Chapter 12: Divination
At eight o'clock in the evening, Luo Wei was bored lying on the sofa in the living room.
I don't know if my sister's outing publicity is ineffective, or if there is really no one in this world who is interested in divination. All in all, there were no guests visiting for the whole day.
And it's already dark, but my sister hasn't come back yet.
Although, in memory, this is not uncommon - her best friend occasionally invites her to some entertainment activities and the like. But out of vigilance, Luo Wei still can't help but worry.
"Do you want to look for it? But I can't go out......"
Lowe was a little irritable.
But then, the sound of horse-drawn carriages came from the street outside the door.
In a poorer civilian community like Shiso Street, it is impossible for anyone to own a horse-drawn carriage. If nothing else, it must be my sister who is back.
Luo Wei sat up suddenly, rushed to the door and opened the door.
Then he saw Belinda, who had a very bad face, covering her mouth and being helped out of the car by another girl.
"What's going on?" Lowe muttered to himself and stepped forward curiously.
Is there a saying that riding in a carriage also has motion sickness?
"Mr. Austin? Good evening. β
When Lowe took Belinda's arm and held her up, the girl across from her saluted gracefully.
"Hello. Who are you? β
"Yvette Lane. The second daughter of Earl Lane, perhaps Belinda should have mentioned it to you. Yvette introduced herself.
Oh, this is my sister's best friend, that academic genius.
Lowe patted his head. Although I haven't seen her, who else can send my sister home at this point, but this good girlfriend?
"It's been a long-standing name. It's an honor to meet for the first time! Luo Wei said very politely, and then raised his hand to make a "please" gesture, "Come and sit at home?" β
"Huh?" Yvette turned to look at Belinda.
Belinda looked bad, but she reached out and grabbed Yvette's sleeve.
"You're welcome." Yvette grinned, gave a command to the servant beside the carriage, and helped Belinda into the house with Lowe.
Two minutes later.
The little girl sat on the sofa and drank half a cup of hot water, and her face looked a little better.
"What the hell is going on?"
Luo Wei looked at Belinda's embarrassed appearance and couldn't help but be curious.
"Haha, she's scared by Oriental cuisine." Yvette took the initiative to take over, "Today we went to Davis's house together, and I want to see Oriental cuisine......"
"...... vomit," Belinda's violent reaction interrupted the description.
Seeing this, Yvette shrugged her shoulders at Lowe helplessly, meaning "It's better not to remember looking at her like this."
"Lie down and rest for a while......" Luo Wei sighed and patted his sister on the shoulder.
Belinda nodded obediently, handed the quilt in her hand to Lowe, and curled up on the couch.
Seeing her lethargic appearance, Yvette suddenly remembered the events of the day, and asked:
"Speaking of which, Mr. Austin. Did you sit in a tower for Belinda before she left the house today...... Uh, divination? β
"Just call me Lowe." He replied, "That's right." I invented a set of tarot cards myself that allows for some simple divination. β
"Ah, yes, it's Tarot!" Yvette clapped her hands, her eyes lit up, "Belinda told me about the divination, and then todayβhow do you say it...... At least in my opinion, the predicted results are completely accurate! β
"Oh?" Lowe was a little surprised.
Most people do divination just for peace of mind, and many people can even forget almost all the divination content after 10 minutes after the divination is over.
Yvette could be so obsessed with the results of divination?
"Hee-hee, the specific Belinda won't let me say." Yvette stuck out her tongue, "But it's accurate." It's not the same as expected, but it's true. β
Lowe thought back to the morning.
To summarize briefly, divination gives a total of three contents:
First, focus in a certain environment for the whole day;
Second, pulling, where someone wants to talk to you, but you don't want to talk to him;
Third, reject someone's kindness.
Needless to say, since the morning, Belinda has been super focused on listening to lectures and studying in order to get rid of this restless state of "her crush was discovered by her brother".
Pulling, naturally, refers to and Yvette - Yvette wanted to chat with Belinda several times during class, reminding her that "the first is being fulfilled", but Belinda was too focused on diverting her attention and ignored Yvette.
As for the third article, "reject a person's good intentions"......
Yvette had thought that this divination should have said that Belinda would refuse Davis's offer. In fact, Belinda has a clear rejection of the Oriental chef's cooking methods...... So he refused the food offered by the chef and fled from the table rather embarrassed......
Although something like "massaging the fish meat with her hands for forty minutes" does sound like it makes her feel a little uncomfortable.
"I don't know what happened though...... However, it's good that people are okay. β
Lowe sighed and reached out to rub Belinda's hair. The little girl shrunk her neck and snorted with a slight dissatisfaction.
Bell β
The clock on the wall rang, and it was already eight o'clock in the evening.
"I'll be back later. Mr. Lowe, if you don't mind, could you do a divination for me too? Yvette looked up at her watch and asked in a hurried tone, "What do I think about this......?" Tarot divination, very interested! β
"Don't look for my brother for divination......" Belinda's weak voice came, "it will become unfortunate ......"
Yvette smiled dumbly: "How can it be, today is obviously that you care too much about this matter." Originally, if you didn't take it to heart, you would probably reject Davis directly, right? β
ββ¦β¦β
Belinda snorted sullenly.
"So, Mr. Lowe, will you grant my request?" Yvette grinned and looked at Lowe again.
"It's not a problem." Lowe nodded, stood up and said, "Wait a minute, I'll go upstairs and get it." β
"Doesn't it need a specific place or any ceremony?" As Lowe walked up the stairs, Yvette asked, sitting on the couch and sticking her head out.
"No, it's not that strict."
β¦β¦
Five minutes later, on the dining table.
"Alright."
Lowe sat across from Yvette and gently cut the shuffled deck apart.
"Close your eyes, take a deep breath and focus on thinking, 'What's going to happen tomorrow?' and draw a card from it. β
Yvette complied.
Her hand felt it many times from left to right before she finally drew a card from a very inconspicuous position.
"I have a question."
After drawing the cards, Yvette tilted her head to look at Lowe: "This tarot card, can only predict what will happen tomorrow?" Or can you predict anything? β
"Actually, you can predict anything, but generally only for a short period of time." Lowe replied truthfully.
"Shorter time?"
"Well, if it's time-sensitive, the forecast will be more accurate in one month, and the credibility will decrease slightly between three months and six months. No matter how long it takes, it's hard to guarantee. β
Luo Wei saw that the girl was very interested in learning about tarot knowledge, so he simply popularized science: "The role of tarot divination is to predict what will happen with a high probability in the future. But as we all know, people's destiny is constantly changing with actions. β
"Oh......" Yvette nodded knowingly.
"This time, I only did a simple 'tomorrow's horoscope' divination, mainly because I didn't have enough time."
Lowe smiled, the clock on the wall was already pointing to eight-twenty, and for a student like her, it was already time to go home.
"I understand, hee-hee."
Yvette bared her tiger teeth and put her hand on the card on the table, "Can I lift it now?" β
"Yes, open it."
With the movement of Yvette's fingers, an upside-down card appeared in front of the two of them.
Men and women with garlands on their heads stood facing each other, both holding golden chalice in their hands. In the middle, from the palms of the two people's hands, extended two snake-wrapped staffs, the crimson lion head above the staff, and the wings spread out on both sides.
"The two of the Holy Grails are reversed."
Seeing this card, Lowe smiled and said, "I think tomorrow you will have a full and happy life, Miss Yvette." β
