and collapsed.

At the same time, Zal's left hand was already outstretched and grabbed the other man's neck, pushing him backwards and slamming him against the wall. The long sword that had been thrown aside was retracted, held by Zhal, and slowly passed it over from his face, stopping steadily at a finger's distance in front of the other party's eyes.

"Boom ......"

With a final roar, the barrel finally stopped moving after revealing a pitch-black entrance to the ground. As if had been said beforehand, all the sounds died down at this moment, and the whole cellar was as quiet as if nothing had happened. Or rather, it's happened, but it's too fast.

The lips of the man who was caught by Zar's neck and pressed against the wall trembled, his face faded to the last trace of blood, and he looked extremely pale in the bright light of the fire. He stared stunned at the tip of the sword that was close at hand, and on the other side, the owner of the sword, who was looking at his own person in the darkness under the hood.

He didn't dare to speak, he didn't dare to move, for he had already seen the end of the rebellion—his partner, who had been boasting to him just a moment ago, was now slumped on the edge of the wall, and streams of blood were pouring out of his open mouth and the incision in his neck.

Zar glanced at the entrance above ground, which was a slightly narrow flight of steps, sandwiched between the stone walls flat and reflecting a floating glow of fire. "What are you hiding here?" he asked in a low voice.

When the man heard the question, his body trembled unnaturally, as if he was frightened. "I didn't ...... It has nothing to do with me, I don't do anything, I swear, I don't do anything......" he repeated incoherently, snot and tears instantly filling his cheeks.

Zal frowned, and was about to speak, when a faint voice came up from the darkness below the steps. "Damn, is that you? Joff, give me a word!" Zar saw a faint glow of fire, as if someone was standing at the end of the steps, looking upward.

With a slight force in his hand, Zal stared at the man and tilted his head, and the other party immediately shouted at the top of his voice. "Yes...... Yes, we are!"

"Come down quickly!" yelled the man below, "Hell, it took me so long to get you two idiots to burn something......" the voice said, drifting away.

Zal's voice was lowered. "Burn what?" he asked in a cold voice, "what the hell are you doing here?!"

"Burn, burn...... man's pupils suddenly shrank, as if he thought of something more terrible, "No, no. I don't want to! I swear, they forced me to do it, I swear! I'm going to hell, I'm going to ......" His struggle grew more intense and louder, and Zar gritted his teeth hard. A click snapped his neck.

Looking at the man who slowly collapsed from the wall, Zal was even more puzzled. He took a few steps back, taking a staggered view of the darkness beneath the entrance. After realizing that the man with the torch should have left, he carefully slipped into it with his sword.

Adjusting to the dim light a little, Zal's steps on the steps slowly quickened, as he noticed that it was a sloping downhill of surprising length. The further down he went, the more frightened he became. At its current depth, the staircase leads far below ground level. What was the purpose of the "Brotherhood of Ironstone" digging up such a big project? He couldn't help but think in his heart.

After a long time, Zal's feet finally landed on the flat ground, and he was greeted by a corridor with a tall brazier. But at this moment, he noticed that around the corner in front of him, a moving fire accompanied by the sound of a human voice, slowly approached. "These two damn things. Haven't you come down yet?......"

Zar suddenly moved, and rushed forward silently. At the moment when the other party turned the corner in his own words, he was startled by a black shadow that rushed in front of him. Without waiting for the other to exclaim, Zar covered his mouth with the palm of his hand, and a sword pierced his chest, his gaze darkening in a series of low whines. In the end, he fell limply, and the whole time, he did not make a sound.

Towing the body away from the brazier, Zal looked up at the environment behind the corner, only to see the passage beneath his feet disappear into a large stone door not far ahead. There seemed to be some light flickering inside. I can't really see it. On the right side of the road, a spacious stone house was excavated, judging from the furnishings in the house, this should be the gatekeeper of the entire underground project, but unfortunately, the three people who were originally guarding here were disposed of by themselves.

Taking a deep breath, Zar lowered his body and felt in the direction of the stone gate. However, the moment he passed through the stone gate, the gaze shot from under the hood was obviously stunned. Although he had been mentally prepared, Zal was still fixed on the spot by the huge project hidden underground in front of him.

It was a large rectangular space, about thirty feet high, and Zal was currently standing on the platform at the entrance. On the side walls on both sides of the platform, a walkway about two people wide surrounds the entire space, connecting the small doors distributed on the long side. Overhead, copper-plated chandeliers lined up in a straight line provide a faint illumination of the space below, but what really caught Zal's attention was the cylindrical transparent vessels that lay on the ground.

They are large in size and numerous in number, each of which has a height of about one person. In the very center around these vessels, there was a larger, larger creature standing silently. What's even more bizarre is that these vessels seem to contain a pale red solution, and they actually glow with a bewitching red glow.

Glancing down from the platform, after making sure that the high level of safety was assured, Zar gave up the steps and jumped straight from the top. As soon as he landed, Zal's heart was suddenly startled, he smelled the smell of blood, which had settled at the bottom of the space, and the smell of blood was extremely strong.

Standing up slowly, Zar held down the hilt of his sword under his cloak and walked towards one of the vessels. But as the distance drew closer, his steps suddenly stopped, and then the soles of Zal's feet took a difficult step, and his hand, trembling out from under his cloak, struggled in the air, and pressed against the outer wall of the vessel.

Two lines of silent tears fell from the darkness under the hood and dripped to the ground. He saw a petite baby in the reddish liquid, with his eyes closed, suspended there. Several narrow stems were stuck in his body, drawing crimson blood out of the opening at the top of the vessel.

Zar staggered back a few steps, his bloodshot eyes staring blankly...... He saw red, all the same red, all the same scene......

"Kid...... They're just kids......"

Zar felt that the hardest thing in his heart was shattered in an instant. His body trembled, and the bones and muscles of his body seemed to be whipped by a leather whip, and he kept popping up in bursts of uncontrollable spasms. His teeth grinded together, making a hideous sound, and the tears in his eyes flowed out as if they had burst the embankment.

He watched as the bundled pipes protruded from the different vessels and surged in the same direction. Running wildly, Zal stood stunned in the middle of the countless vessels. He saw a huge glass cylinder, and inside it, a monster with only half of its body left, suspended in the air by chains.

Its skin is dark red, and its two crooked skulls hang low, with only bone spurs visible on the top of its head. All that was left of the body was the right arm and a small part of the ribcage, and everything else seemed to be torn apart and mutilated. And on its back, countless tubes pierced his body, seemed to be absorbed by it, and re-transformed into drops of blood floating with black gas, dripping from its stump to the funnel below, and flowing somewhere else.

Zal's mouth opened and closed silently, he saw what the old moon demon Ulez had seen, and he finally understood why "even if you die, you must be punished for the ...... of the sins you have committed".

He'd seen sin, whether it was before coming to Windy Cliff or in the four years he'd lived here, he'd seen countless sins. However, he never imagined that the evil of the world would be cruel and evil to the point of burning the demons in hell.

Rage, hot rage burned from his chest to Zal's limbs. "That's the other half of the recipe...... You ......" his voice was shattered and hoarse. Then he pulled out "Sishua" and suddenly rushed towards the glass cylinder!"You are not worthy of being human!" he roared angrily, and slashed down with a sword! A violent hiss accompanied by a cold light cut a bright slice on the surface of the cylinder!

The next moment, the cylinder exploded into countless splashes of glass fragments, and the demon corpse inside was split in two, and the thick blood plasma gushed out as if it had exploded!

At this moment, on the trail in the upper left, a fierce voice suddenly came out. "Who are you! Damn it! Come on, someone's breaking in!

Zal looked at the shouting figure, rolled up his cloak and rushed to the glassware next to him. Kick the side wall, jump up, and climb the tubular stem bundled together with your left hand to exert your strength again. When the other party reacted, Zal had already jumped on top of his head, and the dull "Sishua" slashed down fiercely!

"Poof!"

The long sword directly slashed half of the opponent's body, and the thick blood drew a tragic arc on the wall, but his shouts had already alarmed the entire underground space! Dozens of Brotherhood members who heard the sound poured out from the small doors on both sides, and they shouted loudly and rushed to the location where Zal was.

Shaking his head sharply to look at the enemy in the distance, on the half of his face covered by the hood, Zal's eyes were full of scarlet anger, he didn't run away, and he didn't think about running away at all, he only said one word.

"You have sins that can be forgiven!" (to be continued......
