Chapter 58: The Ark
Robin led the group into the white building behind him after hugging Li Yu.
As soon as he entered the door, Li Yu was attracted by the murals on both sides, which depicted the myths and legends of various ethnic groups.
Some of them Li Yu has heard, such as Kuafu's day-to-day, Nezha's troubles, Jesus' crucifixion, as well as the stories of the Golden Fleece, the Sphinx, and so on.
The gods on the mural all look lifelike.
"Research is to stand on the shoulders of our predecessors and look at them, and from the first day we want to draw nourishment from the wisdom of our predecessors."
Robin paused, "Besides, these murals serve other purposes than just inspiration. β
"What does it do?"
"It's also part of the tight security measures here." Sarah, an Indian woman next to Robin, answered, "If someone with bad intentions comes here, it will trigger an attack on the mural." β
Hephaestus came with a cup in his hand.
"The green tea here just finished yesterday, and I haven't had time to replenish the stock yet, is it okay to use black tea?"
"Thank you." Li Yu took the steaming teacup from his hand and took a sip, feeling a lot better.
It may be because he has been traveling across planes recently, and the dizziness caused by the high reaction comes and goes quickly.
Coming out of the giant tree and walking all the way to the white building, Li Yu was almost used to it.
The group passed by the mural, and nothing happened during the process.
In addition to those murals, Li Yu also noticed that there were many cameras in the hall, and there were also guards patrolling.
Apparently the Tertiary did not put all their eggs in one basket, and there were normal security measures in place outside of theological means to ensure the safety of the building.
Robin continued to introduce Li Yu, "We are now located in the reception hall, in addition to the reception hall, there is a canteen, a hospital, a convenience store, and a staff lounge and activity center on the first floor. β
He said hello to the administrative staff at the front desk, and then swiped the elevator with a badge hanging from the front of his neck.
"On the second floor is the administrative office, Labs 3-6, which mainly conduct some routine experiments."
"Routine experiments?"
Robin nodded and walked into the elevator, "It's like the glove in your hand, it was designed by Hephaestus, it seems to be called [Force Gauntlet], and it is here that most of the research and development work is done." β
Li Yu and the others followed Robin into the elevator, and Robin pressed the button with the number 3 written on the top.
"On the third floor is the core laboratory No. 1-2, which I am personally responsible for solving problems related to the Salvation Project."
Li Yu glanced at the control panel of the elevator, "What about the negative floor, what is there?" β
"Some failed experiments, plus some relics of our predecessors that we found outside." Robin didn't hide it either, "These things are usually dangerous, but they have a certain research value, so they are not destroyed, but temporarily stored by us." β
At this time, a female voice sounded in the elevator.
"Welcome back, Dr. Robin, Researchers Sara and Hephaestus, I see that you have a visitor today, the five directors of the Board of Directors and ...... An unfamiliar face.
"It's rare in a company, and if I'm not mistaken, he's probably the savior you've been talking about."
"That's right, Samantha." Robin said.
"Wow, that's really a long-standing name." Although the voice said this, there was no emotional change in the voice.
"Who is this?" Li Yu said.
"Samantha, the semi-intelligent AI in the company." "We usually use it to help us with complex calculations and analyses, but it seems to prefer to sneak around to other electronic terminals and chat with people." β
"My computing power is so powerful that chatting only takes up a small part of it, and it helps me understand human beings and serve them better." β
"I wish I could find such a good excuse when I fish." Hephaestus muttered.
The elevator soon came to the third floor.
As the door opened, there was a corridor outside, and at first glance, Li Yu almost thought that he was back in the office building of the Tertiary period in City B, because the decoration style here was almost the same as there.
However, there are only two doors in the entire corridor, located at the ends of the corridor, with the numbers 1 and 2 on them, and two rows of terracotta warriors on either side of the corridor.
Ignoring the terracotta warriors, Robin walked straight past them to the number 1 gate, using his fingerprint to unlock the heavy-looking lock.
"That's my lab ahead of me."
Robin opened the door, and Li Yu saw a room the size of half a football field.
It was filled with all sorts of bizarre instruments, including a pilot-like centrifuge, a forging table, and two man-tall MΓΆbius rings with mercury-like substances flowing on them.
However, the most eye-catching thing is a golden pillar of light in the center, Li Yu followed Robin to the pillar of light, and a human face suddenly appeared above the pillar of light.
The human face struggled to break out of the pillar of light, but it was firmly restrained by some unknown force, unable to escape, and it was only less than half a meter away from the pillar of light before it was sucked back again.
"It's a soul cage." Robin said, "Our experiments require the use of souls, and it is too troublesome to find them every time, so it is better to collect them all at once, store them and use them slowly." β
"Where do these souls come from?" Li Yu asked.
"It's mainly death row prisoners from various countries, plus some homeless people who don't have an identity and no one cares, and you can get the [Reincarnation Bell] These people are indispensable.
"But the [Reincarnation Bell] alone is obviously not enough to take so many people to another plane, we need a more powerful vehicle.
"βThe Ark."
"The legendary ark? You even built Noah's Ark? Li Yu raised his eyebrows, "Where is it?" β
"You've actually seen it." Robin winked at Li Yu.
Li Yu looked around, but he didn't see anything that could be called a ship, and the legendary ark was more than 130 meters long, more than 70 meters wide, and had a total of three floors, so such a big ship couldn't fit into the laboratory at all.
Li Yu's expression suddenly moved when he thought of this, "Wait, if you don't count the underground, this building also has three floors, and the length and width are also close to the legendary ark." β
"That's right, this building is the body of the Ark." Sara simply admitted, "It will take us to the New World." β
