Chapter 56: Kill a Bear
It's still in the range of human running speeds, but his endurance is surprisingly long-lasting when moving forward with weights.
Sierra lay on his hot back, and could clearly feel the lines of his tensed muscles that were like chasms, each of which felt like a hard fiery stone.
Eric's forehead was covered with fine beads of sweat, not overheated, but simply irritated by the tiny hands that kept groping behind his back.
His mouth is now parched, and his endurance is almost at its peak.
"Serra..."
Eric stopped behind a stout redwood tree.
His voice was low, with a little bit of bubble magnetism.
"What's wrong?" Sierra asked in the same whisper.
"If you're interested in my body, we can go back and touch it again." He turned his head, and all he could see was the girl's half-exposed shoulders.
Serra's cheeks flushed at what he said, and she obediently hung her hand around his neck again, "I just think you're in good shape, nothing else." β
"Thanks, but we have business to do now." Eric gently placed her on the ground and pulled her over and encircled her between the tree and himself.
"Whatβ" Serra's heart fluttered, and it was hard not to think about it as she turned her back to him and was about to be pushed up the tree.
"Look ahead." Eric held one hand against the trunk and pointed forward with the other in front of her.
Serra followed the direction of his finger and looked through a patch of undergrowth, where two pretty-colored wild deer were bowing their heads to a narrow stream of water the width of a palm.
The slender stream of water passes through a pile of mossy stones and rotting leaves, and the sunlight leaking through the leaves crumbles on it, and the extremely light halo and the crystalline water in the air combine perfectly, giving the light a misty shape.
"It's so beautiful!" Serra sighed, "I don't even want to eat them." β
Eric chuckled, "No, we don't eat them. β
"So what is this?"
Serra's hand holding the gun was lifted up by Eric, who taught her how to pull the safety bolt and slowly pointed the gun in the direction of the two deer, "It's not just us two hunters here. β
To be safe, Eric had almost his entire chest pressed against her back.
Sierra leaned into his arms, staring intently ahead, "How do you know?" I still didn't see any other prey. β
Eric lowered his head to her, his hot breath spilling wetly behind her ear, "Look at the spot with a few little daisies blooming." β
Serra swallowed silently, she always felt that the teenager was seducing her, and she had a hard time concentrating.
"It's like... There are bushes moving. "Her breath was unsteady.
The two deer, who were still bowing their heads and drinking water, suddenly moved their ears and raised their heads, and they looked around vigilantly, and their big black eyes without a trace of blank space kept scanning the surroundings.
"Here it is, Serra." Eric's lips touched her ear, causing Sierra to tremble, "Eric..."
At that moment, a huge black bear roared out of the long-dormant grass, its shadow exposed to the shattered light, and the sunlight illuminated its fur black brown.
Before Serra could come to her senses, Eric's index finger was already pressing down on her finger and pulling the trigger.
The bullet passed between the two wild deer in an instant, and shot precisely into the black bear's eye, which was almost hidden in its hair.
"Bang!"
The sound of the gunfire dispersed the wild deer and the surrounding animals, and the black bear fell heavily to the edge of the water, as the limbs of the shot kept moving and fluttering, and the blood slowly flowed from the eye sockets.
This scene lasted for about three or four minutes before the black bear stopped struggling.
Serra, who had witnessed the whole process, pulled the handle out of the gun and gasped, "We... Killed a bear. β
"Today's dinner has been settled." Eric retracted his gun and said with a smile, "Do you want that skin?" In winter, you can make a coat jacket. β
Serra relieved herself and replied, "No, you can keep it and sell it for money, it's worth a lot." β
She had previously learned about the hunting life of the nobles, which was the most socially rich normal activity, but it didn't feel very pleasant to actually shoot and kill animals herself, at least she wouldn't play it a second time, she was only suitable for eating ready-made at the table.
She looked at Eric with a big smile, who had let go of her to fight the bear.
Hunting, earning money, and then making ends meet is nothing more than the most normal part of life for these werewolves.
Serra thought it was okay, at least they chose to retreat into the woods instead of going down to hunt humans.
Eric remembered that she wanted to eat rabbits, and on the way back he taught her how to familiarize herself with guns while finding holes and digging two rabbit nests.
Seeing that he had filled the sack with seven or eight rabbits, Serra couldn't help but ask, "Do you want to send a few more to Annahi?" β
"Give it to her?" He was surprised that she asked, and immediately frowned and explained: "Of course not, these are for you to eat." β
Sitting on her horse, Serra opened her eyes, "How can I eat so much!" How many do you want to let go? β
Eric smiled and said, "Grenie has to eat two people's portions now, she will help you solve it if you can't finish eating, don't worry." β
Serra nodded, and then heard the question in his words again, "Wait... What does it mean for one person to eat two people's portions? β
"Didn't Gail tell you? Greenee is pregnant. Eric replied.
Serra shook her head in shock, "He didn't tell me, so he wants to open a butcher shop in town...?" β
"Our tribe has had no children since I was born." Eric lowered his eyes with an obscure expression, "He's worried that he won't be able to take care of this child. β
To put it bluntly, their money may not be enough to support the delicate raising of a child.
"Does Gail want to open a butcher shop to increase his income? How to take better care of your children? Sierra asked.
Eric nodded, "We have to be ready for the upcoming child, meat and water alone will not feed him." β
"Why? Each of you is physically strong. Serra was curious.
Eric pursed his lips and looked at her, apologetically, "This involves some ethnic secrets, I'm sorry Serra, I can't say." β
"Okay, I understand, and I'll do my best to help." She comforted, "When we settle things down in the evening, we'll go and rent a butcher's shop in town." β
"I'm glad you chose to help instead of... Alms. Eric smiled.
"Hey, Eric." Serra steered the horse closer to him, her brown eyes lit up in the setting sun, "I don't want to hurt your pride, we can work together." β
The girl smiled sweetly at him, "I said I don't care if you're rich or poor, you're you, Eric, and so is your race." β
Eric looked at her in a daze.
