Chapter 525: Schiller's Origin Story (Part II)
Steve pressed the projector on the table, and a list was projected onto the wall, and everyone could see the cryologist who met one of the screening criteria.
There are not many scholars on the entire planet who can be called cryologists, and even if you count those who have passed away, the number is only in the triple digits.
Thinkers
Among these people, there are probably only a few dozen more famous scholars who are likely to be able to develop such a genius cryogenic technology, and about 30 of them have spouses.
However, neurodegenerative disease is a relatively rare case, and none of the 30 cryologists have a wife suffering from this rare disease.
Even, among the 30 cryologists, except for two widows and eight divorces, the rest can be called happy families and happy lives, and there are no tragic stories of life and death.
At this point, Strange spoke again: "I said before that I am the best neurosurgeon in the world, and if anyone had this relatively rare case, I should have at least seen it, or heard of it, but I really didn't. β
"Also, when he gave me the information, he stressed to me that the patient could not come to the consultation, but if it was his friend's story, as he said, then even if the patient could not come due to physical reasons, why didn't Schiller's friend, as the husband, come forward himself?"
Stark's voice came from inside the suit, and he said, "If there really is such a person in this world, then I will definitely not find it." β
No one will think that he is talking big, because, in addition to being Iron Man, Stark is also the leader of the Stark Group and the richest man in the world with the world's largest capital.
Coupled with Jarvis's artificial intelligence and Stark's unparalleled information-gathering technology, such a person, if you are determined to find someone, is absolutely impossible to find.
But Stark did not find a cryologist who matched Schiller's description, whether he was still alive or deceased, as long as there was such a person in human civilization, Stark would definitely be able to find his traces, but the fact is, there is no clue.
"So, is this just a rhetoric he made to cover up his story?" Steve frowned, and he said, "Another suspicious point is that Schiller actually named his sanatorium Arkham Sanatorium. β
"Where did the surname Arkham come from? And the sanatorium has already moved once, and he is still unwilling to give up the name. β
"Tony, can you find the last name Arkham?"
"I'm looking." Stark replied, and after a while, he said with some confusion, "No, no, I have sifted through all the information of people in the history of mankind who are related to the name Arkham, but it does not match. β
"It's probably not a surname, it's a middle name." Matt asked again, and he continued: "And don't forget, that if Schiller tries to cover up a man's tracks, you may not be able to find them. β
Everyone knows that if the story of that cryologist friend is true, then it doesn't make sense that nothing can be found out.
Because Schiller has no need to hide the identity of his friend, although it is a little shocking to freeze his wife to wait for treatment, but at this point, it doesn't matter what others think, but it is possible to get more help by publicizing his situation.
It would be a little more convincing to replace this situation with Schiller himself.
"As far as I know, many people in the medical profession have spouses who are their peers." Strange spoke again.
So, Steve opened his mouth to connect the story.
"Schiller was hospitalized because he was speechless when he witnessed his parents being killed as a child, perhaps because he was stimulated."
"During the period of treatment in a psychiatric hospital, he did not receive enough attention and developed an antisocial personality."
"He spent his teenage years in a mental hospital, and perhaps it was during this period that he met his former lover, who cured him, and Schiller gradually transformed into a normal person."
"After that, he embarked on an academic path in search of the secrets of the human psyche and spirit, and achieved great achievements."
"But then, his wife contracted a neurodegenerative disease that could not be cured by current medical treatments, and he had to use a cryotechnology to freeze it in anti of the development of human medical technology."
"Perhaps, there has been no progress in this area for a long time, which is also one of the reasons why he is now mentally ill again." Steve sighed.
"Well, the key is still with his wife." Stark accentuated his tone, and he asked, "Does anyone know where Schiller goes every time he goes on vacation?" β
Everyone shook their heads, Peter hesitated, and then said, "All I know is that every time Dr. Schiller leaves, he doesn't take anything with him, and it doesn't look like a vacation ......"
"That means he probably has another home where he can live directly, and maybe that's where he and his wife used to live......"
"But it is impossible for Schiller to tell us exactly where his wife is." Steve found a chair and sat down, then said, "Obviously, he doesn't trust anyone on this issue. β
"We'll have to find it ourselves." Stark suggested, saying, "Perhaps for emotional reasons, Schiller came to the conclusion that no one needed help, or he thought it was more necessary to conceal it." β
"But it's not like that, we can all understand him and be willing to help him, it's not a big deal, if magic doesn't work, let's ask Asgard, if Asgard doesn't, we'll ask other cosmic gods......"
"On the whole, the diseases of human beings may not be difficult to solve in the eyes of these non-human beings, but if they can be solved, they may be able to fundamentally solve Schiller's mental problems.
"The question is, where do we start?" Peter had a headache and said, "I have been borrowing from Dr. Schiller for a long time, but I have not found any clues. β
"As long as a thing has its roots, it will inevitably leave traces." Steve affirmed, "As long as this person ever existed, it would be impossible not to leave any clues." β
"We still have to start with Schiller." Matt suggested: "Perhaps we can find some traces of his life with his wife in the environment in which he lived. β
Steve slapped the table and began to set the task, saying:
"Peter, you went to the Hell's Kitchen clinic where you lived with Schiller, and I remember that Schiller must have left quite a few things there."
"The Arkham sanatorium on Wall Street before Stephen went there, it probably hasn't been renovated yet, and maybe there are some traces."
"As for me, I'll go to the new sanatorium, and maybe I'll find some of Schiller's habits there......"
After Steve's arrangement, Stark looked at him, and he looked at Stark, and Steve shrugged his shoulders and said, "I don't think Schiller, judging by his current state of mind, he probably won't like you rushing into his nursing home." β
Stark snorted, then said, "How are you going to get into his new nursing home?" Over the wall? β
"And how are you going to get in?"
Half an hour later, Stark got out of the sports car, Steve came out from the other side, closed the door, Stark swaggered into the door of the nursing home, and as soon as he walked in, he was stopped by the nurse.
Before the nurse could speak, Stark moved the sunglasses off his face for a moment, then looked at the nurse from above the sunglasses and said, "Don't you know who I am?" β
"Oh, you're Stark, the richest man in the world!" The nurse was shocked, but then silently took two steps back, apparently hearing Stark's comments.
Steve stepped forward and patted Stark on the shoulder and said, "It seems that brushing your face doesn't work very well?" β
"Who said I was going to brush my face?" Stark snorted, stopped the nurse and said, "I want to go to the dean's office, how should I go?" β
"This is a nursing home by appointment, so you need to have a ......"
"How much is the highest level of lifetime membership?"
The nurse's eyes lit up, and she immediately led Stark to the front desk with a smile, Stark pressed twice on the device on his wrist, and with a jingle bell, the sound of the money arriving sounded, and the nurse immediately said:
"Now, you can use all the facilities for free, and we have a number of benefits......"
"I just want to go to the dean's office."
"Well, but the dean himself is not here, this ......"
"Do you think he would turn down a premium lifetime membership that costs so much money? If one isn't enough, I can top up another one, and I'm sure you should know something about your dean......"
When the nurse heard this, she thought about it for a while, and seemed to think that what Stark said made sense, if Schiller was here, Stark was willing to spend so much money, and Schiller must have invited him into the dean's room with a smile.
Thinking about this, the nurse pointed to the stairs and said, "There is a second room on the left hand side of the fourth floor, but I'm not sure if the door is locked, and I don't know if there is a key, and if you can't get in, then there is no way." β
Stark shook his head and motioned for Steve to follow, Steve shook his head helplessly, no one is better than Stark in terms of the ability to use money.
Coming to the door of the dean's room on the 4th floor, Stark found that the door was not locked, he walked straight inside, and then began to rummage through the room with Steve.
These Dean's offices are very spacious, with bright floor-to-ceiling windows and new, modern dΓ©cor, with a huge desk on the east side of the room, which is densely packed with papers.
It took two of them a long time just to go through these things, but they didn't find anything except some messy medical records.
On the top of this desk are bookshelves, and on the bottom side is a row of drawers, all of which can be opened at will, and there are stacks of paper documents inside, only the bottom drawer is locked.
Steve Stark noticed this, and they went over to the desk and crouched down, then began to study the drawer.
Strangely, the drawer had no handles or keyholes, and was more like a solid box than a drawer, looking completely unopenable.
Stark hesitated for a moment, giving up on the violent disassembly, and he stood up and gave his mech a different core.
As the magic flickered, a spot of light appeared on Stark's hand armor, and he pressed his finger against the cabinet door, and the magic energy was channeled along the cabinet door, and then found a very special lock on the inside of the cabinet door.
With a click, the lock was opened, and Stark reached out and pulled the cabinet door open, revealing an old-fashioned folder in his field of vision.
Above the folder, a badge with a sickle, a hammer, and a red flag gleaming.
