Chapter 38: The Bridge Jumping Trio

"This is another lesson I taught you! Whether as a killer or a witcher, when you take out your opponent, don't let your guard down easily, or your precious little life may be someone else's!"

Rog strode down the wooden stairs, stepped over the goblin corpse to Catherine, pulled up the silver sword from her feet and threw it to her left hand, then touched her head with her right hand.

"Good job, but you just used my signature move, don't use it without my permission!"

"Huh?" Catherine looked at the naughty smile on the corner of her mouth as she walked in front of her, and couldn't help but smile, and suddenly heard Rogge shout, "Don't laugh at the little fool, if you don't leave, you will be eaten up of the delicious food at the banquet!"

"It's coming!" Catherine laughed hurriedly and trotted all the way to follow.

Rogge led her deeper into the bottom of the cave, and after a few laps between the labyrinthine bridges, Rogge stopped, pulled Catherine to crouch down, and said, "There's another guy in the way ahead!"

"I'm going to kill them!" said Catherine, pulling the bullet pouch from her body and loading it into the chamber.

"No, not this time, you're going to mess things up!" Rogge shook his head slightly.

The girl raised her head unconvinced, looked in the direction pointed by Rogge, and saw a large number of goblin soldiers scattered on the criss-crossing bridge deck not far below, standing side by side.

"They're so scattered, even if the two of us act together, we can't kill everyone at once, not to mention that it's close to the bottom of the cave, and there are too many goblins around, and if they make a noise, they will startle the snakes. ”

Rogge turned around and scratched Catherine's little nose with his fingers and said, "This is also what the master wants to teach you, to be a witcher, you have to learn to judge the situation, you can't be brutal!"

"Got it, so what are we going to do?" said Catherine, looking respectfully at the teacher.

Rogge didn't answer immediately, he looked at both sides of the plank bridge under his feet, turned to the other side of the bridge and looked down for a while, then turned back to Catherine, took off the dark blue cloak from his shoulders and said, "Have you ever studied tailoring?"

"Tailor, tailor?" the girl looked at him in surprise and shook her head dumbfounded.

"Yes, I told Miss Tully last time that witchers have to know everything, besides playing the piano and drawing, tailoring is also important!"

Rog spread his cloak on the ground, cut it into strips of cloth the width of his forearm with the silver sword in his hand, and then tied the strips of cloth into a sailor's knot between them.

He pried a plank from the ground with his sword, tied the knot tightly to the log that supported it, and threw the other end downward, and the knot landed on a boardwalk close to the stone wall of the cavern, far from the torch, and there was darkness around it, and there was no one around.

"Alright, rappelling is the best way to scare the enemy, come on girl!"

Rogge grabbed the rope and jumped off the boardwalk, and Catherine's nervous probe looked down to see him like a dexterous ape, climbing the knot in the rope and sliding down quickly.

When the rope was about to end, Rog swung forward, let go of his hands and fell to the plank path, curled up in mid-air and rolled forward, rolled his back to the ground silently, stabilized his body and rolled over, and waved to Catherine.

"Come down, don't be afraid, I'll catch you!"

Rog returned to the rope and waved to Catherine with open arms, and the girl fastened the handcuff to her belt, looked down at the high drop, gritted her teeth and mustered up her courage to grab the rope and slide down.

At first, she descended slowly, and the fear in her heart always made her feel like she was going to fall into the bottomless abyss, but Rogge's encouragement and the smooth descent gradually made her regain some courage and began to speed up and slide down.

When only a third of the rope was left in her hand, there was a strange noise overhead, and Catherine looked up in surprise to see that the strip of cloth tied to the log had torn due to the long-term force and friction.

Startled, Catherine hurriedly accelerated her descent to land before the rope broke, but the haste intensified the tearing of the rope, and Catherine screamed and fell to the bottom of the cavern with the sound of the cloth tearing abruptly again.

"Catherine!" Rogge was taken aback, and was about to pounce on and grab Catherine, who had fallen, when he saw a black shadow flying rapidly from behind the girl, and a red light flashed in midair, and a girl in a black feather coat flew up and kicked Catherine's buttocks impartially.

This sudden kick immediately changed the trajectory of Catherine's fall, and a forward lunge crashed into Rogge's arms, knocking him back a few steps and slamming his back against the wall.

"Hey, it's all right, you're a lucky star!" Rog grinned and moved his shoulder, looking down and touching Catherine's head.

The girl raised her head tremblingly, glanced at Rogge, who was staring down at her, and suddenly realized that she was lying in his arms, and hurriedly stepped back with a red face.

Caught off guard, a pair of arms covered with black feathers wrapped around Catherine's neck from behind, and the panicked Catherine's body suddenly lost her center of gravity and fell backwards into the abyss behind her.

Rog hurriedly reached out and grabbed her as he grabbed the little arm covered in black feathers and pulled Lilith off her body.

"Little thing, don't make a fuss! now is not the time to play pranks!" said Rogge, placing Lilith on the boardwalk beside him, with a serious face.

Little Lori looked up at Catherine, who was pale, and said with a mischievous smile: "Anyway, if I didn't kick that kick just now, she would have fallen to her death, if she fell just now, at most it means that I didn't kick that kick!"

"But you've already taken advantage of that!" said Rogge, pinching the little girl's cheek.

He pulled Catherine from the edge of the boardwalk to the side of the wall to prevent her from stumbling again, and Catherine looked at him gratefully, stealing a sneak glance at the mischievous smile on Lilith's face, not knowing whether to be grateful for her saving her life or angry at her for her prank.

"How's it going, is the mission done, little scout?" asked Rogge, crouching down and touching the little girl's short black hair, which was full of curly hair.

Lilith pointed to the bottom of the plank road with her little finger, and said in a milky voice, "That bad guy is tied to the pillar below! I guess he will be able to kill and eat meat soon, those goblins are lighting a fire, are they going to eat barbecue?"

"Don't think of goblins as elegant, they don't have the patience to care about how cooked the meat is!"

Rog walked to the boardwalk and looked towards the bottom of the cavern below, where he could vaguely see a huge bonfire rising in the center of the cavern, around which stakes and tall towers were erected with charms, and some goblins with strange masks were dancing strangely.

"Obviously, they have to sacrifice before they eat, and this custom is common among many races, including the higher races such as elves and humans!"

Rog waved his hand at the two of them and said, "Come on, it's not clear here, we've got to go ahead and see how that damn unlucky guy is doing!"

"I don't want to walk by myself!" Lilith waved her little hand and turned into a little owl, flapping her wings and flying to Rog's shoulder, Rogge gave her a helpless look, and turned back to Catherine: "What about you, I still have a shoulder, do you want to come up too?"

Catherine shook her head shyly, the blush on her face had not yet subsided from Rogge's hug, and a heart was beating wildly in her chest.

The two of them walked along the plank path, and with the cover of shadows, the cat bent down to avoid the sight of the goblin sentry in the distance, and came to a place where they could clearly see the situation at the bottom, and they saw that the man in black was tied to a log pillar, and although he struggled hard, he could not break free from the rope.

"How are we going to save him?" Catherine looked back at Rogge as she looked at the countless groups of goblins below.

Rogge's brows furrowed, scanning the arena, and before he could make a decision, a goblin suddenly walked towards the man in black with a gleaming boning knife in his hand.
