Chapter XVII: Professor Kettleburn

"Are you looking for something?"

A ghost standing in the air caused Professor Lorley and Pringer to stop.

"There's a student who broke the school rules, and it should be around here." Pringer hoped that a ghost would help them, so he said. "Did you see anything suspicious?"

The ghost pretended to think for a moment, and said, "Speaking of the little wizard who travels at night, I did see one at the staircase on the third floor just now, and he should have just escaped from here. ”

"It must be Gryffindor's naughty bag!" Pringer said hatefully, and quickly ran towards the staircase. "I'm going to catch him!"

Professor Lorey frowned, and glanced at the location of the stone pier again, but the sense of incongruity was gone. He shook his head and left the position in confusion.

The ghost in the air breathed a sigh of relief, and then saw Helena floating over curiously, and she asked, "Are you covering for the little wizard on the night tour?" ”

Xiwen laughed awkwardly and said, "I don't think it's easy for the little wizards......"

Helena looked at him suspiciously, but didn't ask any more.

……

At the same time, the little wizard Xiwen had already arrived in the hall on the first floor of the teaching area.

When he used his ghost identity to attract the attention of Professor Lorley and Pringer, he secretly took out his wand and recited the spell he had just learned during the day in a very soft voice, turning the soles of his shoes into cushions. Then he lightly left the two faculty members who were searching and came to the first floor.

Then, he tensed his nerves and stood under the stairs leading from the first floor to the second floor, until he heard the footsteps of the two of them disappearing, and he completely relaxed, and exhaled deeply.

'It's dangerous! Xiwen rubbed his face, and he felt his whole body freeze.

But fortunately, he finally achieved his goal.

Leaving the staircase where he was hiding, Xiwen walked to the closed gate of the castle, and he saw the iron bolt and the large lock hanging from it, but this did not discourage him.

Shewin reached out and pressed his hand against the door, feeling its thickness.

Then, he raised his left hand in a standing palm, and drew a circle with his wand in his right hand towards the door.

A ring glowing with golden light grew from small to large, eventually reaching the height of a man, clinging to the castle gates. From inside the golden ring, you can see the stars in the sky and the grass looming on the ground, which is the scene behind the gate!

'Who would have thought that I would be reduced to the point of reducing dimensional gates to a wall circle? Xiwen smiled self-deprecatingly, and walked through the ring to the outside of the castle.

……

Half an hour later.

Xiwen walked aimlessly on the lawn, feeling that the hope of finding the kitten was getting slimmer and slimmer.

"Accio Kitten!"

Reluctantly, he raised his wand and shouted into the open grass.

With his eyes closed, Xiwen thought about the kitten in his mind, hoping to summon her.

After about half a minute, Xiwen opened his eyesβ€”

A strange face with a scruffy beard suddenly appeared in front of him, and there was a very surprised expression on that big face.

"I'll go!" Xiwen burst into a foul mouth in fright, jumped backwards, and one of them fell to the grass without standing firmly.

"Professor Kettleburn, why are you here?" Reluctantly sitting up, he rubbed his head and asked with palpitations.

"I should have asked you this, right, yelling next to my house at night!" Professor Kettleburn glared at him and said menacingly. "If I'm not mistaken, it's curfew time."

Xiwen replied with a headache: "yes, but my cat can't be found, I really want to get her back." ”

Professor Kettleburn said angrily: "What can happen to a pet cat, maybe it will run out to play on its own, and after a few days it will return to the nest when it gets tired of playing." ”

Xiwen said: "But my cat hasn't opened its eyes at noon today, and the cat cage is still closed." ”

Professor Kettleburn's tone became even more annoyed, and he said, "Bring a kitten that hasn't opened its eyes to school? What do you think, what if you can't feed yourself? Are you responsible? ”

Hearing him say this, Xiwen suddenly remembered something and asked a little excitedly, "Professor, are you teaching a class on protecting magical beasts?" ”

Professor Kettleburn gave him a suspicious look and said, "Yes, is there any problem?" ”

Xiwen said: "I originally wanted to find you, and today is just right!" ”

Later, Shivin told Professor Kettleburn about his cat's anomaly.

The professor listened and listened, slowly gaining interest. He waved his hand and said, "Keep up!" ”

……

Professor Kettleburn took Shivin to his residence. He lived in a simple hut next to the Forbidden Forest, with only a bed, a table, and a chair. The dirty table sat by the narrow window, and on it was a large colored cauldron boiling water.

Xiwen glanced at the colorful cauldron and felt a little out of place with the simplicity of the room. So he looked again, and then he couldn't look away from it anymore.

"Professor, is this the shell of a fire crab? Used to boil water? Xiwen asked incredulously.

"Uh-huh, this gadget boils water quickly, it's very easy to make!" Professor Kettleburn sat down on the bed with a big grin, motioning for Sivan to sit in his chair.

Shewin bent down to remove the long, dusty brush that stood in front of him, and prepared to head to the chair. However, he froze again.

"This is, unicorn tail?" In disbelief, he reached out and touched it, clearly feeling the same touch as the tail hairs he had studied at home to make the core of his wand, and looked at Professor Kettleburn in shock.

The professor waved his hand and motioned for him to come over.

"Don't make a fuss, unicorns have tail hair that easily hangs on tree trunks, which is common in the Forbidden Forest." He said. "Sit here and tell me more about your cat."

Xiwen felt that he was numb, and it seemed that even if he was as rich as his own family, he could not have the luxury of taking a small pack of unicorn tail hairs of ten Galleons to make something like a brush......

Shaking his head vigorously, he forcibly shook off these shocked emotions, and began to tell how he bought the cat, what the cat's image was, what abnormal behavior he usually had, and the evaluation of experts.

The professor listened with interest, and from time to time interrupted Xiwen to ask for some details.

"You say, the cat cage is well closed, but the cat is gone?" He asked. "Could it be your roommate who let it go?"

Xiwen shook his head and said, "I don't think so, they don't have a motive to do this. ”

Nodding slightly, Professor Kettleburn pondered for a while, and suddenly said with a solemn face: "According to what you said, I only know one kind of feline that can pass through the closed cat cage out of thin air without destroying it......"

"That's Sugo!"
