Chapter 2 Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasty Project
"The archaeological site we supported this time is located in Lajia Village, Guanting Town, Minhe County, Qinghai."
"So it's tentatively named Lajia Ruins."
"According to the carbon 14 detection of the preliminary work team, the formation age of this site should be between 4100 and 4000 years ago!"
"The age is very close to the legendary Xia Dynasty!"
"The appearance of the Lajia site this time is of great importance to the source exploration project of Chinese civilization, which is self-evident!"
On the high-speed train to Haining City, Qinghai, in a carriage rounded by the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Kong Wenjian is passionately encouraging his disciples and archaeologists.
The senior sister sitting next to Chen Han sighed and muttered in a low voice: "Xia Shang Zhou Dynasty Breaking Project, but unfortunately only the Dynasty Breaking Project has been completed." ”
Chen Han also nodded solemnly.
China has always been a country that pays attention to recording history, with systematic and rich historical materials.
Legend has it that during the Yellow Emperor's time, there were historians who were specifically responsible for recording history.
Among the world's civilizations, only China has basically recorded its history of 5,000 years.
However, historical records alone are sometimes not enough to prove that they are all true.
Western scholars, according to their standards, have always believed that China has only a history of more than 3,300 years of civilization.
Even if Chinese scholars disagree, they have not been able to completely prove the error of this view.
Because Western history is very short.
It was only around the Middle Ages that there were credible historical records.
The historical record of the West before the Middle Ages is so full of myths and legends that it is hard to believe.
Therefore, the West pays special attention to the use of archaeological means to discover ancient history, rather than directly opening the history books to understand ancient history like the Chinese people.
As the "swan song of historians" in China, the historical record is supreme among Chinese historians, but it is not worth mentioning in the eyes of many Western scholars.
Just because, there are some quite "metaphysical" things recorded in the historical records.
For example, the ancestor of the Shang Dynasty was "a three-person bath, seeing the Xuanniao fall its eggs, Jian Di swallowed it, because of the pregnancy and birth contract".
The ancestor of the Zhou Dynasty was "a person who saw the traces of giants, and said in his heart that he wanted to practice it, and he moved like a pregnant person when he practiced it".
One of the two was conceived and gave birth after eating the eggs of the "Xuanniao", and the other was conceived and given birth after seeing the footprints of the giant.
Such a record full of myths and legends reminds Western scholars of their own outrageous historical legends, and naturally denies the "Historical Records" as a history of faith.
It's just that the "Historical Records" is mixed with some metaphysical colors for the emperor, which is not enough to completely overturn his more than 500,000-word letter and history records!
It is a pity that this kind of argument even affected Huaxia's own scholars in the era when Western-style thinking became the mainstream in the Republic of China.
Hu Shi, a scholar during the Republic of China, once put forward the thesis that "there is no history of faith above the Eastern Zhou Dynasty".
Hu Shi believes that the Western Zhou, Shang Dynasty, Xia Dynasty, and the Five Emperors era in the history books are unreliable.
Even some well-known historical figures, historical events, etc., may be made up.
After Hu Shi, the ancient history school represented by Gu Jiegang put forward the "layered theory", from doubting ancient classics, to doubting ancient figures, to doubting the entire ancient history system.
At one time, Chinese history was precarious before the Spring and Autumn Period and was not considered true.
It was not until the appearance of Yin Ruins and the appearance of oracle bones that the Shang Dynasty was proved to be truly existent.
A large number of subsequent unearthed ruins of the Eastern and Western Zhou Dynasty have slapped Western scholars in the face with facts.
However, even if the appearance of Yinxu proves that the Xia, Shang and Zhou recorded in the historical records at least the Shang and Zhou did exist, it cannot make Western scholars agree with the 5,000-year view of Chinese history.
To this day, in the history books of many Western countries, it is still believed that China is only 3,300 years old, and there was no country in China before the Shang Dynasty, and no civilization was formed.
Moreover, this "Shang Dynasty" only recognizes the history after the appearance of the oracle bone inscription and the history after the relocation of Pangeng to Yin.
And Pangeng's relocation to Yin was already a matter in the middle and late Shang Dynasty.
In other words, Western scholars only recognized half of the Shang Dynasty!
For nearly a century, China's 5,000-year history has been questioned and not accepted by most Western countries.
As we all know, it has always been more difficult to prove than to falsify, after all, verification requires all kinds of ironclad evidence that is so conclusive that it cannot be challenged, and falsification only needs to be questioned.
This also makes the Chinese people very aggrieved.
Why do we need outsiders to question our own history, and there is no evidence to refute it!
After entering the new century, China gradually became rich and strong, and the high-level opened two super-large-scale and ultra-long-term archaeological projects one after another for the sake of the sense of national honor and pride, as well as for the tracing of the origin of Chinese civilization.
【Archaeological Project of the Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties】
【Chinese Civilization Traceability Project】
The archaeological project of the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties began in 2001 and has been around for 17 years.
The [Xia Shang Anniversary Table] was jointly conquered by 170 scientists, and the exact date of the Xia, Shang and Zhou periods was determined.
It was determined that the first year of the Xia Dynasty was 2070 BC, the first year of the Shang Dynasty was 1600 BC, the first year of Pangeng Qianyin was 1300 BC, and the first year of the Zhou Dynasty was 1046 BC.
However, the ruins and historical relics before Pangeng moved to Yin were basically blank.
In addition to the Yin Ruins, which have been dug up in the twenties of the last century, are enough to prove the ironclad evidence that the Shang Dynasty once existed.
In the past 17 years, Chinese archaeologists have not found any evidence of the existence of the Xia Dynasty.
This is something that every Chinese archaeologist regrets.
The stories of the Xia and Shang periods recorded in the history books, such as Tang Yao Yu Shun, Dayu controlling the water, Xia Qi Liguo, Taikang losing the country, Shaokang Zhongxing, Kong Jia's rebellion, the violent destruction of the country, Wang Hai's bull taming, Yunwang Qinshang, Yi Yin Fang Taijia, the rebellion of the Ninth Dynasty, etc., have not been unearthed without any archaeological evidence.
Whether it is an archaeology student who is still studying in school, or a professional archaeologist who has been engaged in archaeology for many years, there is no one who does not want these Chinese history passed down from generation to generation to become irreproachable irreproachable evidence!
Any archaeologist hopes that he can straighten his waist and proudly announce to the world with evidence buried deep underground for thousands of years that our China has a history of 5,000 years of faith!
In history, there are indeed Yao Shunyu Tang these holy kings, who ignited the light of Chinese civilization and led the ancient ancestors out of ignorance, established the country, and spread civilization!
After every archaeologist joins the field of archaeology and enters the field archaeology, they all hope that they can find evidence of the existence of the Xia Dynasty!
And now the [Lajia Ruins] that have been suddenly discovered.
According to the carbon 14 detection done by the early exploration team, the formation age of the Lajia site is about 2000 BC, which is exactly the period when historians deduce the birth of the Xia Dynasty!
There is a high probability that this site is the ruins of a city-state in the same era as the Xia Dynasty!
Qinghai is located in the upper reaches of the Yellow River, although it is a little far away from the Central Plains, but a site in the same era as the Xia Dynasty, there may be some precious excavations related to the Xia Dynasty!
Although there is little hope, archaeology is a needle in a haystack, and we are constantly working hard for the small probability of 1 in 10,000!
"Hopefully I'll find some heavyweight archaeological discoveries this time." Chen Han leaned his head slightly on the high-speed rail seat, excited and mixed with a bit of anticipation.
"Ding-dong......"
An abrupt voice reappeared in his head.
"New Mission Released!"
"Assist in participating in the archaeological excavation of the Lajia site!"
"Task rewards are evaluated and distributed according to the host's participation and contribution!"
The corners of Chen Han's mouth curled slightly, and he was in a better mood.
One more reason to dig hard!
.............
(Clear-eyed people should see that this is a parallel world, a world where the ruins of the Erli first-class Xia Dynasty have not yet been discovered, and a parallel world where there are hundreds of millions of differences between archaeological development and reality.) )
