Chapter 259: High-grade jade

It took another two days for the piece of cultural relics under the bed in the inner coffin room to be cleaned up.

What is easy to extract is classified and extracted individually.

If it is not easy to extract, it is extracted as a whole and sent to the laboratory for cleaning.

On the whole, most of the cultural relics under this bed are daily utensils used by the tomb owner during his lifetime.

Including tripods, incense burners, eucalyptus tables, lacquer plates, lamps, lacquer boxes and the like.

One of the most special is a large and eye-catching bronze piece!

A lantern!

According to the record of "Emperor Wu's Internal Biography": "The Queen Mother of the West sent an envoy to say that on the seventh day of the seventh month, I should come temporarily, and the emperor will sweep away the palace on the solstice day and burn the lamp of nine lights."

Although the Queen Mother of the West is just a legendary character, the nine-light lamp should be a nine-branch lamp like a tree lamp.

To put it simply, this thing is a human-sized lamp, and then it is divided into several branches, and each branch is a combination lamp of a bean-shaped lamp.

There are nine branches, which are nine branches, and five branches, which are five branches.

And the lantern unearthed in the tomb of Liu He, Marquis of Haiding, is a five-branch lamp.

Unfortunately, due to geological changes, the lamp has been broken, and it has collapsed into a bronze pile instead of standing upright in the inner coffin.

It will take a lot of repair effort to repair it well.

In addition to this lantern, in Liu He's inner coffin room, there are also a large number of exquisite lacquered woodware!

Lacquered woodware, in the Han Dynasty, was a relatively expensive thing, not only expensive, but also only used by people with a more noble status.

By analogy, Mawangdui has only unearthed 184 pieces of lacquered wood.

However, in the tomb of the Marquis of Haiding, more than 1,000 pieces of lacquered wood have been unearthed, many of which are inlaid with gold and silver ornaments.

And that's not all, there are still lacquered wood objects that have not yet been unearthed.

Among them, the most exquisite piece of lacquered wood is a "makeup box" of the Han Dynasty!

This vanity case is called - 奁 (lián)!

The mirror box used by women in ancient times is a dressing box for the ancients to hold the combing hall and fat powder, and most of them are wooden lacquer boxes.

This time, the three sons and lacquer Xi unearthed in the tomb of the Marquis of Nanchang Haiyang have gone through more than 2,000 years, but they are still as exquisite as new.

There are gold-pasted, gold-inlaid, and silver-edged, which is equivalent to the most high-end "dressing box" or "makeup box" in the Han Dynasty.

This three-son is a large round box, which contains three small boxes in the shape of a horseshoe, a rectangle and a circle, all of which have silver buckle craftsmanship and persimmon patterns.

This "makeup box" is naturally not Mrs. Haidinghou's, but Haidu's own!

In the Western Han Dynasty, men and women in the aristocratic class needed to make up, and the requirements for makeup were very high.

In fact, this point is tacit in the East and the West.

Whether it is the East or the West, in the early feudal era, as long as it was a nobleman, both men and women needed to be carefully dressed up, which was called "aristocratic demeanor and temperament".

Not to mention that Chinese men have always had long hair, and compared to the amount of hair, they are not inferior to women, and they need to make up.

Therefore, in the Western Han Dynasty, the nobles were very fond of this kind of novel shape and gorgeous style.

At the same time, this kind of lacquerware system is diverse, unique in shape, and exquisite in workmanship, which also fully represents the level of lacquerware production technology in this period and the aesthetic standards of the Western Han people.

The three sons unearthed from the tomb of the Marquis of Haiyang are specially used to hold dressing utensils.

In the horseshoe-shaped lacquer, archaeologists have found combs and grates (bì), which are clearly numbered and very well preserved.

You know what the comb is for.

The grate is a kind of combing utensil, with a beam in the middle and close teeth on both sides, which is a combing appliance with denser teeth than a comb.

These were apparently all combing tools used to tie the hair.

Except, of course, for these lacquerware.

As a traditional Chinese nobleman.

Jade is naturally indispensable.

Remove those jade bowls, jade ear cups and other practical utensils.

In the inner coffin room of the tomb of the Marquis of Haiding, Chen Han also found a chisele-shaped pendant that can be called the highest level of Hanyu!

On November 20, 2021, Chen Han cleaned up and unearthed a number of jade ornaments on the east side of the main coffin, near the main coffin.

One of the jade pendants is extremely rare!

This palm-sized jade pendant is beautifully made, and it is carved with dragons, tigers and other figures. Lifelike!

Through the shape of this jade pendant, Chen Han speculated that it was a chisele-shaped pendant.

The so-called chise-shaped pendant is actually a kind of jade pendant evolved from the original chisele (she) of the Shang Dynasty, that is, the wrench finger that assists archery in the hand.

The shape of the chisel still maintains the hollow style in the middle, but compared to the simple appearance of the wrench, the chisel is liberated from nature, carved with various patterns, and gradually evolved from a utilitarian tool to an ornament.

In the Western Han Dynasty, most of the chise-shaped pendants are a kind of ornaments, often hung on the waist, commonly known as chicken heart pendants, mostly oval, the upper end is pointed, there is a round hole in the middle, similar to the shape of the chicken heart.

This precious chisel is worn with Longhu ornamentation, which is of high quality and exquisite shape.

In terms of exquisiteness, it is more exquisite than the chisele-shaped pendant unearthed in the tomb of the king of Nanyue!

This kind of high-grade jade pendant is obviously not something that ordinary people can wear.

What's even more amazing is that after sending this jade pendant to be cleaned, this jade pendant that has been sleeping for more than 2,000 years is still shining with a warm luster, and it is still crystal clear.

This is obviously made with the finest jade!

Moreover, there is more than one surprise for the chiseling wearer!

On December 10, 2021, after cleaning, another exquisite jade pendant with dragon and tiger patterns appeared in front of everyone, and it was basically the same as the shape of the chisele-shaped pendant unearthed before.

Chen Han found that the jade pendant cleaned up this time had a golden dragon and tiger bird wind ornament that was clearly visible, but the material was different.

The first piece should be white jade of the coagulated type, and the second piece may be green jade by visual inspection, and it must have been used by high-ranking nobles.

In fact, judging from the excavation of the jade pendant, it belongs to one of the chains of evidence that can prove his identity and point to the identity of his tomb owner.

In the Western Han Dynasty, the princes were not very qualified to use this kind of clotted white jade and green jade made of chisel pendants.

Such a delicate chisel pendant can even be used only at the level of emperors and princes!

In this Western Han Dynasty tomb in Nanchang, such a high-standard jade pendant was found, and it was obvious that the identity of the owner of the tomb was once again pointed to the only possible one.

Liu He, Marquis of Haidu!

Of course, in addition to these two jade pendants, there are many other jade group pendants, which were found in the inner coffin room.

Soon after, another one was unearthed and a jade group was unearthed by the structure of yellow, jade people, jade pipes, etc., this kind of ornament composed of several pieces of jade is very exquisite.

Among them, the jade ornament of the dancer, which is less than the size of a palm, is carved with a woman who is dancing.

She is dressed in Hanfu, her left hand is high above her head, her right hand falls on her waist, her waist is graceful, her body is beautiful, her taste is clear, lifelike, it seems that she will come to a spin in the blink of an eye.

This jade group is a fine jade in terms of material, color and craftsmanship.

And that's not all!

Jade rings inlaid with red agate, decorative bands made of jade, inlaid jade with diamond patterns, and a large number of agate gemstones......

A series of precious jade and gemstone combination utensils have been unearthed one after another, all of which show the identity and status of the tomb owner!
