Testimonials

Well, it's short, I know, it's the shortest book I've ever written. But the end here shouldn't have been too sudden?

In fact, it should be clear from the early stage that this is not a very long book, of course, according to the original plan, it should still be a little longer than now.

As the first original transformation work, the results of this book on the shelves have met expectations, and it has successfully won the badge of the starting point boutique channel. Thank you very much to all the readers who have given us the support of the subscription, thank you very much!

It's a pity that the results have not been stabilized after being put on the shelves, and many problems have naturally been exposed.

Looking back now, looking at the whole process of this book from the initial planning stage to the present, I personally summarized the core and biggest problem - I don't know if any book friends during the period saw it, that is, it was actually a card playing text.

That's right, the literal card playing text, as I mentioned in the final book of Duel City, a book with a world view, rule system, and card design are all original card playing texts.

Among them, the design of the magic spirit, spell cards, and trap cards is obviously borrowed from the Yu-Gi-Oh, and the rule system is also based on the Yu-Gi-Oh, combining elements of some other card games, as well as the system including the promotion of the magic spirit and the summoning of the spirit carving, it is also obvious that it should be the rules of playing cards.

Even the duel design for the battles in the first few chapters was already done by me.

However, when I tentatively proposed this idea in the final testimonial of Duel City, most of the book friends in the chapter review at that time expressed their disapproval. Everyone thinks that an original card game can be very unimmersive to read.

But I didn't give up at that time, so I put the first draft out first. Later, I submitted the manuscript to the editor, and the editor also said that he had never seen this kind of subject in the online article market, and he did not recommend it.

After discussing it with the more familiar authors, everyone also felt that this was too risky and likely to pounce.

So I made a big change on this basis, changing it from a card story to a more traditional card text that combines the elements of the beast.

And so the book came out.

I didn't realize it when I first opened the pit, but the more I wrote about it, the more problems it caused by this setting change.

Because it was a very bold attempt to make an original card play, I tried to make the story as routine as possible when designing the plot, which fits the online text market.

To put it simply, it's a new wine in an old bottle, and a completely original card story is written in the most classic and old-fashioned cool style as possible, and I think this will increase the reader's acceptance of this kind of adventure and attempt.

So many people may find that there will be a lot of changes in the style of this book compared to my previous pits. I tried to incorporate elements of popular classics as much as possible to make my niche genre more acceptable.

I don't know if that will work. Because when it was finalized, the playing system of the original case had been abandoned.

I swapped the new wine for the old one, and the effect was greatly reduced.

Of course, the work is meant to be written for people to see, no matter what the original manuscript is, what kind of factors are affected during the creation period, what the finished product is like, and what is lacking is insufficient.

Moreover, when I did the research, I did find that most people were not optimistic about the project of designing a card playing text. Therefore, even if it was really written out according to the original case in disregard of the opinions of others at that time, the market might not accept it, and the results would not necessarily be better than now.

This also involves another mistake that I realized I had made in this book.

At the beginning, the Giant of Light was my first work, and Duel City was my first book. What both books have in common when they open the pit is that no one was optimistic about it at first.

The Giant of Light opened the pit, and the theme elements of Ultraman did not become popular. Although it was not without authors, there were no masterpieces at that time. (Now available)

Integrating Ultraman into the Marvel elements that were popular at the time was actually a bit of a dangerous move. As I mentioned in my testimonial in that book, the first draft was also rejected by several editors, and it was almost stillborn. And if I'm not mistaken, it should be the first boutique book of Ultraman elements at the beginning.

Needless to say, Duel City. If the Giant of Light book at least borrowed the Marvel background of the fire at the time, then Duel City, a pure Yu-Gi-Oh fandom, was even more ridiculously niche at the starting point at that time.

Even the editor, who was already familiar with me at the time, poked me in a private message when she received the manuscript, asking me if I had thought about it seriously, because she thought that this kind of niche subject would be nine out of ten pounced.

Later, everyone also knew that Duel City was not only the first Yu-Gi-Oh boutique, but also the first 10,000 books. It has been in the top 10 of the light bestseller list for several months.

The point is that although my previous books were niche, they were all things that I was interested in, and they were things that I wanted to write. It's the kind of passion that comes with an overwhelming rush when you lift the pen, and you can't wait to turn all your inspiration into storytelling.

That's the second problem with this book, the lack of passion.

Probably many authors will encounter such a problem. Everyone may initially be interested in writing a story they like and telling it to more like-minded people. But over time, when the initial passion is worn off, everyone will inevitably have expectations for better data and better results.

So in order to achieve better results, we began to study the wind direction, began to learn to compromise, to study and adapt to the market. This is an essential step and a step, during which we will learn the skills and understand the preferences of the market, but at the same time we may also lose our original things.

If you want to write a story that touches people's hearts, you first have to be moved by your own story.

This was one of the biggest mistakes I made during the writing of this book, and I will try not to do it again in the future.

In addition, I also found some writing problems this time, and learned a lot of technical things, which can be regarded as rewarding.

In the case of a new book, it should be published as soon as possible, but the subject matter is still to be determined.

Recently, I was addicted to listening to Baye's new song "M87", and I was almost circulating in the skull. However, there is no new Ultraman movie in China to introduce the letter so far, and the resources cannot be found, without Brother Man, it feels like there are 10,000 Jeton crawling all over his body......

Maybe I'll try to go back and open this tokusatsu again?

Let's see where we can find our passion and motivation in the next two days.

But anyway, thank you very much for the support of every book friend. I hope I can bring you better works in the future.
