Verse 53 of the Altar Sutra also says: "If you can have your own truth in your heart, and having truth is the cause of becoming a Buddha; If you don't seek the truth, you will always be a fool to find the Buddha. "Repeatedly affirming that seeking truth from others and seeking Buddha from oneself is the only way for Huineng to teach his disciples to become Buddhas on the ground.
