Chapter 50: Death Funeral Song
Riga immediately felt a rush of blood rush to his head, he absolutely did not tolerate the corpses of his people being insulted by wild beasts. With his right hand, he quickly drew his iron sword from his belt, and the hunter rushed forward with a roar.
Heavy feet shook the ground like stone pillars, and Riga slammed into a beast like a mad grizzly bear. The long, filthy gray hyena immediately wailed and fell to the ground, its clawed limbs kicking on the ground like tightened rattans. Until a long sword was thrust through its belly and pinned the skinny hyena to the ground.
The beast with its dark red blood on its belly did not die immediately, it swayed its body vigorously, its metal-sharp claws and foul-smelling saliva beast snout writhing upwards as if to bite the attacker's wrist. But a heavy leather boot kicked it on the head, causing the beast to kiss the cold ground again.
"Roar!" Before the other frightened hyenas could turn around before Riga let out a wild howl like a beast. At the same time, the muscles of his legs exerted force, and he directly stepped the hard head of the hyena into the frozen ground.
Amid the shrill sound of their skulls rubbing against the ice, the numerous hyenas began to retreat. These cunning hunters don't challenge a formidable opponent for the sake of a dead companion, let alone a half-dozen Quaid warriors behind Riga.
In a whispered warning from their throats, the four-foot-long hyenas stepped back one by one, then turned around and ran, abandoning the Quaid corpse on the ground.
By the time Riga drew his sword from the beast's corpse, several others had already run over and turned the corpse over. Dressed in familiar fur coats and cloaks, these men were the elders of the tribe. Their corpses were frozen as hard as metal, their unprotected facial skin turned a white mixed with blue, and the Quaids had their eyes wide open before they died, and their beards and hair were hung with ice slag connected together.
Looking at the corpses of his clansmen, Riga walked to the side in a dull manner. It was a fir forest, and next to the forest were more than a dozen small trees that had been crushed by the snow. Together with their companions, Riga and the others carried back the broken trunk and branches to the ground, and then carried several corpses on top.
As the scorching flames began to burn along the greasy bark, the Riga stood in the direction of the corpse's head, their faces reflecting the flickering light of the fire, and whispered in unison amid the slight crackling of the 'crackling' flames, "Beasts will die, mortals will die." Those who walk in the world will die, but the true hero will live forever, and he will live forever in our hearts. Rest in peace, my people. May the furious bless you and others. ”
With the sound of farewell echoing in the cold wind, Riga and the others stepped forward again, leaving behind the flames and burning corpses of their people. Because of the presence of the tribe's people, Riga has realized that the road is not far away.
With their feet deep in the snow, the Quaid warriors followed a forest path through the fir forest towards the highest hill in the region. Only there is a view of the surroundings and only there is a place where you can notice the whereabouts of the tribesmen.
But as Riga crept up vigilantly and was about to reach the top, a flying arrow flew past his face, stopping the hunter from his tracks. The arrows are made of the finest birch wood, and the tail is inserted with a flat-trimmed feather. The arrowhead is also made of stainless steel, and it shines brightly similar to that of a steel coin.
"Stop. A figure covered in a teal fur cloak stepped out from behind the rock, holding a metal bow with arrows attached. The appearance of the metal bow is luxurious and graceful, it is gray in color overall, and the bow body is bent in an inconspicuous arc. A dragon carved out of silver metal spreads along the bow, its slightly flared wings polished smooth for easy grip. What bothered Riga the most was the large red dusty gem set in the middle of the bow.
"One more step forward and I'll shoot through your chest. As Riga looked at the shooter, and was a little nervous about the rubies, the slender stranger spoke again.
Looking up from Riga's vantage point, the hunter could only see the shooter's clean, smooth jaw, where there was not a single beard. He immediately became contemptuous, and the Quaid regarded the beard as important as life. They cut off their beards when they were insulted to show that they did not dare to forget, and they only wore their beards in braids when they were victorious and glorious.
"Don't try to challenge my bottom line, Quaid. But as if he could read his heart, the archer suddenly raised his bow and arrow, and aimed it at the hunter's head. "I just wanted to make a deal with you. ”
"What deal?" gestured to stop the Quaids behind him as they prepared to start a battle, and Riga lowered his posture because of the mystery of the archer. "Do you need anything else from a strong man like you?"
"Don't worry. The shooter moved two steps, dodging the howling wind that was blowing behind him. "I just wanted to get a message. ”
"Do you know of a red-robed Terran mage, if yes, he should have attacked you. The shooter said in a nonchalant tone. Riga's face changed suddenly.
The archer's keen eye immediately noticed this, so he bent down from a high place and probed forward with his bow and arrow. "I'm guessing you know. ”
"That's right. Turning his head back and making a quiet gesture, Ruiga spoke loudly. "I know that damn fellow. He once killed several of my companions during our tribe's rite of passage. ”
"You've seen him before. The shooter's tone immediately became agitated, and he spoke quickly, asking in a vague Quaid, "Is it a guy with a short staff and a purple lip?
Of course, Riga remembered the Terran mage whose head had been split open by himself, but he deliberately did not tell the real news about the red-robed mage. "It's him. This guy cursed by the god of madness, he escaped in the war and didn't know where he was hiding. ”
"The god of nature is above, what a troublesome guy like a mouse. The archer immediately cursed in a low voice, but he didn't expect it to drift into Rigga's ears along the cold wind. Then he opened his throat again and cried out loudly, "In return for giving me the answer, I will tell you where the Quaids are." ”
Keeping his mouth shut to avoid a strong wind, the shooter continued: "They passed through the cedar forest south of the hills. I think I went to the former fortress of Geershan, although now there is only a ruin. ”
"Well, goodbye. Without waiting for Riga to ask another question, the archer immediately put away his bow and arrows, and jumped back behind the rock like a nimble rock monkey. "Looking forward to our next meeting, Quaid warriors. ”
