Testimonials at the end of the volume: Lycaon and Oedipus
From November 1st to February 1st, three full months, 360,000 words! The longest volume of the book is finally over!
The name of this volume is "Wolf Words", the bright line is "Lycaon", and the dark line is "Love".
Lycaon was a king in Greek mythology who had a daughter named Calliste. Zeus approached her in the guise of Artemis, the goddess of the hunt, and had a child with her called Artemis. Jealous, Hera turned Calliste into a she-bear, so that Calliste could no longer take care of her child, who was left to be raised by Lycaon.
Zeus, intending to test Lycaon's virtues, descended to earth, proclaimed himself Zeus, and lived in his house. Wanting to test Zeus's powers and find out if he really knew everything, Lycaon killed Arcas and cooked his flesh and gave it to Zeus.
Enraged, Zeus turned Lycaon into a bloodthirsty werewolf and resurrected Arcas, inheriting Lycaon's throne. Later, when he grew up, he went out hunting, found a huge female bear, and excitedly planned to kill her - but Zeus found out about this, and in order to prevent mother and child from killing each other, he turned Arcas into a cub who could get close to the mother bear, and raised them to the celestial realm, becoming the constellations Ursa Major and Ursa Minor.
If you know this myth, you can understand why I called this volume "Wolf Words".
Its dark line, that is, the theme, is the "love" of the three similar but different people, Strangulation, Inferior, and Sheath, and the Oedipus-like plot that leads from this, and uses this volume to complete these three characters.
Among them, the strangulation kills the father before the plot begins, and the inferior kills the father during the plot, which also indicates that the sheath will die at the end of the volume.
I originally wanted to build a battle scene here, but I thought it would be childish to talk about it in battle. So I plan to use a kind of "snowball fight" style plot to interpret the core of the sheath. This sacrifices some of the rhythm and tension of the story, but I think it will better tell the story of "why the sheath should be damned...... Of course, from another point of view, it may have been told with the plot earlier.
But in that case, the mood at the time of the sheath will become too high-pitched. So much so that the demise of the sheath would make him seem like a complete villain, and thus lose him.
So I thought about it for a long time, and I decided to deal with it this way.
In fact, according to the original outline, the strangulation should be dead in this volume, to form a sharp contrast with the inferior. But in the end, the cat didn't put up with it, and let the strangulation survive. There should be a clear sense of "timeline has changed" here.
Just like the name of Chapter 52 in the middle of this volume, "The Poison of Love", and as Chapter 108 says, "Of all things in the world, only love and hope are the most poisonous."
By the way, according to my outline, this sentence should appear in chapter one hundred and four, so it is exactly twice as much as the first one. I really like this kind of shallow foreshadowing, but my ability to control the plot is still not very good. The amount of text in the plot is completely exceeded, even if there are many chapters in the middle of the two-in-one, it can't be controlled to the one hundred and fourth chapter......
In the outline, the word count of this volume should be 28w, which is twice the 14w of a standard volume. But in fact, if you write 80,000 more words, you will still be unconscious......
Russell has almost grown to the top of his game, and there are still two steps to go.
And the next volume, the last volume of the book.
Including the awakening triggered by Russell's own rumors, and the confrontation between the church and the dragon...... and the story of saving the world and giving "possibility" as a "hero" in the end. The rest is the final struggle.
By the way, the movie review about Little Wrecking Ball 2 that was said before -
This movie really exceeded my expectations. And I believe that this wide range of emotion and shock should be based on the fact that most audiences don't really understand the movie - that is, they can still feel that this is a good story without understanding the foreshadowing. That's exactly what I'm after, and hopefully my storytelling skills will be touched by that in my lifetime......
In order for the audience to understand, the director chose a very good technique. It's about repeating important information over and over again.
After realizing this, then we only need to look for the most repeated information to catch the clues.
The main clue of The Wandering Earth 2 is MOSS, which gives a very clear idea. After all the key events, there is a close-up of the camera...... Combined with the final easter egg, the whole story can be revealed. Tu Hengyu's car accident is obviously related to MOSS - his car accident has nothing to do with whether he looks at the road or not, because they are all autopilot. And the mud truck that created him is also fully AI-controlled...... I could see very clearly that the mud truck had no cab.
And if you want to create half of it exactly, leaving only half of Yaya's life, but allowing Tu Hengyu to still be alive, you also need extremely accurate calculations. There is no doubt that this is what MOSS manipulates. In his conversation with Wu Jing, he also mentioned that "I can mobilize all the connected devices". The two plots are not far apart, which means that it is a plot group.
And Li Xuejian looked thoughtfully at the camera lens, echoing what he said, "I believe that our people will be able to complete the task". But it should be noted here that what he said seemed to be hinting at Andy Lau and Yaya on the surface, but in fact, the process of Andy Lau entering the password to the last second can be said to be the director's artistic performance, or it can be said to be completely useless.
Because it only takes 1.7 seconds for Yaya to upload to cause a crisis in the earth and moon. And this number is very ingenious, and I see a lot of interpretations that UP does not mention.
Why 1.7 seconds? Because in the case of a space elevator, the Earth-Moon signal limit is 1.28 seconds. The remaining 0.42 seconds is actually MOSS's thinking time, and 1.28 + 0.42 is exactly 1.7 seconds. And in The Wandering Earth 1, I also clearly played this stalk, the so-called "The ultimate answer to the universe is 42".
In other words, a 50,000-digit password can be unlocked in a split second. And that time was four minutes ago.
And that 97% of the progress started to move, after that little brother slapped the button. That is to say, in fact, Tu Hengyu's password does not have any effect if he does not enter it, because the little brother slapped the button, and at this time, if the server does not start, everyone will die together, so MOSS links to the server. This is a sword-wielding plot.
Then, "our people will definitely be able to complete the task, whether it is real or not, regardless of survival." This is obviously the foreshadowing of the third part.
We can see a detail from the very abrupt flashback plot at the end that does not appear before. One is the picture of the white-haired Li Xuejian with a button tied to his hand, and the other is the picture of the bald figure Hengyu driving an exoskeleton mecha.
And at the end of our ball 1, that is, three years after the end of the plot of ball 1, Liu Qi and Li Yi went out on a mission one by one. That year happened to be the year of the helium flash crisis. We can see very clearly that the outside can be said to be calm, and there is no momentum at all that the rebels in the original book can pull up half of the people. So we can be sure that the plot here must have changed.
But from another point of view, it can also be said that it has not changed. I think the current Wandering Earth should be the story of the second week.
In 1987, China received its first warning. At that time, quantum computers had not been invented, which meant that this was a warning for the future. And 1987 has a special meaning because it is the "International Year of the Resettlement of the Homeless".
And across time, there is a clear hint at the end. The infinitely overlapping study is exactly the same as the infinitely overlapping study at the end of Interstellar in terms of picture structure. And we all know that at the end of Interstellar, the action of knocking out the dust to transmit intelligence is the same as the knocking on the door.
As for knocking on the door - who is the person outside the door?
I think it's Ma Zhao. Ma Zhao was very obvious from beginning to end to conniving at Tu Hengyu's plan, especially when uploading Yaya, he was the one who rushed in to arrest him after Yaya was uploaded. And by analyzing the name, we can find that "Zhao" is M, which is the same as the initial letter of Moss, and everyone can think of what Hengyu means.
Of course, we have an off-market information here...... That is, the dead Ma Zhao will still star in Ball 3, and the ranking is quite high. That means he's a key player in Ball 3.
Then let's go back to "Erzhoumu" - if the picture of the bald head picture Hengyu opening the mecha is a week, it makes sense. I specifically checked the photos from the Internet, and the bald head of the picture Hengyu's eyes are the same size. But because of the injury in the car accident, Tu Hengyu's two eyes should not be the same size. In other words, Tu Hengyu had not experienced a car accident at that time.
I speculate that the plot is something like this: the original Wandering Earth story, that is, the rebels believe that the sun will not die and start a world war. In the end, helium flashed when he sang "My Sun" - this plot first does not conform to the style of the Spring Festival file, and secondly, he does not match the idea conveyed by Ball 1 Ball 2, that is, the theme of "people can decide the fate of the future".
This is supposed to be the story before history is changed, and the plot of Ball 3 may be a three-line structure. One is that MOSS has never come to the past, sending warning messages and changing the future, curtailing the possibility of other plans, changing the future in an attempt to make the Wandering Earth project lose resistance, thus changing the "original history"; The second line is the changed past, that is, the part of the plot from 1987 to the beginning of 2000; The third part is the story of the three weeks, that is, the story of the future Tu Hengyu and Moss who come back from the future and face choices when changing the past.
As with the interstellar theme, I felt it might be a Destiny Stone Gate-esque story.
If Li Xuejian's words "someone is helping us" and "I believe in our people, regardless of reality or survival", refers to the future Tu Hengyu (and possibly Wu Jing, I remember that the official picture said that Wu Jing was also uploaded), then according to Tu Hengyu's character, he is very likely to choose not to let the mud truck create the past at that point in time, and then change the past to save his wife and maid.
But in that case, Yaya wouldn't die, and Tu Hengyu wouldn't be uploaded to MOSS. The future could be changed again, and I predict that Ball 3 might do something here. But it's hard to say how to deal with it, look at the director!
Well, it's a bit too much to talk about, it's more than 3,000 words......
Finally, routinely take a day off. No. 2 resumes the update.
Then there is the teaser for the next volume of The Tower......
Volume 9: "Shooting Stars".
- The last volume, asking for tickets at the beginning of the month!
