Chapter 32: Alms from the Strong
In the midst of a low, powerful beast roar, a thick wall of ice rose around the frost bear's body. The high wall of broken dirt, filthy snow, and broken branches blocked the magic unleashed by the two ice dragons, giving the behemoth plenty of time to unleash it. 'Earth Teleportation', the earth-based magic that remembered in more than a dozen spell slots once again helped Frost Bear, and the black rock slab grew out of the ground like a living plant, enveloping the huge body of the monster hill. Teleported it from the ruins buried by the collapsed ice wall to the top of a low hillside.
Accurate calculations gave Frostbear a chance to control the pace of the battle, as the young, slightly smaller ice dragon flew over it with its wings outstretched. The white figure tore through the air as quickly as a detached arrow, the young dragon gently waving its leather wings, its slender tail swinging behind it. The fine scales attached to the streamlined outer skin and the exoskeleton that spirals from the joints give this predator a formidable ** and defense.
The young dragons were still immersed in the excitement of being able to bully the frost bear, but they ignored the elemental fluctuations that came from underneath them. It even thought it was a frost bear on the ground unleashing a magic that couldn't attack it. When the instinct from the beast finally sensed the danger, the frost bear, which had become even more furious due to its injuries, had unleashed its gravity spell on an area more than a month in the sky. The sudden weight on its body caused the ice dragon to scream and fall quickly, and no matter how eagerly it flailed its wings, the predator could only stabilize its body and not take to the sky again.
Without waiting for another adult ice dragon to swoop down from the sky, Frostbear immediately taught the young ice dragon a lesson with its claws and paws. Its body, which stood more than thirty feet tall, suddenly stood up and stretched out its claws as sharp and sturdy as a boning knife. The massive, monstrous body was wrapped in a dim but dim magical shield, and two majestic forelimbs lashed in the air.
Like a butterfly struggling in a storm, the young ice dragon flapping its wings was powerless to dodge, and could only watch as its body was hit by its heavy, powerful claws. The mage's shield that was wrapped around its graceful and hideous body disappeared in an instant, and then two bear paws struck the ice dragon's abdomen with an astonishing air explosion, far exceeding the dragon's brute force and pouring on the three-thousand-pound predator. Amidst the cracking of bones and the shrill screams of dragons, the young dragon slammed into the iron-hard ground, smashing out a massive dragon-like silhouette.
The blow made the ice dragon scream, and it writhed, struggling several times before it could get back up. And the tremendous force generated by the dragon's fall pushed out a huge amount of snow, which was even more powerful than the power of an avalanche. Covering the sky, the snowstorm that was raised hundreds of feet high directly buried most of the two Quaid villains who woke up early but did not dare to move in panic and the forest behind them. Countless low, tough pine trees also broke under heavy pressure and were buried deep in the snow.
The injury to its companion caused the other predator to whine and hover in the air, but it couldn't find a chance to seriously injure the frost bear. The last breath consumed most of the energy that had accumulated in the stomach of the adult ice dragon, and under normal circumstances, it would take at least two prayers to soothe it before it could once again spew out this powerful dragon's breath that could instantly break through the magic shield.
The Frost Bear didn't stop after successfully knocking down the young ice dragon, and it throbbed forward with its remaining three legs, its body weighing more than 10,000 pounds, and pounced on the wheezing ice dragon, pressing on its badly injured body. Then the bear opened its protruding snout and bit down the ice dragon's long, bony neck.
The extremely tenacious young dragon immediately began to struggle desperately, its thick and powerful limbs kept kicking, and the sharp bones growing around its head and body kept swaying in all directions, as if it wanted to use it to hurt its enemies. The disturbed frost bear immediately tightened its upper and lower jaws vigorously, one front paw pressed the ice dragon's hideous one-horned head, and the other slashed towards the ice dragon's abdomen through the previous wound, trying to kill the dragon as soon as possible.
The adult ice dragon sprinted down quickly to the wails of its companions, its four-legged claws gripping at the frost bear's broad back. Quickly breaking the dark yellow earth-based magic shield, the adult dragon immediately bit down on the bear's shoulder, while its hook-like claws slid through the azure fur, leaving huge wounds one after another. The injury made the Frostbear even tougher and furious, its turquoise eyes radiating a furious blood-red color. Then the beast roared and bit off the young ice dragon's neck, causing the struggling predator to finally begin to weaken rapidly and step towards death.
Before Frostbear can turn around and blast with its front paws, the adult Ice Dragon, who discovers that his companion is dead, immediately gives up attacking the enemy. It leaped away from the bear's broad back, and with a kick of its four sturdy legs, it soared into the air with the help of a pair of leather wings. Hovering in the icy sky, the ice dragon let out a sharp and angry roar from its mouth, unwilling to leave. But after a stalemate of prayers, the ice dragon was finally forced to leave amid the unflinching roar of the frost bear. It flapped its broad wings a few times, and vanished into the northern sky with lightning speed, leaving only a scream in the air capable of condensing ice crystals.
At this time, the life of the young ice dragon on the ground had come to an end. The slender vertical pupils of the apex predator on this ice field dilated rapidly, and the strong and tenacious heart shook and stopped beating. The victorious frost bear immediately roared and plunged its massive head through the ice dragon's belly, gulping down the flesh that shimmered blue to replenish the body's much-needed nutrients.
The mouth and front paws worked together to tear off a large piece of flesh, and Frostbear struggled to swallow it down his throat, then unleashed the magic prepared in the spell slot, using the 'locating technique' to locate Riga and Frost Bear. Immediately after the earth elemental surge in the ground, Earth Teleportation caused several rock slabs to grow around Riga and the dizzy little Frost Bear, bringing them back to the Frost Bear.
When Riga first saw the disorganized battlefield and the corpse of the ice dragon as huge as the hill, he stared at the pig in shock, and was speechless for a long time. The battle between the three monsters has completely changed the surrounding terrain. The flat ground is covered with potholes and hillsides, and forests are submerged in snowstorms that cover the sky. Broken stone pillars and sharp icicles lined the ruined battlefield, and Riga felt the horror of power for the first time.
"Quaid, you are free now. A chilly breath of wind erupted from the giant bear's kiss, and the frost bear's huge blue eyes stared at Riga Road. "I will give you the gift you deserve. With that, Frostbear cut off a piece of ice dragon skin from the ice dragon's body and threw it in front of Riga like a charity.
Before Riga could react to the shocking sight around him, he was wrapped in a rock ball along with the dragon skin that Frostbear had given him. Less than two breaths later, the hunter appeared in a fishy, warm cavern.
"O Quaid, fighting is your calling. Only the warriors who fight will be able to gain the favor of our bloodline. With a low murmur, Frostbear picked up the bear with his front paws, controlled the massive black rock slab to enclose himself and the corpse of the ice dragon, and slowly sank into the earth. However, as if he had forgotten, the Frost Bear had left its hind limbs destroyed by the Ice Dragon's Breath and buried them in some unknown corner.
Having yet to recover from the battlefield, Riga immediately finds himself in a difficult battle as Frostbear had arranged, as he is teleported into the lair of a beast. The smell that was pouring into his mouth and nose was the smell of snow bears.
When the beast sleeping in the warm lair suddenly smelled the strange breath, it immediately rose from its nest in a frenzy and pounced on Riga with a fierce lunge. The Quaid could only quickly crouch on the ground and roll to the side, dodging the attack. Then he didn't care about the ice dragon skin on the ground, and rushed out directly with the help of the light at the entrance of the cave.
Riga's body rolled on the ground, leaving the snow on his beard and coat, but the hunter didn't care at all. He quickly drew two battle axes from the sides of his legs and half-crouched on the snow, waiting for the beast's next attack. The snow bear did not disappoint the hunter, and after three breaths it burst out of the hollow of the tree. Eight-foot-long and wrapped in the stinking hot wind, the king of the forest pounced on Riga.
Sharp claws emerge from the thick paws, and the snow bear angrily tries to tear Riga apart. But the tyrant of the mountains and forests was no longer able to terrify the Quaids. After meeting the top predators in the ice fields, Riga no longer thinks of snow bears as unstoppable beasts.
The two battle axes crossed and slashed out, and the sharp blades of the axes accurately slashed into the claws and paws of the snow bear. But the bronze weapon left only a few shallow streaks of blood on the bear's paws, which were covered in dirt and fat. The hunter rolled backwards in embarrassment, and only then did he dodge the snow bear's attack. He looked at the place where he was squatting just now and was pierced by sharp claws, and regretted his underestimation in his heart. No matter how powerful the frost bear and the ice dragon were, the hunter itself had not changed the slightest.
"Crazy. The long-stored heat flowed to his limbs again, and the blood made his body swell and his muscles firm and powerful. Rega was red from the rush of blood, making him fearless and cold that seemed to freeze his soul.
"Kill!" Whisking a dark cyan battle axe in both hands, Riga leaped from the ground and slashed at the snow bear's head with both axes. The astonishing force caused the tomahawk to accelerate through the air, and eventually it struck one of its forelimbs with a tearing whirl. The Snow Bear wanted to shoot Riga out with his paws, but the sheer power of the madness caused the hunter to break its bones and cut off its thick front legs.
"Whew. The beast rolled frantically on the ground as its remaining forelimbs swung as its massive bear snout reached out and bit the axe handle in Riga's hand with its sharp, strong teeth, forcing him to give up the weapon. But Riga also took the opportunity to deliver a blow to the beast. Another tomahawk struck the snow bear on the skull, leaving a deep groove of blood on the side of his face. Luckily, the axe blinded the snow bear.
With a deafening roar, Riga swung his weapon quickly and slashed twice at the snow bear's skull, causing the tomahawk to get stuck in the beast's sturdy skull. Seeing the brutal gaze that emerged from the snow bear's single eye, Riga was fortunate to turn over and ride on the beast's back from the end where it had lost its forelimbs.
"Die. The Quaid drew a bronze dagger from the belt behind his waist and stabbed it quickly and decisively into the bear's neck.
