Chapter 18: Nicole Robin
"In other words, our Miss Robin has always been lurking in the 'Suleiman family'?"
Victor took out a bottle of whiskey from the wine cabinet with just over half a bottle left, leaned over and poured a small glass for Wendru himself:
"It's so dark under the lights, I almost thought she had left the West Sea...... Everybody says you're a master taster, please. ā
Wendrew stood up and bowed slightly in thanks, and after taking a small sip, his eyes lit up: "Johnnie Walker, from Whiff Island, good wine!" ā
He lowered his glass on the table and said, "I have given Miss Robin the note, as you have commanded, and told her that you will be returning soon." She said that she would be staying at the headquarters for the time being, waiting for your summons at any time. ā
Victor said gently, "Thank you, Mr. Wendru. Please also inform our Miss Robin, that I am waiting for her in this large chamber. ā
"Yes, boss."
The old man drank the little whiskey left in his glass, picked up the hand-knitted coat and bowler hat from the hanger, bowed slightly to Victor again, and quietly left the room.
Victor put away the drinking utensils and leaned back in the high-backed chair to close his eyes. After a while, there were two knocks on the door: "Boss, the person you made an appointment with has arrived." ā
"Please let her in."
Feeling someone walk into the room, Victor opened his eyes and smiled.
What appeared in front of her was a tall woman who looked about 20 years old, her long black hair was simply tied up at the back of her head, the black hip-wrapping leather skirt and leather high boots highlighted her perfect figure with a convex and backward curl, and her face full of intellectual beauty was slightly covered with light makeup.
"First meeting, boss, my name is ......"
"Ah, don't rush to introduce yourself, my dear lady. Would you like to sit down and have tea? Victor stretched out his hand and motioned for the woman in front of him to sit at will.
"Oh, no...... Tea doesn't have to be, thank you. The brunette calmed down a bit, and sat down not far from Victor, but not too close.
"Nicole Robin, can I call you Miss Robin? Very good. Seeing Robin nod in agreement, Victor smiled and said, "Look, we got off to a perfect start, right?" ā
He picked up an old wanted warrant from the table and pushed it in Robin's direction: "To be honest, I didn't expect Suleiman 'Speartail Snake' to have the courage to take you, the wanted man with a bounty of 79 million berry, under his command. ā
The photo on the wanted warrant is a little girl with black hair, and the words underneath read, "'Son of the Devil' Nicole Robin, 79 million Berry, life or death." ā
Robin's face turned a little pale, and Victor continued to say leisurely: "Even if the 'Suleiman family' is not annexed by the 'coral', it will not be long before it will be destroyed by the navy that heard the news. Hehe, the 'spear-tailed snake' was obsessed, but he didn't realize that he was already in trouble. ā
"After the 'Speartail Snake' was defeated by me, the wreckage of the 'Suleiman family' was also fully received by the 'Coral'. You realize that this is a great opportunity, because Suleiman wants to take you without mentioning your identity and bounty to the others, and as soon as he dies, you can take the opportunity to lurk in the 'Coral' as a common gang, and even if you are discovered, you can convince me to accept you with your beauty and outstanding strength, until 'Coral' is completely destroyed by the navy that pursues you. ā
Robin couldn't help but say, "IāI didn't think about using your ......."
Victor shook his finger: "You were attracted by what was written on the note given to you by Mr. Vindru, and you found that I had returned from this trip with a strange beautiful woman, and you thought that you could convince me of lust with your outstanding looks." But I need to remind you that you have good taste in dressing, but your makeup skills need to be improved. ā
Victor spread his hands and said gently, "These words are a bit direct and rude, but I think what you and I need is a simple and clear exchange, and I hope you don't mind, Miss Robin." ā
Robin's eyes were red and he bit his lip, forcing himself not to lose his temper: "I didn't seduce Mr. Suleiman with beauty!" He was in dire need of an underground intelligence handler, and I was just in the right place for that! I didn't mean to use 'coral' or the boss as a shield for me, I just came here to ask the boss why you left me this note! ā
Her emotions are a little out of control, after all, she is only 20 years old at this time, and she is in the good old age of youth, and she does not have the maturity and stability of 28 years old in the comics.
The note that was thrown on the table had a name written on it - Olvia.
"You wrote the name on purpose...... You know who she is, right? Robin's voice trembled a little.
"Nicole Olvia, beautiful silver-haired explorer." Victor's eyes wandered a little, as if he remembered a long memory: "I was only 4 years old that year, and her expedition was passing through my hometown of Corey Village for a few days to replenish supplies, during which time this learned lady taught me a lot of words. To be honest, I am grateful to her for treating me, the son of a fisherman from a poor background, as an equal. ā
Victor looked at the stunned Robin with soft eyes, and said, "She mentioned that she had a daughter named Nicole Robin, and you should have been 7 years old at the time. ā
"I later learned that it had been several years since O'Hara Island was wiped out." Victor shook his head and sighed lightly, "And your name appears on the wanted notice." So, Olvia also died in that disaster, right? ā
Robin didn't know what else to say for a while, she had been hiding in Tibet for 12 years just to have a place to live, but at this time she suddenly learned that the biggest gang leader in the West Sea was her mother's old friend.
Victor said gently, "Don't worry, Robin. Your mother told me that what you O'Hara was studying, it was not a bad thing, and it was not something that should be forbidden. History should be known to the world! ā
Robin burst into tears and threw herself into Victor's arms and wept bitterly.
Is this really the case?
Most of them are correct. When Victor was 4 years old, the archaeological expedition led by Olvia did stay on the island of Corey for a few days. During this period, Orvia made a good impression of this taciturn but studious boy, and specially taught him a lot of rare words, and left him a few books when he left. But how could she possibly reveal the forbidden knowledge that O'Hara had studied to a strange boy who had met for less than a few days?
Later, when Victor was 7 years old, he woke up in a dream and learned about Olvia's origins. It's a pity that two years have passed since O'Hara was destroyed, and he doesn't have the strength to go to sea to find Robin.
Later, Victor was able to go to sea, but he could no longer find out about Robin's whereabouts. It wasn't until he became the leader of the Coral that he was able to run the Order's intelligence force to find Robin, but he didn't realize that she was hiding in the territory ruled by the Suleiman family.
Victor is not just trying so hard to find Robin because of Olvia, his ambition is to reach the top of this world, but the interpretation of historical texts is a big problem, and his special insight and domineering 'Apocalypse' can only show the effect of the item's ability rather than translate the text.
Either get Gore M. D. Roger's power to listen to everything, or find a translator!
Looking down at the intellectual beauty crying in his arms, Victor was determined - the last piece of the puzzle was in hand, and the goal of the second stage was completed.
When I complete the objectives of the third stage, I can sweep the West Sea and go to the Great Voyage!
