Chapter Ninety-Six: Weather Spell
There's a big world in a small suitcase.
Newt took Xiwen to almost all this strange world constructed by different ecology, different landforms and different weather. Of course, they're not traveling, they're taking care of all sorts of amazing animals.
"Can the Traceless Stretch Spell and the Weather Charm really achieve this effect?" After working with Newt for a long time, Xiwen's body was a little tired, but his spirit was very excited.
"You can do it as long as you want." Newt wiped the sweat from his face and chuckled.
Xiwen turned his head and nodded, looking at the only remaining landscapeβa giant stone pillar surrounded by desert. The sky above it is shrouded in thunder and lightning, and it is particularly spectacular.
"What's going on there, why haven't you seen any animals?" Xiwen asked curiously, pointing to the stone pillar.
"The Arizona desert environment was simulated for Frank." Newt said softly with a gesture of affection. "Frank is a ptarmigian, and I rescued him from traffickers in Egypt ten years ago. He did me a great favor when I was in the United States. β
"The U.S. has adopted the ptarmigan as a protected animal because of that incident, and he should be doing well in Arizona now."
"Now that Frank the Thunderbird has returned to his hometown, why do you want to keep the environment here?" Xiwen asked, a little confused.
Newt glanced at Shevan, then walked straight to the giant stone pillar.
"Come with me." He said.
Xiwen followed Newt's steps to the side of the giant stone pillar, and more intuitively felt the rage of thunderstorms and lightning here, lightning and thunder, thunder and lightning!
Newt took out his wand and pointed it at the dark clouds in the sky.
At that moment, a glittering flash of lightning connected from the clouds to the tip of the wand.
Xiwen's eyes widened, and he saw that Newt's face was reflected in blue and white by this electric light, and even the surroundings were bright and dazzling!
Newt slowly lowered his wand, and the electric light faded as it moved, then dissipated into the air.
"The Thunderbird is an extremely bizarre magical animal, they are spirits of thunder and lightning and wind and rain. Wherever they stayed, their environment was exceptionally sensitive to lightning, making them more prone to thunderstorms and powerful lightning storms. Newt turned his head and explained to Shevan.
"I can't support such a large-scale and powerful Thunder and Lightning Spell on my own, and I can only keep this place with the help of the traces left by Frank." He said. "Maybe we'll need it someday!"
And Xiwen looked at the churning electric light in the sky, but thought of other things in his heart.
'If the Weather Charm is skillfully used, even if it summons a tenth of the power of lightning here, it can deal extremely much damage. He thought excitedly. 'Speaking of which, I haven't heard of the curse of lightning in this world!' β
So Siwen looked at Newt and said solemnly, "Mr. Scamander, I want to learn the weather spell from you!" β
Hearing Xiwen's words, Newt was stunned for a moment, and asked uncertainly, "You and I have taken care of magical beasts for an afternoon and have no other reactions, but you just glanced at the weather, but you want to learn spells from me?" β
Small kiosk
Xiwen smiled a little awkwardly, and said unnaturally, "It's not that I don't like magical beasts, it's just that I might prefer to study magic spells......"
"Okay, it's okay." Newt waved his hand and said. "It's just a simple spell, but you've helped me so diligently!"
"Of course, now let me go and see your kitten first." He laughed, then walked over to the woods.
β¦β¦
"Kitten, hurry down!"
Shewin stood under the Guardian Tree, shouting at the kitten in the tree.
However, the kitten had no intention of paying any attention to him, and just lazily lay on a branch, admiring the tree guards jumping up and down.
"She doesn't seem to want to pay attention to me." Xiwen looked at Newt and said helplessly.
"Try this." Newt took out a bird toy with a bell tied to a small stick from the room and handed it to Sven.
"It's ...... Cat teaser? Xiwen looked at the little toy and froze for a moment.
"Hmm...... A fitting name! Newt thought for a moment, and nodded in acknowledgment of what Shewin called the bird toy. Try it, I used it 10 years ago, and it works pretty well! β
Xiwen nodded, raised the cat teasing stick and shook it at the kitten.
The ringing of the bell caught the kitten's attention, and she stared at Shiwen below with wide round eyes.
Xiwen shook the cat stick again, causing the bell to make a crisp sound.
The kitten immediately crawled on the branches, stretched its paws forward, and made a hunting motion. Its gaze follows the bird on the cat teaser back and forth.
When Xiwen shook the cat teasing stick for the third time, the kitten finally didn't hold back and jumped off the branch at once.
Xiwen hurriedly stretched out his hands to catch her and held her in his arms.
"You don't have any sense of proportion, you dare to jump down from such a high place!" Shivin pointed his index finger at her nose and lectured.
"Based on the weight of this kitten, jumping from this height is actually not a big deal." Newt watched Xiwen's movements and couldn't help but laugh.
"That's good." Shewin rubbed the cat's head again, then held the kitten in front of Newt with both hands. "Mr. Scamander, can you tell the breed of kitten?"
"Accio."
Newt casually waved his wand and brought the table in the workshop with him.
Xiwen thoughtfully placed the kitten on the table and stared at her with Newt.
"Outwardly, it's no different from the most ordinary domestic cat." Newt reached out and stopped the kitten who wanted to sneak away, and whispered.
"As for the eyes, the eyes of the donkey and the cat and leopard are yellow, or many species of cats have yellow eyes, so they don't see anything special. I don't know what kind of changes will occur in the cat-leopard's eyes when she uses her innate abilities. β
"However, both the owner of the pet shop and Professor Kettleburn said that the kitten had raccoon blood." Xiwen looked at Newt, who was pensive, and silently retorted.
"They judged that she had cat blood, probably because of the magic in her body." Newt laughed. "Normally, cats that look like domestic cats but have magical powers have magical animal bloodlines that are all raccoons. So it's not surprising that they judge this way. β
Xiwen nodded as if he didn't understand.
Newt then tried to hold the kitten's paw, but she quickly pulled it back.
Newt had no choice but to find a bottle filled with a light gray liquid and pour a small bowl for the kitten.
The kitten leaned over and sniffed, then eagerly licked the liquid from the small bowl.
"I was given to by a friend of my magizoologist who likes to keep cats, and he said that felines like to drink this thing the most." Newt smiled at Shevan and reached out again to grab the cat's paw.
This time the kitten didn't resist, or she was in a hurry to cook and didn't have the kung fu to resist.
So the nails she was hiding in the flesh were squeezed out by Newt holding down the pads.
"It's kind of interesting." Newt tilted his head to observe, the corners of his mouth raised.
