Chapter 8: Zaun Victor

As he spoke, the corners of Ryan's mouth turned up slightly, and with a flip of his palm, a dark blue crystal bead appeared in his hand.

"Hex Crystals? How is this possible!? Victor exclaimed, as if he had seen something that wasn't supposed to be.

"There's nothing surprising to say, the Hex Crystal wasn't your or Jace's creation, and even though you've gone further down this path, you still can't control it." Ryan said meaningfully.

"But... The Council should have taken control of all the production and use of crystals. Victor hesitated.

Ryan handed the crystal to Victor without care, and a smile rose on the corner of his mouth: "So, you are a scientist." ā€

He pointed to the group of aristocrats who were singing and dancing, and "They are politicians. ā€

"And I—" he finally pointed his fingertips at himself.

Seeing that Ryan was not speaking, Victor replied tentatively, "Mage? ā€

"Nope." Ryan shook his head and replied with a smile, "It's a Noxian!" ā€

"It seems that Lord Ryan has a strong sense of belonging to the Noxian Empire." Victor thought of Zuan, and inevitably felt a little sad in his heart.

"It's not just belonging, it's the empire that gives me the confidence to speak. To tell the truth, I don't have the superior force of General Darius, nor can I compare my scientific and technological attainments to Professor Heimerdinger, and I am not as good as Karma the Apocalypse in terms of mana. But I stood on the land of Phi City, and no one could say no to me. Ryan said calmly.

Victor stared deeply at Ryan, noncommittal to his words.

Noxus is powerful, but it is only because of the gathering of a group of people as strong as Ryan that it is strong. Ryan can represent Noxus because he is one of the strongest people in Noxus.

And he is different, he has Zu'an in his heart and wants to change Zu'an. But his identity is just a research assistant, and his reputation is far less than that of Jace.

If this continues, how can he transform Zuan...

Victor fell silent, and some thoughts suddenly sprung up in his mind that he shouldn't have.

After a moment's deliberation, he looked around, and no one paid attention to them except for Caterina's wandering eyes, which seemed to have nothing to do.

He hesitated for a long time, and finally said with a confused look:

"Lord Ryan, there's something I'd like to ask."

He didn't know why he asked the person in front of him for advice, they were obviously the same age, but he felt that he had nothing to hide in front of the other party.

"We're here to help." Ryan smiled kindly.

He was happy to see the genius in front of him open his heart to him, and the door of Noxus was always open to the other party.

Victor had a look of distress on his face, "You said before that we can't control the Hex Crystal. Actually, Professor Heimerdinger said something similar a few hours ago. But I can hear the difference between the two, and the professor thinks that the redevelopment of Hextech will have very serious consequences. And in your tone, I heard something else. ā€

"I agree with Heimerdinger, but I'm standing a little differently than he sees." Ryan said.

"We just want to apply it to people's livelihood, so that the lives of the people of Zu'an can be completely better." Victor was slightly excited.

"I can understand your feelings, it's in line with my feelings for Noxus." Ryan reached out and patted Victor on the shoulder, and the tone changed, "But have you ever thought about it, can you control it?" ā€

"They're already stable and basically won't cause accidental damage." Speaking of professionalism, Victor's face is full of confidence.

Ryan shook his head and said, "No, no, no, I'm not Heimerdinger, and I don't think about the harm caused by accidents. I'm asking you, what would the Zaun people do if they had mastered Hextech? ā€

"They will..."

Victor wanted to talk about the manpower savings they had made with technology, and talk about the people of Zuan who had been lifted out of poverty.

But when he saw Ryan's smiling face, he realized that what the other party seemed to want to hear was not that.

Ryan suddenly turned his head to Caterina next to him, and asked nonchalantly, "What will be the outcome of this battle between 100 warriors guarded by Resor and 1000 ordinary tribal warriors of Freljord, without the intervention of the leader?" ā€

The Resor garrison was the most elite army of the Emperor of Noxus, while Freldrod was located in the far north of Valoran, where most of the uncivilized tribes lived.

Caterina sneered: "Don't say 100, just 10 Resor garrisons can slaughter the enemy." ā€

"Why?" Ryan smiled.

"The equipment gap is too big, even if Freljord's stone spear is broken, it can't break through the armor of the Rayser garrison, not to mention that the Rayser garrison has a lot of special alchemy equipment." Caterina pursed her lips and said, "If you really want to be evenly matched, you have to fight against the warriors of the Upper Avarosa tribe, and there will be five times more than the Resor garrison. ā€

Ryan's gaze refocused on Victor and said earnestly:

"I think this analogy should answer your questions, scientist!"

He reread the last three words, as if deliberately to wake up the other party's innocence.

Victor smiled wryly, lowered his head, and struggled to explain:

"As long as it is restricted, Hextech can not be used in warfare."

After he finished speaking, he felt that what he said was so pale and weak. It's like Ryan can get the Hex Crystal, but they are just Leather City researchers, and it's hard to have a way to limit it.

"I always thought you were going to say it from Jace." Ryan was a little surprised, "Do you remember the environment in which you were born?" ā€

"Impressed..."

Victor had nostalgia on his face, how could he have forgotten what he had seen and heard in Zaun. Because of this, he wants to use technology to change Zu'an.

"Think about what you wanted to do, why you stayed in Piltover. You're a smart guy, but you've been in Piltover for a little longer. ā€

As Mel and Jace walked out of nowhere, Ryan stood up and smiled:

"I had a good conversation with you today, if you need any help, you can come to the Noxus embassy to find me."

"Today you helped me solve the doubts in my heart, I should thank you." Victor had embarrassment on his face.

He had already figured everything out the moment Ryan finished the last sentence.

The other party is right... I had been in Piltover for so long that I had forgotten that I was a Zaan.

Looking at Ryan's departing back, Victor's eyes were filled with gratitude and determination to accomplish something.

……

In the evening, the most important moment of Piltover Evolution Day arrives.

Today's speaker is Jess Tallis, Piltover's most famous speaker at the moment.

In the Piltover Lecture Hall, everyone watched with anticipation as the tall boy stepped onto the podium, expecting him to tell the story of what new great inventions had come to Pilt City this year.
