Chapter Forty-Six: The Attacking Snow Wolf
As time passed, the Silver Moon rose from the horizon to the center, and in its veil-soft light, a few of the escapees fell silent as if they had drunk an ale soaked in Tinny. The sap of this grass has a calming effect on the smoke from combustion, and tribal shamans also use it to heal the sick and relieve their emotions.
"Riga?" the red-haired young boy whispered as the cold wind howled even more violently. But the Quaid didn't hear it, until he repeated it in a louder voice.
"Reilly, what's the matter?" asked Riga as she lifted her hood and covered the snow squeezing his face from all sides. The moment he opened his mouth, several snowflakes flew into the hunter's throat, causing him to swallow a mouthful of saliva in great discomfort, and then spit it out again, dissolving a small hole in the snow.
"Will we be able to escape?" said the red-haired young man, wrapped in a wide, large black wool cloak, his teeth chattering, and grumbling helplessly and fearfully. "I'm cold and need to be warmed, and I want to eat a little potante and have a sip of soup. ”
"Boom. Several people around swallowed a mouthful of saliva almost at the same time, and then looked at each other. Since the morning, most of the fighters have not eaten by more than nine hourglass hours. The fierce fighting and flight made them forget about their hunger for a while, but when the image of food appeared in their minds, everyone immediately felt a burning sensation from their stomachs. That kind of hunger, as if even a piece of carrion was placed in front of him, and the warriors would bite it down.
"It's been a long time since I've eaten. Gar on the side first touched his stomach and said bitterly. "I don't know if you have escaped the pursuit of the Terran mercenaries. ”
Eyes swept over the few warriors around him, and Riga had to admit that they were about to reach their limit. The warriors didn't have much physical strength left after the battle, and this arduous journey accelerated their consumption.
"Let's find a cave to rest in. Reaching out and patting Reilly on the shoulder, Riga could only put aside the idea of following the big group to find Thorne's father. Although the mysterious heat flow in his body was able to conserve his strength as much as possible, the other warriors were too tired.
"But we'll have to make sure we're .........," Garr replied, but a sudden strong wind shut his mouth.
"Let's take a look around, although the light of the silver moon is weak, at least I can see the surrounding terrain. Seeing that Gal was choked by the cold wind for a long time and was speechless, Riga could only add to himself.
With the exception of the red-haired Reilly and Reso, who had stayed behind to protect him, the remaining warriors immediately parted and walked around. Because the low, straight cedar forest blocked the view of the watchers, Riga had to send them around to find out the terrain that marked their surnames.
As the silver moon sets towards the west, the red moon, which represents order and neutrality, finally emerges from the east in an elliptical outline. Like the eyes of the God of Truth, the red-robed mage's faith and source of power gradually expanded with dark red shadows, driving Silver Moon to the other side in a relentless glance at the ground.
The soft silver veil quickly faded, taking with it the last bit of warmth of the day.
"Reso. Watching the dark red gradually swallow the sky, the red-haired young man Reilly looked at the terrifying ground around him as if it were congealed blood, and said tremblingly. "Are we going to die here? I felt stiff and couldn't move. ”
"Stop talking nonsense, boy. The tall, steady Rayso immediately hugged the tomahawk as he sucked in the mucus that was about to flow out of his nasal cavity, and the silence was broken by a low voice like a drumbeat. "That's what you experience in a coming-of-age ceremony. ”
"What's that?!' The Fury is on top. As soon as the warrior's words fell, Reilly immediately screamed, his voice trembling with fear. "What kind of beast is it?snow wolf?cave lion?or grizzly bear?"
Rayso immediately turned around, and the battle axe clenched in both hands reached out, and the sharp blade was aimed at the red-haired boy's gaze. There, there is a pair of emerald green and pure 'gems' glittering, but there is a little more vitality in the 'gems'.
"It's a snow wolf. Rayso deliberately relaxed to the young man beside him, then added, "They are valiant and cunning warriors, but they are not strong enough to threaten us only when they form a group. ”
As if in response to Reso's explanation, the snow wolf roared out of the cedar forest. The beast looked to be in the prime of life, with sharp teeth, strong limbs, and no stray hair on its silver fur. The snow wolf is only four feet tall at the shoulder, but it is more than six feet long without its body, including its tail.
"Their weaknesses are in the neck, waist and abdomen. Just hit it and you'll be able to defeat it and kill it. Without even taking the beast in front of him in his eyes, Rayso then explained to Rayleigh, the battle axe in his hand moving away from the beast little by little as he spoke.
"Roar. The snow wolf immediately parted its two front legs and stepped deep into the snow, leaning down and growling. Its fluffy silver fur bulged out, as if it had been annoyed by Rayso's words.
Reilly immediately flinched back, but this drew ridicule from Rayso. "Let's see how I kill it. The Quaid warrior immediately stepped forward, wanting to end the beast's life simply and quickly. But before he could take a few steps forward, the snow wolf suddenly raised his head and howled. "Whew~" The voice was low but penetrating, and when Rayso was a little alert, a snow wolf had already pounced from behind him.
The sharp claws were as sharp as boning knives, and under Reilly's shocked gaze, the wolf's claws pierced the wolf's skin cloak without hindrance, leaving more than a dozen deep blood grooves on the Quaid's back. Seeing the blood gushing out of the wound, the snow wolf tried to bite Rayso's shoulder again, but suddenly the axe handle that came out of its armpit struck the wolf's kiss, causing it to whimper and release its claws.
Enraged, the Quaid threw his long axe handle backwards with all his might, knocking the snow wolf straight away and throwing it in front of Reilly. The red-haired boy froze at a loss, not knowing what to do, but Rayso's roar brought him back to his senses. "Kill it!"
"Ahh Immediately, the stinking wolf blood spurted out of the wound like a spring and landed on the dry hair and face of the young man Quaid, causing a twitching surge in his stomach.
Instead, Rayso falls into a trap, a trap set by a snow wolf.
More than a dozen sturdy snow wolves ran out of the cedar forest and fearlessly pounced on the Quaids. Rayso immediately wielded his tomahawk, and the chaotic axe shadow tried to block the snow wolf's path to pounce on him. The two snow wolves that were smashed immediately screamed in pain and flew out, but the remaining few approached the Quaid and bit his body hard.
Rayso endured the pain and waved his arm and grabbed the fur from the snow wolf's neck, trying to pull the snow wolf away from the bite on his leg. But the jagged canine teeth bit into his leg, and this moment immediately pulled off a piece of his leg.
Pain! There was only one thought in Resso's mind. But he grunted and bit his lip, not letting go even though he was bleeding. His other hand clenched into a fist and slammed into the head of the snow wolf, who was biting his calf. The pain caused him to keep throwing his fists, and when the sensation had subsided a bit, Rayso had already thrown more than a dozen punches. When he withdrew his fist, he found that the snow wolf on his leg, known for its hard skull, was bleeding from his mouth and nose and passed out at the side of his leg.
Before he could pull away from the unconscious beast, out of the corner of his eye, Rayso caught a glimpse of a sturdy snow wolf lunging towards him. The hook-like teeth reflected a chilling glow in the red moonlight, as if they were about to bite into his soft neck.
As Resso was about to close his eyes and die, an iron sword roared from a distance, stabbing the snow wolf in the neck, raising a blood flower and bringing it aside. The snow wolf fell to the ground, feeling the power in his body fade away, but he could only kick on all four legs.
"Hold on, Rayso!" a fierce roar came from the side of the cedar forest, and Riga stomped on the ground and slammed into the wolves like a bull.
With a swing of the axe in his hand, Riga slit the throat of the snow wolf that pounced first, and then kicked the corpse away with another kick. When the wolves noticed that a new Quaid had arrived, they immediately separated three or four of them and pounced on Riga in an attempt to stop him.
Unsupported, Rayso gasped weakly, and then slowly fell to the ground, but then a pair of strong hands held him. Gal rushed back in time, and the remaining Quaid warriors jumped out of the forest to join the battle with the wolves, and after hearing the roar of the snow wolf, everyone quickly rushed back.
"Woo!" Seeing his own people fall one by one, while the Quid people grew stronger and braver, the head wolf immediately gave the order to retreat. The massive snow wolves immediately whimpered and ran away with their tails between their legs, and quickly ducked into the dense cedar forest with four thin legs.
"Rayso?" After driving the snow wolf away, Riga immediately returned to the weakened Rayso. His wounds had been haphazardly bandaged by Ghal, but blood was still oozing from them.
"I'm fine. After weakly opening his mouth to say a word, Rayso immediately fainted with his head tilted on the snow.
"We're going to the cave quickly!" said Garl, pressing his hands to Rayso's wounds. "I know where this is. We can go to the cave where Graybeard once found. ”
"The cave that is said to have hot spring water?" said Reilly, who was on the side. "Then go ahead, I might be able to find some herbs there to cure Reso. ”
"Herbs, do you know this?" asked Gal curiously.
"I know something. With some difficulty, he moved his lips, and Reilly's face full of clotted blood scabs moved. "The wizard had intended me to be his apprentice. ”
