5. Residential space
For many years, the Chinese have been deeply affected
Influenced by the concept of "the sky is round and the place is round", most of the daily items are round or square. For example, traditional architecture is dominated by squares, supplemented by circles.
Traditional Chinese houses, whether they have external walls or interior halls, are mostly square. Flat and stable, revealing a dignified and impartial momentum, people can't help but be awe-inspired.
Feng Shui focuses on this type of square house. In Feng Shui, it is better to have a house square.
If it is elongated or irregular, it is considered unlucky. However, the design of the buildings in the city is narrow or irregular, and most people have no choice but to buy them, but there is always a shadow in their hearts, and it is difficult to live with peace of mind.
First, let's talk about the elongated and narrow hall. The so-called narrow length means that the length is more than double the width. For example, if the length is 10 meters and the width is only 4 meters, it is a long and narrow length, which is not only unsatisfactory in terms of feng shui, but also difficult to deal with in terms of interior design.
In this case, the best solution is to divide the living room into two with furniture such as low cabinets and dressers, and cut the long strip into two square spaces, which is not only in line with the principles of Feng Shui, but also can change the look and feel that it no longer looks cramped.
In doing so, there are a few things to keep in mind: the separated parts should be as close to the midline as possible, because then the two parts that separate them will be square, otherwise they will lose their original meaning.
Lower furniture should be used as far as possible, such as a low cabinet or dressing table of more than three feet, as this will allow the two separate spaces to communicate with each other.
If you use tall cabinets or high slab walls for partitioning, this is greatly reduced. Furniture used as a partition should be avoided as much as possible towards the front door.
If this is the case, it will be detrimental to the people in the room, especially when it comes to health. Therefore, care should be taken not to allow such low cabinets to be placed in front of the child's door.
If there is no way to avoid it, the only way to remedy it is to put potted plants next to the low cabinet. The long and narrow hall mentioned is the same method for the narrow bedroom, which can be divided into two.
If you lie on the bed and look at such a long and narrow bedroom, you will feel lonely and cold, and those who are sensitive will have a lot of hallucinations because of their cranky thoughts.
However, if you divide this narrow bedroom into two with a low cabinet, one side is used for the powder room or study, and the other side is used for sleeping, and if you place a television set on the low cabinet, you can enjoy TV while lying on the bed.
After such a change, there is no longer a sense of emptiness in the bedroom, and I feel much more comfortable psychologically.
One thing to note is that some mirrors are used as a partition between bedrooms, which is not appropriate!
If the mirror is facing the powder room or study, it is fine; However, if you go to the bed, you will commit the taboo of Feng Shui, which often leads to the occurrence of diseases.
