Chapter 12: Berserk Beasts
The snow ape's large, heavy body ran across the snow, making deep marks on the snow on the ground. The orc shooters on the opposite side also kept throwing sharp arrows at them, trying to slow down the progress of the monsters.
The snow ape had only intended to rush around the orcs instead of attacking them. But when a flying arrow accurately pierced the wrinkled black face of the female surnamed Snow Ape, the demonic beast that had been attacked but did not fight back immediately transferred its anger to these orc warriors. A few small birch trees, which were less than ten feet even under the canopy, were broken one by one by the two strong demonic beasts, and then smashed towards the shield array.
The birch trunk, which weighed nearly a hundred pounds, was tossed diagonally into the sky by four strong arms, and then spun or fell flat, knocking down more than half a dozen of the orcs who were waiting on the ground. Especially the orc archers who only cared about shooting arrows, only half of the dozen orc archers were still intact.
Seeing that the distance between the snow ape and the team was getting closer and closer, several orc captains were finally ready to make a move. Six elite warriors, including 'Scarface' Paso and 'Long Black Hair', raised their weapons and rushed towards the snow ape as he was venting his anger.
Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted the orc warriors coming towards him from several corners of the forest, and the brutal surname of the male Snow Ape only made it even more excited. Hammer-hard fists struck repeatedly across the chest, which was covered with thick fur and solid muscles, and the ape's red eyes rushed towards them.
Its musctured legs gave the beast wind the same speed as agility, making it charge as fast as an earth dragon. A large amount of snow was lifted up by its rapidly rolling feet, spilling behind it like boiling water, disturbing the orc's vision. When the gray-white 'snow dragon' made of snow reached the leader of an orc armed with a great axe, the warrior had just had time to lift the great axe in his hand.
Like the crunch of fangs chewing tender bones, the wind reached the ears of the rest of the orcs, who watched as the orc warrior flew up from the spot and slammed into a huge rock. Luckily, the thick snow that had been piling up on the boulder for a long time saved his life, and the fluffy snowflakes more than four inches deep not only soothed the powerful impact energy carried on his body, but also caused his body to slide sideways and fall into the bushes behind the boulder with a "clatter". Immediately after the impact, the male snow ape spread his feet and leaned sideways, and actually stopped when he hit the boulder.
In the blink of an eye, the elite warriors of the orc safari team who had reached the third level of strength were severely injured and knocked down in the bushes, and the price of the snow ape was only a shallow blood mark on the abdomen. Far from reducing the strength of the demonic beast, the wound that had managed to squeeze out a few drops of blood made it even more violent and angry.
"Damn the beast!" Paso the Scarface Orc rushed forward with another captain with a hooked sword, and the two of them slashed their weapons with angry curses in their mouths. Under the interference of the dark cyan metal reflection, the snow ape's movements were noticeably sluggish, and after dodging two attacks, 'Scarface' finally seized the opportunity and injured his thigh with a sharp axe blade.
Bright red blood immediately poured out of the wound of about three inches, staining the surrounding silver-gray fur red. Listening to the wails coming from the mouth of the male Snow Ape, 'Scarface' Paso and the other orc had no time to cheer when two huge palms grabbed at them.
The stocky Paso deftly dodged his palm as soon as he lowered his head, plucking only a few long brown hairs, but the other orc warrior was not so lucky. His black braid, which he had tied into a piece, was now being steadily held in his hand by the female surnamed Snow Ape, and no matter how hard he struggled, it was useless. When he remembered to cut his braids with a tomahawk, the majestic upper limbs of the male Snow Ape had already been thrown over. Four sharp claws slashed across in an instant, tearing his neck directly.
The blood pressed by the blood vessels continued to flow upwards dutifully, eventually spurting out of the wound on the neck. But most of the hot blood flowed into the throat and stomach pouch of the female snow ape. The male snow ape did not have the opportunity to drink the blood of his enemies like his mate, so he eagerly grabbed some tender bark from the birch trees around him and stuffed it into his mouth to chew it, and when the remaining orcs were too frightened to act, he quickly pasted the mixture of saliva, saliva and bark on the still bleeding wound.
Now, both the snow ape and the orcs have fallen into a brief halt because of the strength of the other party. The orcs moved slowly and approached from all sides, and the male snow ape kept baring his canine teeth at them, as if to warn them not to move.
When the snow ape, who had drunk some blood and regained some clarity, turned back to stare at the direction where Riga had been, the monster realized that the enemy it really wanted to tear apart had already moved away from the battlefield and was quietly fleeing into the distance.
"Roar!" the female Snow Ape, who was full of hatred for the hunter, immediately threw down the sack-like orc corpse in her hand, and opened her blood-stained fangs to roar at the hunter who was leading Monica to escape.
The roar of hatred and pain shifted most of the orc's gaze in that direction. Then the orcs spotted the figure they had been chasing, and it seemed that she had a tall, strong companion in addition to the ruthless and cruel Quaid warrioress. The gray cloaks of the two were inconspicuous in the snow, but when they were in motion, they were not difficult to spot.
After discovering that Snow Ape and his own side were actually aiming to pursue the two escaped Quaids, all the orc captains felt a pang of regret and anger. The battle that had occurred inexplicably because of the Quaid had already cost them two third-level captains and nearly ten orc soldiers, how could these remaining orcs let go of the culprit and their original target.
The black-haired orc glanced at the two Riga who were about to turn over the hills, and yelled at the 'Scarface' orc who had hurt the male Snow Ape just now, "Paso, you lead a team of the best soldiers to capture those two Quaids. These two beasts will be left behind by us for the time being!"
Of the several captains of the orcs, only 'Scarface' had caused damage to the snow ape just now, and if he had stayed here, then the snow ape's hatred would have been largely gathered on him. So in Captain Black's opinion, sending Paso to capture the two Quaids should prevent him from making a mistake in his next arrangement.
Besides, with the help of an elite team of orc soldiers, it shouldn't be particularly difficult to capture the two Quaids. On the contrary, fighting a notorious magical beast like Snow Ape should be full of dangers, and it is even very likely that you will lose your life. The orc warrior who had fallen into the bushes and his companion whose neck had been torn in half had proved to them the danger of the operation.
But "Scarface" Paso was not satisfied, this fanatical warrior still wanted to stay and fight the powerful monsters, because he believed that only with the help of huge external pressure could he quickly break through the level confinement. The black-haired orc was his most convincing warrior, so after glaring at the snow ape viciously, Paso slowly retreated with his battle axe, and only after reaching a safe area did he turn and run towards the orc soldiers who were hiding in the distance.
The orc soldiers who were hiding behind the rocky corners and birch trees had long been turned pale from the shock of the battle with the monsters, so when 'Scarface' Paso said that he would lead a group of orcs to pursue the two Quaids on the hills, almost all of them stood up and wanted to participate. Helpless, Paso could only select the archers who could support the battle first, and then casually pointed to more than a dozen strong orc soldiers, and hurriedly led them towards the top of the hill. In the eyes of this warrior who admired brute strength, if the pursuit was faster, maybe he would be able to return and participate in the battle with the snow ape.
Finding that the orcs had divided a part of their hands to chase after the two prey that belonged to them, the female surnamed Snow Ape first angrily attacked the orcs not far away. Its thinner body made it more flexible, and before the warriors led by the 'long black haired' orc could stop it, the monster rushed into the ordinary orc soldiers.
Although the orc soldiers do not have more than the second level of strength like the captain-level warriors, these samurai are still very strong. When the female Snow Ape's claws pierced the chest of the second orc soldier, killing him, a battle axe slashed at its back.
The heavy axe made from the metal block is not a handy weapon, but it is also powerful and destructive. The silver-gray fur on the back of the female Snow Ape was cut open by the not-so-sharp axe blade, leaving a blood groove more than four inches long, and the sticky blood spurting out of it sprinkled the face of the soldier who had successfully sneaked up.
But before the orc soldier could touch the blood from his face, a wide palm slowly enlarged in his eyes. The soldier who was slapped on the top of his head by a female snow ape fell down in a daze before he could celebrate his achievements. The brutal force that poured out of the snow ape's palm had completely destroyed his brain, and a mixture of red and white fluid flowed from the obvious indentation in the door of his head.
"Whoa!" The snow ape, who was still feeling angry, let out an angry and painful roar, and raised his feet to stomp on the corpse of the orc soldier, until the corpse was almost a mixture of flesh and mud and melted snow and dirt, and then the female surnamed Snow Ape put away her feet in satisfaction, clenched her hands into fists, and pounded her chest hard.
But it was not obedience and obedience that greeted it. The orc archers hidden in the birch forest finally seized the opportunity, and sharpened arrows shot out in their angry eyes, piercing the snow ape's scarred body. But this did not cause severe damage to the snow ape, and under the protection of the thick silver-gray fur and a special layer of oil, the arrows did not cause too deep wounds.
Seeing that his mate was actually injured by a group of weak orcs, the male surnamed Snow Ape immediately roared in grief and indignation, and then a trace of strange elemental fluctuations began to ripple in the surrounding air.
