Chapter 228 An excavation project that has risen to the level of "national brand".

As for whether the hometown of the Marquis of Haiyang is in the new area of Nanchang, in fact, the evidence of archaeological objects has already appeared.

After the water level of Poyang Lake dropped in 2006, in 2007, the Nanchang and Jiangxi archaeological pairs excavated several ancient tombs in Nanchang.

And on the bamboo slips and tomb bricks in these tombs, the word "sea dusk" has appeared one after another.

First of all, in an ancient tomb of the Eastern Jin Dynasty discovered in September 2007, a cultural relic was found that recorded the identity of the tomb owner, and the identity of the tomb owner was identified as the Qidu Lieutenant of Haiyang County, which was the first physical object found to prove the existence of the ancient city of Haiding.

Immediately after that in December of that year, in a large tomb of the Six Dynasties period, the words "Yuzhang State Haiyang County" appeared on the three tomb bricks at the door of the back room of the ancient tomb.

This shows that the legendary Marquis of Haiyang is located in this basin on the west bank of Poyang Lake.

The tomb of "Haiyang County Riding Captain" caused heated discussions at that time.

Some experts speculate that after Liu He was stripped of the king of Changyi and demoted to the marquis of Haidu, he lived in the ancient city of the Han Dynasty [Zijin City] on the shore of Poyang Lake in the new district of Nanchang, and the saying of "imperial fiefdom" is still circulating in the local area.

And the location of the [Purple City] was quickly determined by archaeologists.

Just to the northeast of the tomb of the Marquis of Dundun Mountain, which is now discovered, after about ten minutes' drive, you can reach a place called Taojia Village.

At the back of Taojia Village, there are some mud walls about two people high in a lush bamboo forest.

After the visit of archaeologists, it can be basically determined that this is the site of the city wall where the loess is piled up.

Even the city gates have been preserved.

According to a local villager surnamed Tao, he knew that there was an ancient city wall behind his home since he was a child, and when he was a child, he played here with his friends in the village.

At that time, it was common to find porcelain tiles and tiles in the ground......

Because it is located in the middle of nowhere, it has never been taken seriously by the government, so it has never been developed.

"The Sword Comes"

Soon after the arrival of the three archaeological teams, the exploration of the city walls was launched.

Experts from the Jiangxi Institute of Archaeology have discovered some very special phenomena in the exploration.

This ancient ruin, which is suspected to be the Purple City, should have two city walls, namely the outer city wall and the inner city wall.

This kind of urban structure will not appear in ordinary county seats.

Only when the princes and princes and kings feud can there be this structure of two city walls.

Because the inner city is the prince's mansion, or the prince's palace!

At that time, ordinary civilians could only move outside the first city wall, and could not enter the core area of the inner city.

In addition, in the location of the inner city, there are also the remains of the foundation of the palace area, indicating that the inner city here was once a large palace area.

The steps into the palace area, the high-rise buildings in the palace area, all have traces of remains!

After discovering the palace area of the inner city, it can basically be determined that the ruins of this ancient city should be the Zijin City, the capital of the Marquis of Haidu.

In the Nanchang region, west of Poyang Lake, there is only one Marquis of Haiyang, which can match this site.

It was determined that the ruins of the Purple City were the old capital of the Marquis of Haidu.

The large tomb with a complete cemetery structure on the squatting mountain at the southwest end of the Purple City is undoubtedly sure that it is the tomb of the Marquis of Haiding!

As soon as this discovery was reported, it caused a sensation in the domestic archaeological community.

Even the archaeological excavation work of the tomb of the Marquis of the Western Han Dynasty in Nanchang, which has just been determined, has been immediately raised to the national level and has been listed as the most important archaeological project in China this year.

Experts and scholars from all over the country were quickly transferred to Nanchang to provide various technical and academic support around this important tomb of liehous!

After being ranked as a "national brand", Chen Han and his group of archaeologists who were actually responsible for excavating this tomb were treated differently immediately.

A large area of prefabricated houses began to be built near Dundun Mountain.

There is almost a 10,000-square-meter cemetery area, and it is necessary to build a protective shed for it according to each exploration.

It can be said that the whole project is aimed at building an archaeological base for long-term archaeology.

In fact, it has to be done.

Because the cemetery of the tomb of the Marquis of Hailun is really too well preserved.

Experts unanimously believe that the capital of the Marquis of Haiyang represented by Zijin City and the tomb area represented by the tomb of Marquis Haihuang of the Western Han Dynasty in Nanchang are the most well-preserved cemetery areas found in China!

Moreover, it is also the site of the settlement of the Hou Kingdom of the Han Dynasty with the clearest layout of the capital of the Hou Kingdom!

This is an important national historical and cultural heritage, and it is the most unique site for studying the history of the Western Han Dynasty!

Although the importance of such a site is not as important as that of Yin Ruins, it is not much inferior to some large tribal sites in the Neolithic period.

This means that the ruins of the Marquis of Haiyang with Zijin City as the center will be an important site base in Jiangxi that needs long-term archaeology.

Just like the Lajia site in Qinghai, tens of thousands of square meters have been excavated so far, but it is still continuing to excavate and establish an archaeological base.

The ruins of the Marquis of Haiding, the city site plus the burial area, and the burial area of commoners and nobles explored around, also have a radius of more than ten square kilometers.

To fully excavate it, it is obviously a long piece of archaeology that will take ten years.

Therefore, some supporting facilities needed for long-term archaeology must be stepped up.

From all over the country, as many as 100 experts and scholars who study the archaeology of the Han Dynasty went to Nanchang to begin exploration and preliminary archaeological work on this large settlement site.

Excavations began simultaneously at the ruins of the Purple City, the cemetery, the nobles and the general burial area.

Thousands of people were involved in this large-scale archaeological project throughout the site.

Of course, the most important of them, the M1 tomb, that is, the tomb of the Marquis of Haiyang on Dundun Mountain, is still a joint archaeological team composed of three archaeological institutes: Jiangxi Institute of Archaeology, Nanchang Institute of Archaeology, and Institute of Archaeology of the Academy of Social Sciences, to carry out archaeological excavations.

But!

In view of the significance of this archaeological discovery, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage soon proposed that Jiangxi's excavation, protection and display work should "represent the first-class archaeological level in today's China, the first-class cultural relics protection level in today's China, and the first-class display level in today's China."

In this regard, after several meetings, the archaeological team decided to take the protection of on-site cultural relics first, on-site safety first, maximize the use of high-tech means to extract and record cultural relics information, and provide scientific and accurate data for the protection and display and utilization of large ruins as the general idea of work.

Therefore, the main tomb of the Marquis of Hailun cannot be opened hastily.

A series of high-tech archaeological equipment must be put in place, waiting for the on-site protection shed and even the cultural relics indoor research room to be erected before the excavation can begin.

As a result, the main burial chamber, which was originally excavated, almost lifted the roof cover, temporarily stopped the excavation work, and waited for the construction site to do safety protection and on-site cultural relics protection.

However, the archaeological team cannot be idle.

The main burial chamber cannot be dug for the time being, which does not mean that the auxiliary tombs other than the M1 tomb and the chariot pit next to it cannot be dug!

Right!

As we intensified the archaeological exploration, next to the burial chamber of Tomb M1, another burial pit was discovered!

Chen Han's speculation that the Marquis of Hailun will be buried with real cars and horses is true!

This is the first time that a high-level tomb with real chariots and horses has been found in the south of the Yangtze River!

One word.

Arrogant!
