Chapter 319: A Reunion Spanning Three Thousand Years
The discovery of the bronze statue of the top snake body is a surprise.
Such a complex and exquisite combination not only represents the ultra-high bronze production technology of the ancient Shu people, but also can take modern archaeologists to explore the "myths" and legends of the ancient Shu people.
"Serpentine Face"
When it comes to this, I believe that the first thing that comes to mind in the minds of most Chinese people is Nuwa and Fuxi, the two legendary creation gods in China!
In the inherent impression of the Chinese people, the appearance of Nuwa and Fuxi is the head of a snake body.
The earliest written record of the human head and snake body in China is the "Liezi Yellow Emperor" of the Warring States Period: "The Ku Xi clan, the female concubine clan, the Shennong clan, the Xia Hou clan, the snake body and human face, the bull head and tiger nose, this has the form of inhuman, but has the virtue of the great sage." ”
Ku Xi is Fuxi, Nu Yan is considered Nuwa, Shennong is Shennong, Xia Hou is a line of Dayu, may be the ancestor of Dayu.
What does this mean?
That is to say, these ancestors are all inhuman with a snake body and a human face, a bull's head and a tiger's nose, and this shape is the virtue of the great sage.
By the time of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the image of Fuxi's scaly body and Nuwa's snake body had basically been fixed.
Many unearthed cultural relics from the Eastern Han Dynasty depict Nuwa and Fuxi as snake bodies, holding some strange things in their hands.
Some marketing accounts and self-media also hyped up that the mural of Nuwa and Fuxi was actually expressing the meaning of "DNA double helix", which was the inspiration of aliens to the Chinese people.
These are, of course, unreliable claims.
In fact, the images and myths of Nuwa and Fuxi have evolved many times.
The legend about Nuwa's creation of man was born relatively early, and it should have appeared before the Spring and Autumn Period.
But the refinement of this legend was relatively late.
It was only in the "Huainanzi" of the Western Han Dynasty that the process of Nuwa's creation of human beings was first recorded.
Nuwa did not create people by herself, but everyone helped to build them together, the Yellow Emperor decided the gender, the upper pun installed ears and eyes, and the mulberry forest installed arms, Nuwa can create seventy people in a day!
Then in the Eastern Han Dynasty, the legend evolved again, and the legend of Nuwa kneading soil to create people appeared.
However, what is certain is that at least around the Spring and Autumn Period, the legend of "Nuwa created man" has been formed.
Because there is such a question in "Chu Ci Tianwen": "Nuwa has a body, who can be a craftsman?" ”
In other words, if Nuwa has a body, who created it?
It shows that at that time, the legend of Nuwa creating a man was already a widespread consensus.
So, when can the earliest unearthed cultural relics related to Nuwa be traced?
About six or seven thousand years ago!
The earliest Majiayao culture in the Central Plains, six or seven thousand years ago, found a painting of a human head and a snake body on the pottery, which is considered to be the earliest Nuwa and Fuxi worship!
Now, in the sacrificial pit of the Sanxingdui civilization, a statue with a human head and a snake body with obvious Nuwa worship has also been found, which obviously proves once again the connection between the Sanxingdui civilization and the Chinese civilization in the Central Plains.
Obviously, there is also a myth about Nuwa in the Sanxingdui civilization, so Sanxingdui people will cast such a bronze statue of the top snake body, perhaps it is used for the ritual vessel of the priest Nuwa!
This is another proof that the Central Plains civilization has had a profound impact on the Sanxingdui civilization!
If according to the records in the history books, the ancient Shu people are indeed a country established by the descendants of Zhuan, then as the grandchildren of the Yellow Emperor, they have also been influenced by the Shennong clan.
Then Sanxingdui people have Nuwa worship, that is a very logical thing!
This bronze statue of the top snake body, the whole piece is 1.5 meters high, and it fell sideways in the pit.
Chen Han and Zhuang Yunpeng spent more than two days to completely clean and extract this large bronze artifact, and even with the help of modern scientific and technological equipment, it was transported from the pit and transported to the Sanxingdui Cultural Conservation and Restoration Center.
However, what is unexpected is that after the comparison of the Sanxingdui Cultural Protection and Restoration Center, the bird's foot statue unearthed in the No. 2 pit in 1986 can be combined with it!
And the position of the combination is exactly the position of the "snake tail" that Chen Han thinks.
At the position of the "snake tail", there is actually only half of it, and the lower half can be combined with a bird's foot in Pit 2!
In other words, this figure is not actually a human-headed snake body, but a human-headed bird's feet!
At this moment, Chen Han's original conjecture of his "Nuwa worship" was all in vain.
In the cultural relics protection and restoration center after the "fit" of the utensils, the height of the whole is more than 1.5 meters, the head is in the shape of a statue, the hands are upside down, the body is curled upward, and the feet are in the shape of bird claws, which makes people marvel at the imagination of the ancient Shu people again.
However, the good news is that this discovery also confirms that Pit 2 and Pit 8 were formed at the same time.
Another day later, the Sanxingdui Cultural Conservation and Restoration Center announced that they had successfully matched the newly discovered bronze statue of the top snake body in the No. 8 sacrificial pit with the remnants of the bronze bird's foot statue unearthed in the No. 2 sacrificial pit in 1986.
These two cultural relics, which are located in two sacrificial pits, have finally reunited after 3,000 years of "separation"!
It's a reunion that spans three thousand years!
After that, the Sanxingdui Cultural Preservation and Restoration Center renamed this cultural relic as the statue of the top god with a bird's foot, believing that this precious cultural relic full of imagination can be called the "pinnacle" of Chinese bronze civilization!
Although it is not as high as the bronze sacred tree with a height of 380 centimeters.
However, with a height of 150 centimeters, this bronze vessel is also a rare treasure in the history of Chinese bronze civilization!
Even if it is compared internationally, it is also a world-class treasure.
In the field of bronze civilization, the Chinese civilization is undoubtedly the most splendid civilization!
Whether it is a large bronze tripod weighing thousands of catties, or a bronze sacred tree that is more than three meters high, or the statue of a god with a bird's foot bent in front of him, it is a craft that other bronze civilizations of the same period cannot do!
In other European bronze civilizations of the same period, it was still in the time of primitive knives, swords, small shields, crude animal figures, and human figures.
The Chinese civilization in the far east has been able to use bronze to cast all kinds of large-scale handicrafts.
The bronzes in the eight sacrificial pits found in the Sanxingdui civilization alone add up, and their brilliance, exquisite craftsmanship, and quantity far exceed the amount of bronze cultural relics unearthed by any single bronze civilization in Europe!
And China, which has such a brilliant, mature and developed bronze civilization, actually did not produce civilization before the Shang Dynasty in the eyes of Europeans.
What a ridiculous conclusion is this?
If there was no civilization in China before the Shang Dynasty, how did the merchants, and the Sanxingdui Late Shang period in front of them, develop such a mature and developed bronze craft?
Could it be that aliens suddenly appeared, and then taught such advanced bronze craftsmanship to the Chinese people who were still in the Neolithic period?
And then they suddenly became the pinnacle of the world's bronze civilization?
Is this statement more credible than the fact that the Chinese people had developed a gradual bronze civilization before the Shang Dynasty?
