Chapter 9: Departure

The crisp clash of leather shoes against the stone floor echoed through the empty hallway.
Dressed in black opulence, Victor, with his blond hair casually, strolls unhurriedly along the wide, but cold-hued, corridors of the high dome covered with classical frescoes.
Behind him was Perona, a long-haired pink girl in a black gothic dress, who refused to let go of her small umbrella even in the corridor.
The footsteps stopped, and the two stood in front of a lacquered wood double door.
Squeak~~~ Quack~~~~~!
There was a screeching sound of tooth aching, and the door was slowly pushed open by Victor. What greeted you was an empty but enclosed stone chamber, windowless and without torches, illuminated only by a faint light from the corridor outside the gate, and in the middle was a sturdy square iron prison. A Humpty Dumpty man in a tattered suit and trousers with a bare upper body wrapped in bandages sits in the middle of a cell with his eyes closed, and it is none other than Capone Becky, who has been defeated by Victor.
Perona trotted to the side of the room, lit a candle placed on a small raised platform on the wall, and pulled a chair over and placed it directly in front of the cell.
Victor sat down in his chair, looked at Capone Becky, who seemed to be asleep, and said gently, "Mr. Becky, why are you doing this?" At that time, you agreed to join us at the end of the battle. ā
"That's right! I was convicted at the time!! Anger appeared on Capone Becky's face, and he swooped down in front of the cage, grabbed the steel fence and roared at Victor, "But the agreement doesn't say that the merger of the 'Capone Gang' into 'Coral' is to disband all the Capone gangs!" You are not trying to annex us, but you want to destroy us completely!! I put all my heart and soul into forming the 'Capone Gang'! And you bastard's frivolous agreement just ruined everything! ā
"So you attacked Dr. Rurta who was healing you? He was a true gentleman. Victor smiled and opened a box from his bosom containing two of the finest cigars from Whiff Island. He handed the match and humidor to Capone Becky, who hesitated and took it.
Victor watched quietly as Capone Becky lit the match, skillfully and slightly impatiently placing the cigar on the fire and roasting it. It wasn't until Becky took two puffs of his cigar and showed a pleasant expression that he said gently: "Mr. Becky, I know that there is some misunderstanding between us, so you see, I am here to communicate with you." ā
Becky's face was shrouded in smoke, and he was silent for a few seconds before asking, "A gangster, who doesn't seek money, women, and power, Mafia Victor, what are you up to?" ā
Victor leaned forward slightly, smiled and whispered, "This world." ā
Capone Becky paused for a moment and burst out laughing. He laughed so wildly that Perona, who was standing behind Victor, looked annoyed.
After a long time, Becky finally stopped laughing, wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, and sneered: "Oh Victor, my dear boss...... You're young and talented, but you're nothing compared to those monsters. ā
Victor was not angry at such a naked taunt, he stood up and walked to the cage, leaned over and whispered a few words to Becky. Capone Becky's face turned pale with a few words, he took a few steps back, looked at Victor in shock and muttered, "You're crazy...... Crazy......"
This time it was no longer a mockery, but a panicked self-soothing.
Victor smiled playfully, "Mr. Becky, is that all you have to offer?" Come on, the magnificent era is coming, take my boat, you will have the opportunity to see the scenery of the world's peak. ā
Capone Becky sipped on one cigar after another, and Victor waited patiently for his reply.
After a long time, Becky threw the cigar butt to the ground and asked in a hoarse voice, "What are your plans?" ā
A smile appeared on the corner of Victor's mouth: "First of all, let's go to the country of flowers. ā
"The Land of Flowers? That country of martial arts? Can I ask where we're going, boss? Becky put on her tattered blazer.
"There's the 'power' I need." Victor watched as Perona opened the cell door and responded to Capone Becky.
Two days later, in the early morning.
"Boss! Take me one! I'm sure I'm not going to hold back! ā
A large merchant ship is moored at the Ringing Wharf in the north of Alghero Town, where a group of black-clad gangsters are seeing Victor off, but a thin monkey is excitedly introducing himself to Victor.
"Stupid monkey Mime! My brother is going to the country of flowers to talk about the arms business! You are not allowed to mess with it! Perona was so angry that she scolded the skinny boy for not being stopped by Victor.
The skinny boy called Mime didn't pay any attention to Perona, but just looked at Victor with adoration in his eyes, and said excitedly, "Victor, boss! Please, I'm sure I'll be able to help! IāI've been cultivating for a long time! You see! As he spoke, he hurriedly rolled up his sleeves to reveal his dry little arms, trying to squeeze out a little muscle.
Capone Becky, who was standing behind Victor, pursed his lips in disgust and asked the black-haired man beside him in a low voice, "Kransner, what's the matter with this little monkey?" ā
The man questioned had black hair and a shawl, wore a black trench coat and a gentleman's hat, and a wooden staff of civilization. He replied with a smile, "Mr. Capone probably doesn't know much about Meme's situation. He was originally an orphan from the slums of Narva Town, and once he was caught stealing bread, but it was the boss Victor who rescued him, and he worshipped the boss as an idol ever since. ā
It's not as simple as Kransner suggests. At that time, Mime was about to starve to death, and he couldn't bear it so much that he had to take the risk and go to the notoriously mean-hearted 'Dodor Berry bakery' to steal some food, but he was found by the boss because his hands and feet were weak because of hunger. Just when he was about to be beaten to death, Victor, who had gone on a mission there, found and rescued him.
Victor paid double the bread money for Mime, bandaged Mime's wounds with his own hands, and left him all the packed food he bought from the restaurant. Abandoned since childhood, Mime, who didn't know what care was, felt 'care' and 'warmth' for the first time. He did everything possible to find out Victor's origins, and secretly took a passenger ship to Alghero Town to join the 'Coral' organization, and through his efforts became a subordinate of the cadre Victor.
On the docks, Victor is helplessly coping with Mime's entanglement. To be honest, he didn't really want to take Mime to the Land of Flowers, not because he looked down on Mime, but because the trip was really dangerous. In addition to the necessary crew for the voyage, Victor brought only the new adviser Perona, the new storekeeper Capone Becky, and the cadre Kransner Edmund. The latter is a very powerful cadre in the 'Coral' organization, but it is a pity that he was suppressed by Pi Ping because he was jealous before.
Victor thought for a moment, then asked Mime with a straight face, "If you have to get on the ship, then you must promise me one condition - you must obey Perona's orders unconditionally." ā
Mime turned his head with difficulty to look at Perona, who was full of sneers, and bowed sharply to Victor: "Please rest assured, boss! ā
Victor nodded, then turned his head to look at the white-haired old man who had been standing quietly aside, and said warmly, "Mr. Wendru, I will trouble you to take care of the gang during my absence. ā
"Rest assured, boss." The old man bowed slightly and said respectfully: "I wish you prosperity on this journey." ā
Victor smiled, the old man was clever enough to guess his true intentions.
"Alright, everybody, get on board! Depart for the Land of Flowers! ā
