Chapter 5: Frenzy

After a few stiff movements, Riga reached out his frozen hands and picked up the one-handed axe that had fallen with him from the ground. The hunter soon began to carve small holes in the steep walls of the cave for him to stand on one foot, and then climbed up step by step.

After about an hourglass of effort, the hunter climbed up to the mouth of the cave with a hard breath, feeling the cold wind of the ice field again. The strong arms sent the body to the ground, and the hunter immediately raised his one-handed axe, staring around with keen eyes. The environment that had been destroyed by the adult snow ape hadn't changed at all. A few broken trees fell diagonally to the ground, large footprints bent and stretched into the distance.

Walking through this messy battlefield, the hunter picked up the weapons and debris abandoned by the orcs, and finally found a mace that was quite handy.

This crudely made mace was not like the one-handed axe, which was forged by a skilled craftsman, except for a sleek, straight-polished wooden rod, and only a bronze four-edged hammer head sturdy over the top of the stick. And the unevenness caused by the unqualified casting technology has become its biggest advantage in this weapon.

With a casual blow of the hammer on a birch tree thicker than his arm, Riga suddenly felt a stream of heat surging through his body as he moved. The stout tree was easily discounted by hunters, and the canopy of the leavened dough-like swelling slammed into the snow with a "poof", raising a large number of fluffy snowflakes. Watching all this in astonishment, the hunter stayed for a long time before he realized that it was the power of that strange heat flow.

Suddenly the hunter with great strength kept wielding his weapon, listening to the whirring wind brought by each attack, and the hunter even felt that even if there was a mountain peak in front of him, he could smash it with a single hammer.

But the hunter's obsession with this surge of power was soon shattered, because at some point, a tall snow ape appeared directly in front of him. At over eight feet, it wasn't much taller than Riga, but it was a lap bigger than a hunter. Like the huge adult snow ape that had come before, the snow ape was angrily sticking out its canine teeth, its sharp claws grinding against a birch tree, intent on tearing apart the hunter, a stranger who had entered its territory.

Sensing the intense hostility coming from the snow ape, Riga immediately leaned forward, reinserted the sharp axe into his leg with his right hand, and slowly retreated step by step.

Seeing that Riga wanted to leave safely, the snow ape immediately began to attack in a rage. With heavy feet shaking the earth, the beast rushed towards the hunter like crazy. The stout birch trees in front of it were broken one by one by brute force. The birch forest had been ravaged by the snow ape's frenzy, and it was also damaged by the force of the tree's rebound and the hard, sharp ice on the ground, and the bright red blood flowed down the silver-gray silky hair, almost dyeing its body red.

The injury did not make the female snow ape feel flinched, but the smell of blood made it even more violent. Looking at the snow ape rushing from a distance, a trace of panic immediately flashed in Riga's heart, but the powerful confidence brought by that mysterious power made him ashamed of his previous thoughts. Thinking back to the combat skills that had been taught and honed by Daddy Thorne for more than ten years, Riga immediately shifted his weight downward, holding the wooden handle of the mace tightly with his left hand, diagonally at his side, and hooking the snow ape with his right hand.

Seeing that the hateful Quaid warrior on the other side dared to make a provocative gesture against him, the anger that welled up in the snow ape's heart immediately devoured the last trace of clarity left in its brain. Leaning slightly to its side, it bounced its feet twice on the snow, then grabbed a birch tree that was not particularly stout, broke it with a wild howl, and slammed its hands into Riga's head with a wave of its hands.

Inspired by strong confidence, Riga tensed his muscles and bit his lip and swung the hammer with all his might, causing it to collide with the whizzing tree trunk. Boiling snow poured up from the ground, rising a full five feet high. Similar to the collision between an ordinary boar and a monster bull, Riga only felt a surge of force rush from the handle of the hammer, throwing him and the hammer ten yards away. The female snow ape, on the other hand, only took two steps back, and then rushed out of the snowflakes as if nothing had happened. The trunk shattered in the impact, shattering into large expanses of sharp wood slag, leaving several small cuts in Rigga's face.

Looking at the tree trunk that was already half half left in her hand, the female surnamed Snow Ape Suo threw it down, and suddenly slammed it on the ground with her powerful fists, stirring up a fluffy snowflake.

It wasn't known why Snow Ape did this, but Riga's sharp instincts warned him to step aside. The strong feet immediately adjusted their arc and exerted force, and the hunter jumped up and hugged a tree. Before he could put his feet in, several delicate blue sharp ice picks pierced out from under the snow and brushed against the skin of the snow badger on his feet.

The sharp light reflected from the tip of the cone made Riga's hairs stand on end, and if he hadn't dodged just now, there would have been a few more glittering icicles in his body by now. It wasn't until this moment that he remembered that the snow ape was a magical beast with two magical abilities, ice and wind.

Finding out if the released Icicle had not hit the enemy on the other side, the snow ape roared, and a pale cyan air stream suddenly appeared in its open mouth, and then quickly transformed into a translucent blade-shaped blade. This is the Wind Blade Technique, which is the same second-level magic as the Ice Pick Technique. It only took no more than five breaths for the Wind Blade to go from the time it appeared to the time it struck Riga, and even then Riga had not recovered from the shock of the Ice Pick.

The speed of the wind blade was amazing, as if it could cut through space, and it appeared in front of Riga in an instant. That precise instinct saved his life once more, and the mace in Riga's hand slammed into the middle, just in front of the wind blade. The wind blade formed by the condensation of the magical elements vibrated violently and forward, and even the sturdy bronze barely stopped it. After a tooth-aching grinding sound, Riga raised the mace in his hand with trepidation, only to find that the forged four-edged hammer had now been cut more than half of its thickness.

Realizing that the two spells had not harmed Riga, the snow ape immediately swung its upper limbs and slashed viciously in the air a few times, and then rushed over with a foul smell of hot wind. This time, Riga never wanted to confront the snow ape head-on, but after nimbly dodging the claws of the attack several times, he had to taste the great power of the snow ape again.

As if he had been hit by a wild buffalo, Riga's body was repelled by the force of the snow ape, and he flew upside down against a tree trunk, and the mace in his hand struck him in the chest. Uncontrollable force poured down on the hunter's fragile ribs, and even he could hear the wail of the broken bones.

Seeing that the enemy was sent flying by herself, the female Snow Ape immediately roared happily and rushed over to smash Riga flat. The soft snow squeaked and squeezed beneath its feet, as if symbolizing the hunter's imminent fate.

In this life-or-death moment, that powerful power finally appeared in Riga's body lying on the snow again. A surging stream of heat suddenly poured out of his chest, as if he had broken some confinement and suddenly occupied his whole body.

Then a huge aura suddenly erupted in his body, causing the hunter to roll on the ground in pain. The female snow ape was immediately awakened by this tyrannical and powerful aura, so that the blood in her eyes receded and she regained her clarity. The monster instantly transformed from a raging monster into a docile kitten, quickly retreated backwards, and then fled in stride, disappearing from Riga's field of vision.

After five breaths, the hunter slowly opened his eyes. As if his body had not been hurt in the slightest, Riga quickly rose from the ground, only to realize that he had lost his opponent.

Savage force surged through his body, and a terrifying flush quickly spread over his body. Riga was confused for a moment before he guessed that this was the racial talent that Quaid was able to activate after reaching level six—madness. However, unlike those ordinary madnesses, the hunter has not become a madman who knows only how to fight. Of course, the side effect was that his mind became a little duller.

Feeling the great power in his body, the hunter indulged in the feeling of fullness, and even felt that he had nothing to fear. Clenching his hands flushed from his madness, Riga stepped in front of a thick birch tree and threw a punch with all his might. With a catastrophic bang, the birch branches trembled violently in the air, frantically sprinkled the snow hanging on them, and then squeaked and fell to the opposite side. Riga's punch actually broke the birch trunk in half.

Immediately after the punch, Riga felt himself go limp, and he fell directly to the snow, unable to avoid even the falling snow blocks. Raising his sore fist with difficulty, the hunter smiled bitterly, only to know that his madness could only last one full attack, and that he would fall into an unusually weak state after it was over.

After lying on the snow and resting for thirty breaths, the hunter finally regained a little strength. He struggled to sit up from the snow and began to rummage through the orcs' discarded items for items he could use.

A worn-out, dirty, unrecognizable set of leather armor, the hunter wondered if it could withstand the cutting of a metal weapon. A light wooden spear with a bit of a curve, which Rriga thought would be more in line with its appearance as a walking stick when walking on snow. Two rusty bronze daggers that had almost completely turned into a dark green, and of course the hunters who already had one-handed axes and an even better dagger discarded them.

In addition to the armor of these weapons, he found several small animal skins, a handful of coarse salt with black spots, a bag of inferior ale wine mixed with a lot of water, two round barley cakes, and three or four pieces of cured brown jerky. After nibbling on a piece of dry barley cake with almost no taste, the hunter wrapped everything in a piece of fur that looked the most intact, and then quickly left the snow ape's territory to prevent the crazy female snow ape from coming back.
