Some things I want to say (Part II)

Since then, I have had a dream - to write my own line war novel!

I was so excited that I started making a whole list of plans.

Everything about this novel has to fit my personal preferences perfectly

There is no outline, (even the author does not know the ending, and the reader, of course, does not guess.) )

The content must be hardcore (the degree of sophistication of the depiction of war scenes. )

There should be European and American fantasy elements that I love (including some Cthulhu and sword and magic elements)

In terms of the plot, the word sadism is highlighted (I love tragic heroes more than reunions, and I like to immerse myself in that kind of sadness.) )

The emotional expression of the characters must be exaggerated and dramatic. (The specific reasons will be mentioned later)

The appearance of the character must be in line with my aesthetics (I like the image of a tough guy and a fierce woman full of aggression, and I don't like the current little fresh meat and snake spirit face Internet celebrity girl. )

The dialogue must be based on the characteristics of my favorite Shanghai Translation Studio, which is the translation style of old films.

Maybe some young readers don't understand, what is the translation of an old movie translated by a dubbed film? Let me give you two examples:

"Oh my God, Jack! You fool, I'm going to kick your ass with my high heels! ”

"Lance! You stupid groundhog, I'll never let you touch my cake again, I swear to God! ”

Isn't it interesting? This kind of translation tone is my favorite, because it perfectly restores the way of speaking of Europeans and Americans, unlike some overtranslated works, which use the Eastern language to forcibly translate the dialogue of Europeans and Americans, which will seem very inconsistent.

Another important point is that I am very fond of European and American classical theater and modern musicals.

For example, Shakespeare's famous play "King Lear" and modern French-language musicals like "Les Miserables" are my favorites for the dialogue lines and classic singing passages.

You'll find in my novels that the whole book is full of strong, exaggerated emotional expressions, retro stage set style, and a lot of dramatic renderings.

Each dialogue is a hybrid of the translation of the translated film and the drama genre.

(Every line of my dialogue is suitable for reading in a subdued and abrupt European and American dramatic tone, which is actually more in line with Western drama scripts than traditional Western fantasy novels.) )

That's why this book is so unique.

At first glance, you may feel that the emotional aspect is a bit overexerted and the dialogue seems to drag on and out, but these are actually intentional things that make this book unique.

Whether you like my unique style of writing or not,

There is one thing I dare to pat my chest to promise, I am indeed writing with my heart, expressing my favorite things with my heart,

Share these beloved things with everyone to read.

In conclusion, writing this book has been a dream of mine for many years, and I have been happy in the process of writing.

Even though not many people read it, even if it's for my own sake, I'll stick to it!

And before writing this book, I had experienced some minor crises.

For a while, questions often flashed through my brain:

Am I a failure? There are so few friends, a withdrawn personality, and every day he is immersed in his own small circle and is complacent.

But one thing I'm sure of is that I'm by no means a depressed person.

Because I have many hobbies, such as rugby, powerlifting, drama, serious Western fantasy novels, such as old black and white movies, although they are all niche things, I feel very fulfilling, very happy, never bored, never feel like nothing to do.

But the problem remains,

In the eyes of my colleagues, I felt like an alien:

I don't chase stars, I don't brush Weibo, and I rarely post on Moments.

Don't play the glory of kings, don't play the game of chicken,

Don't watch Kuaishou Douyin, don't watch Internet celebrity anchors, don't watch entertainment reality shows,

There is not a single pop song on the phone, it is all electronic music and classic opera.

Every time I go to KTV with my colleagues, I am the most silent person, because I can't sing any of the songs on the jukebox!

Many people have given me the same kind warning:

"Why do you have to be different? Do you think you have a lot of personality? Wake up! You are out of touch with this society! ”

Although I am not happy, I have to admit: "Mine is out of touch with the current popular culture!" ”

But there was one thing that made me angry!

Why do I have to imitate others? Why force yourself to accept what you don't like?

My popularity is very good, and I am a likable character in work and life.

But because I rarely meet people with similar interests, my spare time life is becoming more and more lonely, and the entertainment industry is getting smaller and smaller. ”

So?

What kind of person am I?

A loser immersed in his own world?

Or is it a modern gentleman with low desires?

Maybe it's neither, just a dispensable, invisible person with no sense of existence?

If I die one day, will anyone grieve for me except my parents and loved ones?

These problems have tormented me for a long time, and I often miss work because of them, and I even worry about my mental state for a while.

Thanks to my benefactor, who enlightened me in chaos,

I met Russian lady Tatyana (Татьяна) at the gym,

She was the one who helped me out.

She is a doctor of psychology, proficient in three languages, fluent in Mandarin, working in an international research institution, in her forties, with three lovely children,

188 cm tall, with a devilish S-shaped curve body,

The muscles are solid, and the three major powerlifts are stronger than most men.

Long pale blonde hair, silver-gray eyes,

She has the impeccable appearance of the ancient Slavs, with extremely high eyebrow bones, a flawless nose shape, and thin lips.

It is difficult for ordinary people to look away from her when they see her, both men and women.

(The Empress of my book, Sarantos Midknight, is based on her.) )

Compared with figure and appearance,

More importantly,

She is warm-hearted, helpful and doesn't ask for anything in return.

About a year ago, it was her last month in the country.

After a powerlifting competition held at the gym,

Tatyana and I sat on the yoga mat and rested and chatted for a long time,

I talked about some of my doubts and joked that I was out of touch with the times.

Her answer will last me a lifetime:

"Уильям (my Russian name, equivalent to william in English)

I know where your pain lies,

What you love is not accepted by most people around you,

This makes you feel quite lonely and confused.

It's not your fault, it's because the cultural environment of the world has changed.

It became homogeneous, fast food.

Take my hometown as an example!

Although we in Russia are very poor, the GDP is only equivalent to one province of your Guangdong!

But our culture looks pretty good.

In our Russia, there are many bookstores, the theater industry is quite developed, and even Hollywood stars come to Russia to study theater.

The streets of St. Petersburg are full of big theaters, and the actors on the stage are real actors, not traffic stars.

We have a whole set of theories of drama, and we have followed them very well, and they are still widely circulated. (She was referring to a famous Russian book - Stanislavsky's "The Self-cultivation of Actors")

But these cultural booms are only the surface, and the crisis is hidden in the middle.

Because most of the audiences who buy tickets to watch the drama are middle-aged or elderly people like me. (Similar to the situation of Peking Opera in China)

I found some serious problems,

Many young Russians live only by big data,

I mean, they're not themselves anymore,

Their hearts have been taken away and they no longer have a personality, it's terrible!

These young Russians are more keen to imitate others than to be themselves.

In particular, he likes to imitate entertainment reality shows on TV, and online anchors on YouTube and TWITCH.

Rather than reading books and learning and appreciating art,

They prefer to fill a whole bottle of vodka, go to the woods to find a bear to dance, and then make a video and post it online.

Every reply and like will make them ecstatic.

Slowly, they begin to become insensitive, they don't understand what love is, and they don't understand what hate.

They started skipping classes because they were disgusted with studying, dropped out of school early to become Internet celebrities, and some even began to smoke those terrible things and became completely depraved.

The root of all these tragedies is that these young people have lost themselves, numbly imitated others, and lost the most basic judgment.

Never cared or knew what he really liked, and followed the big data trend like the walking dead.

Ay! What a tragedy!

This is the inevitable result of the rapid development of the human world, art is not like science, it is indeed regressing,

This is a fact that neither you nor I can change,

Sooner or later, the theater will die out, and the theater will be demolished and turned into a high-class residential area.

When I'm dead,

My great-grandchildren and great-granddaughters can only see those classic theatrical sets in museums, and I want to cry when I think about it.

I've been working in your country for five years, and I've met a lot of friends.

You are a very unique existence among them, don't look at me older than you, but I admire you.

Уильям, a lonely person like you, is still tenaciously sticking to his aesthetic and has not been assimilated by big data.

It's really a rarity!

So, in this era of entertainment to death, pompous vanity, insist on being yourself, don't care about those cynicisms, and stick to your aesthetics and ideals.

Although we can't change the world, we should at least stick to our hearts, don't let the world change us easily, and don't compromise until the last resort!

You can't please everyone, and you can't agree with the popular aesthetic, but you must remember not to disappoint those who love you.

Go ahead and update your novel, Уильям, and be sure to finish it, even if it's just one reader.

I feel honored to hear that you used me as a model to write the main character of the book,

But you must describe it truthfully,

I find that your Oriental novels always like to portray women as both thin and combative, such as those promotional pictures of web games, how can thin arms hold such a big knife, that is very unreasonable.

(She started showing me her thick arms, and the calluses on her palms) See? I AM A SLAVIC WOMAN WHO CAN DEADLIFT 180KG, Squat 140KG, Bench Press 120KG, AND POWERLIFT WITH A TOTAL SCORE OF 440KG.

Oh yes, and if you dare to write something nasty in my image, we all live in the same neighborhood, beware of my mother's fist!

(That's when I burst out laughing and thanked her for her free counseling.) )

She said:

Well, I'll admit, to make you feel better, I said something nice with my knowledge of psychology, but so what? You're feeling better now, aren't you?

Уильям, come on to work, keep sticking to your hobby, you will get better and better!

When to travel to St. Petersburg, remember to look for me! I'll give you a freshly grilled black-skinned big riba and make authentic canned stewed beef and beetroot soup, and we'll go to the opera together after eating!
