Chapter 343 Sanxingdui has come to an end

The excavation of Sanxingdui has only just begun.

Although, six new sacrificial pits were discovered.

And the six sacrificial pits have unearthed more than 10,000 pieces (sets) of bronze, gold and jade artifacts related to the sacrificial culture.

However, compared with the ancient Shu civilization, a huge and mysterious country that once ruled the Sichuan Basin more than 3,000 years ago, this cultural relic is simply less than 1% of the civilization.

The results that can be explored in Guanghan have shown that at least one area of more than 12 square kilometers was the capital of the Sanxingdui civilization, or the ancient Shu people.

In such a large piece of land, there are too many unsolved mysteries that are still waiting for archaeologists to discover and explore.

Chen Han and Zhuang Yunpeng, after supporting the excavation of Sanxingdui No. 8 pit for three months, also completed the extraction of all the artifacts in Sanxingdui.

In total, more than 6,000 numbered artifacts were extracted from Pit 8.

The Sanxingdui sacrificial pit has extracted a total of nearly 14,000 numbered cultural relics.

In Pit 8, there are three main categories, gold, bronze and ivory.

There are hundreds of ivory tusks, both complete and mutilated.

There are thousands of bronzes of all kinds, among which more than 70 bronze heads are more special, which exceeds the total number of bronze heads unearthed in No. 1 and No. 2 pits in 1986, which is of great importance for modern people to understand the "appearance" and art of the ancient Shu people.

In addition, the other cultural relics of the No. 8 pit are not much "shocking", nothing more than some special mythical beasts, masks, and common bronze ritual vessels, wine vessels and the like.

The most important "text" has not been discovered, and for Chen Han, this archaeological work can be regarded as a "failure" of archaeology.

Without words, it is difficult to explore the deeper cultural background behind the Sanxingdui civilization, and it is impossible to know the specific historical origin and past of this civilization.

Unlike the "Tomb Group of Zengguo Aristocrats", you can rely on Zhong Dingwen on the bronzes to decipher the identities of these nobles during their lifetimes.

even came up with a genealogy of the monarch of the Zeng (Sui) Kingdom.

For the Sanxingdui civilization, it is not even now certain whether they have anything to do with the silkworm cong, baiguan, yuyu, duyu and other ancient shu regimes recorded in history.

This question is destined to be unanswerable until conclusive documentary evidence is found.

After three months of busy digging in Sanxingdui, all the cultural relics in the No. 8 sacrificial pit were extracted and handed over to the Sanxingdui Cultural Relics Restoration Department.

Chen Han and other archaeological workers supported by the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences have completed the excavation work in Sanxingdui.

The follow-up research work on Sanxingdui culture and cultural relics is taken over by the local Sanxingdui Archaeological Institute.

In the foreseeable next few decades, the Sanxingdui Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology will undertake the study of the Sanxingdui site.

In every excavation season for decades, the archaeological forces in the province and the institute have been organized to carry out field excavation work on the huge land within 12 kilometers of the Sanxingdui site.

It is not until the discovery of the next sacrificial pit, or the ruins of the capital, or even the ruins of the royal palace, or any other important ruin, that the next wave of national attention will be noticed.

Then archaeological forces from all over the country gathered in Sanxingdui again to start a new round of exploration of Sanxingdui civilization.

Until, the entire Sanxingdui site was excavated, until the Chinese people figured out what the origin of this civilization, which lasted from 5,000 years ago to 3,000 years ago, and suddenly perished.

Of course, there is far more than one Sanxingdui site in the Sichuan Basin.

There is also the earliest archaeological culture that can be traced back to the Chengdu Plain - Baodun culture earlier than the Sanxingdui age.

There is also a Twelve Bridges culture that is later than Sanxingdui, including the Twelve Bridges site and the Jinsha site.

There is also a later late Shu culture, which is about the "Enlightened Dynasty" from the late Spring and Autumn Period to the Warring States Period, that is, the Shu State that was finally destroyed by the Qin State.

In the coming decades, Sichuan's local archaeological forces will continue to carry out archaeological excavations around these four large-scale cultural sites.

When we, the descendants, want to try to understand the Shu civilization, we can only get a glimpse of the truth of civilization from the clues of ruins and cultural relics.

Perhaps, 3,000-5,000 years ago, there was such a civilization on the land of China.

It is independent of the Central Plains civilization and has its own unique political structure and religious beliefs, but it continues to communicate and integrate with the Central Plains civilization.

They mastered advanced alchemy techniques and astrological divination abilities.

Like modern people, I like to look at the starry sky in the dead of night, looking at the starry sky and thinking about the relationship between people and the world.

They have an almost obsessive fascination with the sun, moon and stars.

Not only did they create a sacrificial sun wheel and a bronze tree that symbolizes the universe, but they also made a bronze statue of the image of "clairvoyance and ears" that they longed to be.

But I don't know why, their splendid civilization suddenly disappeared in an instant.

On a calm and ordinary day, it suddenly disappeared into the long river of history......

All this fog lies quietly in the depths of the soil of the Sichuan Basin, waiting for future generations to uncover all the truth.

This is a brilliant civilization, and it is also a civilization worthy of reverence.

It is a bright star in our Chinese civilization!

......

After the news report on the results of the Sanxingdui excavation, more than ten days passed.

Chen Han, Zhuang Yunpeng and others ended their Sanxingdui business trip, carrying large bags of luggage and embarking on a flight back to the capital.

As a famous archaeological discovery in the world, being able to participate in the archaeology of Sanxingdui, even if it is only the archaeological work of one of the sacrificial pits, is enough to make an archaeologist proud for a lifetime.

However, they haven't waited long for Chen Han and Zhuang Yunpeng to be proud and happy.

After getting off the plane, before they even had time to put down their luggage, several people were called back to the Institute of Archaeology of the Academy of Social Sciences by Kong Jianwen.

Institute of Archaeology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Xia Shangzhou Archaeological Research Office, Director's Office.

Kong Jianwen held a teapot cup in his hand, and after taking a big sip of strong tea, he said kindly to Chen Han and the others who came back to report on their work:

"Xiao Chen, Xiao Zhuang, you have worked hard!"

Chen Han and Zhuang Yunpeng hurriedly smiled: "It's not hard, it's too late to be happy to be able to participate in the important archaeological excavation work of the country, how can it be hard!" ”

That being said, Chen Han and Zhuang Yunpeng's minds had already run to the clouds.

Generally, after completing an archaeological project, everyone is able to get a few months of rest.

It's not a break, it's just that I returned to the 9-to-5 work environment, and I can sit in the office and write an excavation report or something.

For archaeologists who spend half of the year digging in the construction site, sitting comfortably in the office is already resting.

The two of them were thinking about it right now.

However, Kong Jianwen's next sentence shattered their dreams.

"It's good if it's not hard!"

"Then you pack up and rest for two days."

"Next week, let's follow the big army and set off to Yuhang together!"

Chen Han was stunned.

"Huh?!"

"Yu Hang?!"
