(9) Assassins

Dali Einfoot sneaked into the Newman family's estate at midnight that day.

He carried with him a standard flintlock pistol and an exquisitely crafted bayonet, both of which his friend Parr had helped him find.

His friend had also carefully prepared a bag of gunpowder and a brand new flint and a small packet of buckshot for him.

Dalí was no stranger to flintlock firearms, and as a child he often hunted in the forests near the family estate, and after various changes, he learned more systematically about shooting in the new barracks of the noble league.

He first replaced the pistol with a new flint to make sure it could spark, then pulled the cork from the powder bag, poured some gunpowder from the barrel, then wrapped a piece of lead bullet in a thin piece of leather, used the loading lever on the pistol to push the projectile into the bottom of the chamber, poured a little gunpowder at the trigger for firing, and finally fastened the cover and put the safety on, and after loading, he only had to open the safety and pull the trigger to shoot.

The sword that Parr had helped him find was so delicate that it looked like a work of art hanging on the wall rather than a practical weapon, with a carved body, a hilt of jade, and two rubies at the ends of the cross gauntlets that were not very good and full of impurities and looked a little dull. Dali tried to bend the blade, but the steel was not bad, but the blade was tough enough to withstand a strong parry, and the blade was sharp enough.

Although Dalí was short and thin, he had concentrated on practicing his family's swordsmanship in his youth, which was more than enough to deal with a layman who did not know anything about it, but it was another thing to face an experienced and cruel and aggressive veteran, so he still tried to use a flintlock pistol to eliminate his enemies, and he would draw his sword as a last resort.

His plan is clear, sneak into the Newman family's manor at night, get as close as possible to the Newman family's head, Siska Newman, and then kill him, leaving it to his fate whether he can escape or not.

The Newman family was originally the feud of the Ainfoot family, and the deaths of Dali's father, mother, and younger brother were also related to him. In addition, Siska also brutally ordered someone to kill Dalí's most trusted old butler, Weis, and Dalí's sister-in-law was also killed by him, and she is still missing.

Under this deep hatred, any pity in the heart is disrespectful to the victim, and Dalí, a short, thin and bookish young man, turns into a cruel and bloodthirsty avenging angel on this night, and he wants to kill Siska with his own hands to complete this blood revenge.

In order to increase the success rate of the assassination, Dalí resisted his anger and tried to remain as calm as possible, and he climbed over the towering iron fence and stalked in the shadows of the courtyard.

Approaching the mansion, he saw an unclosed window, and he could easily approach the target by climbing through the courtyard and climbing into the window.

It's a pity that the infiltration operation did not go well, and the Newman family has many enemies, and they have long been on guard.

A huge hound, chained to a distant sniff of the intruder, barked loudly towards Dalí's hiding place.

Hearing the noise, a bodyguard hired by the Newman family saw a figure sneaking through the grass, the bodyguard stood only a dozen steps away from the target, raised his shotgun, and shouted loudly for the intruder to come out.

Dali had no choice, he had nowhere to run but to fight back.

At this distance, even a flintlock pistol with low accuracy was not difficult to hit the target, and his thirst for revenge made him calm, and he had never hurt anyone, and he did not hesitate to kill someone in such a terrible way.

He got down on one knee and straightened his arm to aim at a target standing not far away, and after the gap in the door and the crosshair were connected, he pulled the trigger decisively.

With a loud bang, the bodyguard was shot in the chest, and he struggled to cover his wound and fell to the ground, crawling forward for a meter, and then never moved again.

(I did it, killing a guy so easily.) )

After the gunshots, the entire Newman Manor was awakened, and the barking of dogs and the shouting of people were loud, and they all approached the place of the incident.

Dalí quickly loaded the second pellet and fired a shot at the first hound that pounced on him, but unfortunately missed this time.

Soon he was bitten by several hounds and could not move, and he drew his sword and stabbed one of the hounds to death, but was soon completely subdued by the people who heard the noise.

Powerful minions and bodyguards tied Dali, splattered in dog blood, to a tree, and the failed assassin was beaten to the ground with a swollen nose and a few loose teeth.

A few minutes later, heavy footsteps were heard, and Siska Newman and several of his men came to check on the captured assassin.

Darley cursed frantically in the face of his enemy, and his actions were met with another beating, this time with a strip of cloth firmly sealed.

The pot-bellied Siska Newman gazed contemptuously at the half-beaten intruder, turned and slowly lit the tobacco leaves in his pipe, turned his back to Dali, and said in an irritating tone:

"Boy, thank you for taking the initiative to send it to the door.

I thought you were dead in that naval battle, and these hounds and bodyguards were meant to deal with my other enemies, but I didn't expect to catch the big fish I wanted the most.

I'm still annoyed that I can't see you die, and your rude brother William took advantage of my absence to provoke my stupid eldest son to go out to duel, and my stupid boy agreed.

This little brute killed my eldest son, he may not be very smart, but after all, my own flesh and blood. For this reason your lowly traitor family must all be buried with him, and only in this way can the hatred in my heart be removed. ”

Siska Newman turned around to find Dalí, covered in blood, staring at him with terrible eyes, and he was so frightened that he almost fell, and then he calmed down, this fierce fellow was firmly bound by several thick hemp ropes, and surrounded by servants and bodyguards, and he was absolutely safe.

He became smug again, thinking about how he could further ignite the other party's anger:

"Oh, by the way, let me tell you a funny thing, your wild sister with a foreign surname would rather die than marry my old relative, I would have liked to have mercy on her as a memorial, but this resisted fiercely and scratched my old relative.

I had to reward her to my subordinates to enjoy, your wild sister is really powerful, more than your kid, she bit her own veins, she would rather die than give in, we can only sell her for wine money. By the way, which kiln did you sell this slut to? ”

A wicked-looking bald bodyguard burst out with an evil laugh, and he replied:

"Master, is it possible that you still want to redeem her and kill her?"

“算了,这娘们是个上等货色,赎回来可要花不少钱,赔本儿的买卖我可不做!”

The wicked and cruel servant and master laughed in unison again.

Dalí felt his blood boil all over his body, and his horrible, bloodshot eyes bulged so much that they almost fell out of their sockets.

Siska Newman looked very proud when he saw that Dali was furious, and he made a gesture for his men to untie the strip of cloth from Dali's mouth.

"Say, traitor boy, how do you want to die, I will give you a good time, I will try my best to meet your requirements before I die, and bury you in your manor afterwards, after all, our two families have been fighting for hundreds of years, and finally I want to give you some care for this traitor, to show the mercy of my Newman family."

Dali Einfoot vigorously spat out his knocked out teeth, and he said viciously:

"Even if I go to hell, I'll find a way to come back and take you, bastard!

My request is the same as what my brother said at the time, I want to duel with you! In my name as the heir to House Einfurt, I demand a duel! ”

The male-looking bald bodyguard snorted and said:

"Look, sir. This kid is mad, and he says something stupid, let me kill him! ”

As he spoke, he drew a short knife that butchers usually used to cut meat, and walked towards Dali.

"Boy, your old butler who got in the way was dealt with by this knife, and now I'm going to use it to give you a ride."

"Wait!" Siska Newman seemed to remember something, he stopped his subordinates with a voice, and sneered at Dali and said:

"You are a bastard of a traitor's family, and what do you say that you are the heir? Your family's property has been confiscated, so let's see what you can inherit? Will you go back to your house and steal the carpet?

Since you have asked for a duel, then I will satisfy you, and your words have reminded me that what your brother has done, I want you to repay it in the same way, so that I can better avenge my son.

Of course I'm not stupid enough to risk my life, I've got good people to send you on your way, and I'll assign an agent to fight you in a duel, not with a gun, but with a sword. I'll let him torment you slowly, boy.

Then you will kneel and beg me to give you a good time! ”
