Chapter 24: The Supplicant
A rough wooden oak table with a compass and charts. There was also a kerosene lamp on the side, the glass cover in its metal grille had been blackened, and the light of the wick was swaying slightly, barely illuminating two meters of things around.
Through the shaky images, Grantin could tell that it was a small cabin. He stretched out his hand, turned the screen around, and finally saw the man sitting at the table with his hands clasped together.
The man's unkempt yellow hair hung down to his shoulders like seaweed, a blue linen shirt, gray trousers, and a red loincloth wrapped around his waist.
It's actually the 'lucky one' Arthur! He was doing vespers.
Arthur in the picture puts his fist to his forehead and prays sincerely:
"You are the ultimate owner of endless destiny, you are the great being, you are the supreme master! I pray for your protection, I pray for your patronage. β
What kind of jubberish prayer is this? In addition to the first sentence, what is the inevitable connection with me, which can also point to me? Grandin wondered.
But when he saw the fruit of Arthur on the branch of the 'Numerology Tree', he probably understood in his heart how he had received his prayer.
The 'Numerology Tree' strengthens the connection between the two, and even if Arthur doesn't know his full honorific name, he can transfer through the 'Numerology Tree'.
It seems that the last amnestics were not successful enough, and he learned something.
But Arthur didn't stay in Beckland well, why did he go to sea to be a sailor again?
Grandin zoomed out of the cabin, out of the deck, and finally into the air.
He saw that on the pitch-black sea, only this three-masted galleon was cleaving the waves. However, the ship's bow, flags, and other identifying objects are blurred in the picture.
My observations were disrupted?
Grandin zoomed in again, and found that it was only around Arthur that his vision became clearer. But once the perspective opened, the ship disappeared in an instant, as if the fog of war had been lifted.
"Arthur, the captain told you to come over."
A crew member entered the cabin, as vague as the ship, and Grandin could barely see a human figure.
"Okay, I'll go right away."
Arthur ended his prayer and turned to follow the crew out of the room.
The image in front of Grandin's eyes began to shake, and he knew it was a reaction when the connection was about to be interrupted.
But Arthur's unsightly sailboat had piqued his curiosity.
He thought for a moment, pointed his finger at the picture, and passed on his answer.
Grandin said in a deep voice:
"Remember my name."
"The witness of thousands of stories, the mysterious master of the Black Lake, the ultimate destination of endless destiny."
Arthur was walking out with the crew, when he suddenly heard something different. It is like the sound of turning the pages of a book, or the sound of leaves swaying when the shadows of a tree are swaying.
Then a low, majestic voice poured into his head.
"Remember my name. Witnesses to thousands of stories......"
Arthur's eyes were red, his knees went limp, and he fell to his knees in the wooden hallway of the cabin. His voice choked, "I will remember your name......"
"Arthur, what's wrong with you?"
The crew, who had led the way in front and couldn't see his face clearly, noticed the anomaly and walked quickly towards Arthur.
Grandin saw things in the picture getting farther and farther away. Then it shuddered, and the two of them lost contact.

Oh no, I haven't had time to remind him not to spread my name at will!
Grandin's outstretched fingers froze in mid-air, but contact had been cut off.
He lowered his arm with a wry expression:
Arthur's reaction was too intense. It seems that this is not the first time he has prayed to me, but it is only today that I have heard from him. β
He rubbed the lines on the armrest of his chair, "Is it because I've been promoted recently?" Does promotion give me more authority? β
But it's certainly not a bad thing to be able to master a new power.
He just wanted to return to reality, but then black ash drifted to his hand.
"It's a lively day."
Grandin, who presumably guessed who had made the call, grabbed Black Ash. Following the method he had just done, he threw it into the black lake again, and the picture was presented on the water.
What appears in the picture this time is Audrey in a white robe. By this time she had draped her golden hair loose, and she had emptied half of the dressing table, and now there was a small altar on it.
She was sitting at the altar with her eyes closed and praying.
The dΓ©cor in the room is graceful and magnificent, and it looks like her bedroom.
Grantin simply glanced at his surroundings and focused more on what Audrey was praying.
"O witness to thousands of stories, you are the mysterious master of the Black Lake......"
"I pray for your favor."
"I pray for a good dream."
Hearing the supplication, Grandin was pleased. Instead of praying for strength, you want to have a good dream? It seems that his students have indeed grown and learned to test first.
Grandin looked at it again and noticed that a yellow ball of light appeared on Audrey's head as she uttered her request. This yellow is a bit darker and more orange.
Grandin, who has had many experiences, knows that this means that Audrey may have insomnia and dreams today. But the glow of orange means that you prefer to have a good night's sleep?
Thinking about it, Audrey heard such exciting news today, and it must be difficult to fall asleep under the excitement..... Speaking of which, this is still its own pot.
But how do I respond to her?
After a moment's thought, Grandin thought of a way to deal with it. He got up and left his chair, crouched down at the root of the 'Numerology Tree', and began to rummage.
Ever since he knew he could upload items to this space, he used it as half a storage space. Audrey's request was not very difficult for him.
He soon found what he needed - a 'Sleeping Charm'.
Grandin returned to his seat and activated the power in the 'Sleep Charm'. This force was channeled into the light above Audrey's head, and the light began to turn red.
It's a gift, so his actions are smooth. After everything was ready, he opened the sacrificial passage. new
Audrey in the bedroom prayed respectfully, but the ritual was unresponsive. She pursed her lips, a little discouraged.
At this moment, an illusory door opened in the center of the altar!
Thin sand as thick as a curtain fell from the door, turning into mysterious symbols as they hit the altar. The symbol is simple, but its light seems to run through the ages.
This is the sacrificial passage!
Audrey was in good spirits and immediately recognized what was in front of her. She hurriedly threw the offering into the door, prayed again, and waited quietly for an answer.
