Chapter 361: Only by putting it to death can it be reborn
In the dimly lit tunnel secret room, George and four other young people hiding here listened nervously to the movement outside the wall, and they heard a tentative knocking sound coming from outside the wall, someone knocked twice on the wall of the mechanism, and then continued to knock on the nearby wall, making a "pop" sound.
"Do you have a weapon?" George said to the three companions, Donnie and Grant shook their heads slightly, and Robin took a dagger from the shaft of his boots and shook it at him, meaning: this is the only weapon.
"Hell!" George sighed secretly, glancing at the wound on Donnie's arm, and his gaze fell on Donnie's face, with an implicit meaning in his inquiring gaze: How are you?
Donnie nodded silently and raised his huge black fist, George nodded approvingly, and glanced at Grant and Robin, the two helped Donnie stand up, George pointed at Robin and pointed his finger out of the wall, Robin understood, his right hand clenched the dagger, and the palm of his left hand condensed a cloud of magic light.
"The people inside come out for me, we know there are people inside!" A majestic voice echoed in the corridor outside the walls of the chamber, and the four young men watched the walls quietly and vigilantly, unmoved by the shouts outside.
"This wall is empty, smash it open for me!" the voice ordered loudly to the people around him, and then there was a sound of chain mail "clanging", heavy footsteps stopped outside the wall, and after a short silence a loud bang came, and the wall shook violently, as if something heavy had fallen on the wall.
"They're going to break the wall!" George looked back at his brothers, Grant and Donnie clenched their fists, Robin clenched his dagger and held the magic light in the palm of his left hand, George rolled up his left sleeve, revealing a repeating crossbow that never left his arm, and landed a decisive gaze on the wall in front of him.
One, two, three, boom, the wall of the mechanism was shattered by two heavy hammers, the masonry fell down with a "bang", the two soldiers who shattered the wall retreated, and the Itali soldiers who surrounded the wall raised their firearms and aimed at the dusty hole.
Before the dust cleared, a string of crossbow arrows flew out of the cave, and the soldiers who were suddenly attacked hurriedly dodged in all directions, and a purple ball of light was thrown from the cave and exploded on the ground outside the cave.
The armor of the soldiers affected by the light ball energy quickly rotted and corroded, and some even fell directly from the wearer, and before the panicked soldiers could react to what was going on, a strong man with dark skin and a young man with red hair rushed out of the cave and knocked several soldiers to the ground with their fists.
The rest of the soldiers hurriedly raised the guns in their hands, aimed at Donnie and Grant and pulled the trigger, only to hear a "click", the barrel of the gun in their hands was broken in two, and the projectiles filled in the barrel rolled out of the broken chamber and fell to the ground.
The soldiers were shocked, hurriedly threw away the damaged guns in their hands, drew their sabers from their waists and killed the two of them, Donnie and Grant snatched four long swords from the downed soldiers, threw two of them to George and Robin who rushed out of the cave, and the four of them swung their swords to kill a bloody path and fled in the direction of the tunnel entrance.
Seeing this, Robin recited a spell, turned around and pointed his sword at the ground, and a brown magic light shone on the ground, restraining the legs of the soldiers who came into contact with the light like a quagmire, making them slow to move and unable to continue the pursuit.
Seeing that the pursuers were gradually thrown away, the four of them breathed a sigh of relief, and continued to speed up their pace and run towards the exit of the tunnel, only their hurried and chaotic footsteps in the dim tunnel, and all the previous hustle and bustle seemed to have left them.
When they finally reached the entrance of the tunnel, George vigilantly climbed the ladder to the entrance of the cave, carefully lifted the cover disguised as weeds, looked out through a gap, and after making sure that there was nothing suspicious, he turned back to the four and said, "Everything is normal, let's go up!"
After saying that, he lifted the lid and leaned out, but before he could continue upward, a row of black hole muzzles suddenly stretched out in front of him, George was taken aback, and was about to shout to the three of them, when an Itali officer stepped forward and shouted: "Come up for me, and the people below are not allowed to move, otherwise I will kill him!"
He asked two soldiers to drag George up, press him to the ground and tie his hands behind his back, and then ordered the others to climb up in turn, George, who was lying on the ground, looked at the brightening wilderness with annoyance, and suddenly understood what he had said, thinking of the scene when he was separated from Rogge last night.
"Morality can't save lives, and it can't fight villains, if I don't do it to the despicable, the despicable will do it to me, and to be merciful to the enemy is to be cruel to myself......" Rogge's words echoed in George's ears, but all he could do at this time was a silent sigh.
He watched as Donnie, Grant, and Robin were disarmed and tied up at one point, and the Itali officer who led the team ordered them to be dragged up from the ground, looked at them one by one, and asked aloud, "Is there anyone else in there besides you?"
The four of them stared at him silently and didn't speak, the officer raised his eyebrows, and sneered: "Don't speak, okay, wait for me to bring you back, see if you can open your mouth!"
He asked the soldiers to tie up the four of them together, and sent a team of soldiers to guard the side, while the others sealed the tunnel entrance as it was, and continued to wait around the tunnel entrance.
The sky was getting brighter, and the four of them, who had been exhausted all night, could only bow their heads helplessly and doze off after many attempts to break free from the rope to no avail, and just as they were about to fall asleep, a crisp sound suddenly sounded in the field in the distance.
The four of them suddenly shuddered and hurriedly turned their heads to look in the direction from which the sound came, but they saw nothing except the fields swaying in the breeze in the bright morning sun.
At this time, the soldiers at the tunnel crossing not far away panicked, because their leading officer had his head pierced a bloody hole, and he collapsed straight on the grass, splashing blood mixed with brains and splashing on the blades of grass.
The panicked soldiers looked around with their long-handled muskets in their hands, looking for the enemy who was attacking them, and a moment later, a second gunshot rang out, and another soldier fell in a pool of blood, and the surrounding soldiers screamed in fright, scattered and trembling to observe the surrounding situation.
Suddenly, the gunfire began again in the distant wilderness, and a soldier who was observing with a probe was shot and fell to the ground, but his companions around him saw a flash of fire, pointed in that direction and shouted a warning, and the other soldiers raised their guns together to shoot in that direction.
When the shooting was over, the reloaded soldiers looked cautiously to see a figure in a gray cloak rising from the grass after a brief silence and striding towards them.
"Don't move, anyone!" Seeing that the other party was empty-handed, the soldiers stood up boldly, and shouted sharply at each other with a row of firearms.
The other party was indifferent to their shouting, and while walking towards them with a relaxed pace, he unhurriedly took down a long-handled firearm more than a meter long from his back, raised his gun and aimed at random, only to hear a gunshot, and a soldier fell to the ground screaming.
The rest of the soldiers were shocked and hurriedly pulled the trigger to shoot at the man, but their guns could not reach each other at all, and the bullet fell to the ground before it could reach the other party, and the gray-robed man seemed to know this, and calmly reloaded his gun and knocked one soldier to the ground again.
"How is that possible? Why can his firearms hit us, but we can't hit him!" The soldiers were completely panicked, and for a moment they didn't know who shouted "Run!" The crowd dispersed in a panic and ran in the direction of Itali City.
The gray-robed man was not in a hurry to catch up, and continued to walk forward unhurriedly, calmly and skillfully loading, aiming, and shooting as he went, and with every shot a soldier fell to the ground.
When the footsteps of the gray-robed man stopped beside George and the others, she put down the super fire gun in her hand, lifted the hood of the cloak on her head, looked at the three remaining soldiers who had run away, and saw a cloud of smoke rise suddenly in front of them, and a man wearing a black high hat appeared in front of them.
"Hey, gentlemen, don't leave in a hurry, the show hasn't started yet!" the magician, dressed in a tuxedo and holding a short cane, smiled slightly, stretched out a hand to stop the three soldiers, and said, "Would you like to come and participate in my magic trick?"
"Get out of the way, or I'll kill you!" one of the soldiers shouted viciously, raising his firearm viciously.
"Then you might as well try!" said the magician, smiling and shrugging his shoulders.
"Kill this bastard in your way!" the soldier glared at him angrily, shouted and pulled the trigger, and with the sound of gunshots, a cloud of smoke filled the air, and the soldiers in the smoke could not see their fingers, trying to flee but lost their way.
When the smoke finally cleared, two of the soldiers were surprised to find that the soldier who had fired the shot was standing where the magician had been standing, and had been shot in the chest and collapsed on his back, while the magician was standing where he was standing, shaking his head in regret.
"The magic is over, I hope you guys have fun, guys!" the magician walked behind the two soldiers, patted them on the shoulder, and reached out to pull out two metal cards embedded in their throats at some point, and before the two soldiers could react to what was happening, blood suddenly spurted from their throats and they fell to the ground.
Locke, the "swallowtail scorpion" who put away the card, walked leisurely to George and the others, and saw that Catherine had untied the ropes on their bodies, George and the others thanked the two for saving each other, and then asked Catherine about Rogge's whereabouts.
"Mr. Rogge told us to return from the tunnels to the guild hideout, where he will be waiting for us. Catherine pointed to the entrance of the tunnel not far away and said, "Let's go look for him now!"
"I agree, if we go late, we won't be able to see the show in time!" said Locke with a meaningful smile.
"Wait a minute, are we going back to the tunnel?" George and the others widened their eyes in surprise, thinking that they had misheard: "It's all the king's soldiers, aren't we going back to kill ourselves?"
"Haven't you heard a word, kid?" Locke walked past George with a smile, his beautiful and sly eyes with a mysterious smile, and whispered, "Put it to death, so that you can live after you, come on, we're going to miss the show!"
