Chapter 43: The Gift

Early in the morning, Linde got up. The first thing he did when he returned to Nott on Christmas Eve the previous night was to visit Mrs. Evelyn at the cemetery, where he stayed until late.

Although he slept late, Linde woke up in the morning. He pulled away the gift from his side, a gift from someone he knew in the wizarding world, though he didn't know who would give him a gift.

Out of the Chinese habits of his previous life, he is not the kind of person who hurriedly opens gifts.

Although the house was very old, the basic heating was still available, so Linde went downstairs in his thin pajamas.

Open the door and cold air rushes in. Lind hurried out and closed the door again.

With a puff of mist coming out of his mouth, there was much less snow in the garden than at Hogwarts, and the sound of the waves could be heard here.

Boom Boom Boom –

Felix's car drove from afar and stopped under the building. Felix stepped down in a deerskin coat and patted him on the pine tree tied to the roof of the car.

Because they were playing in London yesterday, he asked someone to help him get a pine, and he went to get it today.

This pine is about the same height as Felix, so it fits perfectly indoors.

Linde hurried over, and Felix was not surprised that Linde had gotten up so early. After the two chatted, Linde hurriedly urged him to move the tree, after all, he had been cold and panicked outside.

Felix didn't say, "Can't you just use your magic?" At first, Lind was worried that he would ask such a question, but later learned that after he left, Felix had studied the promotional brochure of the wizarding secrecy law that he had obtained at the Leaky Cauldron several times.

Lind said it was helping, but in fact he was only helping Felix take out the pile of Christmas tree decorations that Felix had placed in the back of the car.

Felix was alone, so of course their Christmas was spent in the Linde house.

No sooner had they finished installing the tree than there was a knock on the door, and they knew who it was, and they heard the choir going door-to-door.

After that, they began to be visited by frequent people. Compared with the rest of the Augustan family, Linde and Felix, who were not adopted, are undoubtedly relatives, and Linde still lives in the former home of Madame Evelyn.

So at this time of year, basically a lot of people come here to visit the two of them, and many of them are already working well in other places.

This also caused the two of them to stay in the house and wait for waves of guests.

But that's not bad for Linde, at least most people will bring him Christmas presents.

At this time, Linde could only open the gifts in front of him according to the custom here.

These things include game consoles, books, all kinds of interesting knick-knacks, and so on......

Linde thanked the brothers and sisters one by one and put them aside.

In the evening, Felix and Lind went to one of the best restaurants in town for dinner.

It wasn't until he returned to the house in the evening that he looked at the gifts from the wizarding world.

Lind himself sent it to McGonagall, Flitwick, and Dumbledore, and then the only words of his classmates were Cedric, Jane, and a senior wizard.

Others he felt a little unnecessary.

In the same way, Cedric and Jane also sent him gifts, as did two older wizards, one of whom was a witch who liked children very much, especially Linde's good-looking ones. This person Linde didn't expect the other party to give gifts, so he didn't send gifts at first, but just wrote a greeting card.

The other is the head of the club, and now Professor Flitwick's favorite student at Hogwarts, a boy obsessed with the study of magic, has published several papers in various professional journals, and the response has been good. He admired Linde's talent and answered Linde's questions many times. This man, Linde, sent him a gift.

The rest of the wizards had no other gifts for him.

However, most of the people who have a good relationship with him have sent greeting cards, which can be regarded as a heart. For example, the Harry Potter trio and his roommates, as well as some of the other senior wizards of the Charms Club.

Professor Flitwick and Dumbledore also sent gifts, as well as an unsigned gift that he couldn't tell who had given it.

He first opened two gifts from the Charms Club, one of which contained an assortment of snacks from the witch who loved children.

Then there was another, and inside the gift box were several bundled books, several of which had fallen off.

Linde flipped through it and saw that it was actually the notes of all the spell classes from the first to the sixth grade of the seventh-grade magic maniac, which was a big gift for him. This should not be underestimated for his future development.

After carefully placing the notes, he opened the gift from Jane.

A small blue-ringed octopus pendant, I don't know what it's made of, but it should be some kind of mineral. There's nothing special about it either. It also comes with a greeting card that reads:

Do you dare to eat octopus!

Maybe she thinks the octopus is a disgusting and terrifying creature, Linde thought to herself.

However, he was not in the habit of hanging something on his body, so he put it aside, although this pendant was quite pretty.

Cedric sent him a very new copy of "Practical Spells I.", and Lind now knew that the practical magic series had long ceased to be printed, and it was relatively rare for private owners to hold such a new book, except for those that could be found in various libraries.

So Cedric gave this gift with special care, plus the copy of "Practical Charms III." that he got in the Room of Requirement, and there are two copies of this series.

Professor Flitwick brought himself a packet. It was taught to cast a traceless stretching spell and a solidification spell on it. The purpose of the Solidification Charm is to stabilize a certain spell, and it is a spell that is engraved on many magical items, including broomsticks, robes with self-cleaning abilities, and so on.

It was used here to stabilize the Traceless Stretching Charm for a long time, both of which he hadn't learned yet.

Linde took a look, and the space inside was about the size of three suitcases. It's really a must-have good thing for home travel, killing people and goods, and throwing corpses in the wilderness.

After that, he opened the gift that Professor Dumbledore had given him, and it was supposed to be a book from the outside, so he had some expectations.

But when he opened it, it was not a book, but a flat rectangular box like a book, which did look like a book in appearance.

There was also a note sandwiched on it that read: There's a good thing in it. But you'll have to figure out how to open it yourself.

This old bee likes to do this kind of tuning.

Linde cursed secretly. Then set it aside. It's time to open the gifts, and if you want to study this box, he has to open all the gifts.

Then he reached for the unsigned box.
