Chapter 264: How to Revive the Dharma
The fist is huge, so big that it is invincible in the world. The name is justified, and no one can find fault with it. The two advantages add up, and if you are not an emperor, you have a hole in your brain.
This is a truth recognized by everyone in the world.
But this is the rule of fighting for the world, and it is not very suitable for Buddhism.
If Dao Ran swept the mortal world with great mana, he would turn all the different branches of Buddhism into Jinshan Temple branches. Then he forced the emperor to make Buddhism the state religion, popularize Buddhism throughout the mortal world, and learn Buddhist scriptures first when children learn to write.
Maybe at the beginning, the Buddha *** was very happy.
After all, what Dao Ran handed down is the true scriptures, not the deceptive things of Lanruo Temple and Lingyin Temple. Then, the Buddha flourished for decades, hundreds of years, and then the Great Zhou Dynasty would repeat the tragedy of the Tang Dynasty.
Although Dao Ran is a fake monk with different hearts, the scriptures he reads are all true, and he has been exposed to it since he was a child, and it is easy to find the real reason for the collapse of Datang Buddhism - overexertion.
In the early Tang Dynasty, Mahayana Buddhism was sent to the Central Plains, and the emperor was very happy and ordered the whole country to study it.
There are always many different interpretations and interpretations of Buddhism, but the emperor is bent on promoting the "true scriptures", so the Mahayana Buddhism as understood by the emperor has become the standard, and anyone who does not follow this standard is disrespectful.
In order to curry favor with the emperor, the people below naturally did what he liked.
Then, each generation of emperors had their own "understanding" of Buddhist scriptures, and in the late Tang Dynasty, Buddhist scriptures were full of emperors' annotations and emperors' "perceptions", and the people of the world had to follow this standard.
Dao Ran has read many "Buddhist scripture commentaries" left by the emperors of previous dynasties, most of which expound on the two aspects of "keeping vows" and "compassion".
However, the nature of the Dharma has nothing to do with these two.
True Buddhist practice does not speak of precepts or compassion.
A Buddha is enlightenment, and as long as you can be enlightened, you will be able to attain great freedom, and any state in any place is bliss, and you will not be affected by the outside world.
That's why the Great Freedom Heaven is also a Buddha, because he is also an enlightened being. He is the demon lord, and his divine kingdom is also the Elysium, and he and the Buddha have taken completely different paths, but they have the same path, and there is no essential difference between the two in terms of realm.
Therefore, the Outer Way of Dusting is also a branch of Buddhism, just because people are social animals and their nature tends to be orderly, so most branches of Buddhism take doing good deeds as a criterion.
Those who do good deeds can see more of the various forms of life, and the more they have seen, the easier it will be to become enlightened.
Keeping the vows and compassion are just ways to provide enlightenment to those who have not yet attained enlightenment. When you are able to feel bliss from keeping vows and compassion, then you are not far from enlightenment.
But if you only think about keeping the vows and forget the true purpose of enlightenment, then you will be suffering eternally for yourself. If you only think about compassion and don't know what liberation is, then you will become a.
But the emperors didn't think so, they only saw these two in their eyes, and in the end what was left was not Buddhist scriptures, but apocryphal scriptures.
In the last years of the Tang Dynasty, everyone recited the scriptures, but what they read was the apocryphal scriptures.
Everyone recites Amitabha Buddha on their lips, but in fact, it is for flattery, for glory and wealth, and the power is in their hands.
….
How can a person who recites the Buddha in this way become enlightened and attain positive results?
Until the destruction of the Tang Dynasty, there were only four masters and apprentices who really became Buddhas.
This path has already been proven once, and the trick of playing the state religion will not work.
Dao Ran summed up the process – when mortals lose the ability to think about the Dharma, the Dharma is completely finished.
If Dao Ran did this, it could be expected that the Demon Gate Bodhisattva Tirodatta would do everything he could to make things happen.
This is a real heavenly demon, he wants to distort the Buddhist scriptures, read the crooked scriptures to others, and then use the Dharma to harm people, it is simply not too simple.
The world is so big, how can Dao Ran see it?
Within 10 years, there will be countless Buddhist liars in the world, and then the Dharma will be regarded as a liar again
Plaything.
Eventually, it will evolve into the place where the Tao Ran is, leaving a little spark for Buddhism, but as soon as he leaves the mortal world, the Dharma will be flooded by the surging river, and then decay and disappear.
This kind of endless tug-of-war is absolutely unacceptable.
The idea of returning to the vulgar has never changed, Dao Ran just wants to finish this vote and find a blessed place to live happily in it.
If he can let Buddhism avoid the era of the end of the law, this merit is in hand, and Fahai is not qualified to criticize him.
Now the question is, how can we prevent the Dharma from being distorted by future generations, and how can we ensure that the flame of transmission is not extinguished?
This question is already a bit outlined in Daoran's heart, but it still needs to be practiced.
"Before you died, did the things I gave you to study have any effect?" Daoran asked.
Hearing the four words before he died, Xuan Jizi glared at Dao Ran very unhappily, but still replied, "I only studied half of it at that time, and I have already handed it over to Sister Bai."
Daoran turned his head and looked at Bai Suzhen.
Bai Suzhen thought for a moment, and then asked, "You mean that weird exercise?"
Dao Ran hurriedly asked, "That's right, it's an exercise that can be cultivated by mortals, has it already been designed?"
"The design is well designed, according to the mountain moving recipe as a reference, as long as the effect of strengthening the body, as long as it is combined with the drug tonic, the effect should be very good. It's just that in the end, this exercise can only strengthen people's bodies, and mortals who can't practice are just mortals after all, so what's the use of letting them live a hundred years in good health?"
When Bai Suzhen got these manuscripts, she thought she had read them wrong.
It is really incomprehensible that Dao Ran and Xuan Jizi have spent so much effort to create an exercise for mortals that can only be regarded as better than nothing.
Fortunately, most of the previous work has been completed, and Bai Suzhen only needs to deduce according to the ideas of the two.
In the days when Dao Ran and Xuan Jizi were away, Bai Suzhen studied this exercise when she had nothing to do, and she had already completed the first version.
It's just that the effect of this first version has never been tested.
"Keeping them fit is only the first step, and when they are healthy enough, they have the energy to learn new things.
"If they work all day long, they just want to sleep when it's dark, and no matter how subtle the Dharma is, how can they have time to learn it? The reason why people in the world always like to recite Amitabha Buddha is because this sentence is simple and effortless. Asking them to spend hours reading the sutras is simply not realistic.
"People only think about life when they are idle. The first step in revitalizing the Dharma is to give mortals time to think about what the Dharma is.
"If they only need to work four hours a day to be fed and clothed, and the remaining four hours are used to rest, and finally the remaining four hours are left for themselves, maybe they will become interested in Buddhism without me teaching."
Dao Ran is not ready to take out a big killer like the steam engine, although with his current ability, there is no problem at all in mass-producing the steam engine.
But a sudden increase in productivity will directly destroy the social fabric, and once the steam engine is put into use and a large number of products are produced, who do you sell to? Productivity that does not conform to the social environment will have serious consequences.
Dao Ran now has enough time to change this mortal world step by step.
In addition to this, he has another thing to deal with.
I saw Dao Ran take out a booklet from his long sleeves and say to Xuan Jizi and Bai Suzhen, "This is the information of the enemy that I wrote down in the city of vain death, you say, how can I help them take revenge?"
Xuanjizi looked at the thickness of the booklet and said strangely, "That's it?"
Dao Ran immediately took out the books that could fill an entire shelf and said to Xuan Jizi, "That's the catalog, these are the contents."
Xuan Jizi's eyes widened, how many people do you have to kill?
The little monk is dedicated to returning to the world.
