Chapter 52: The Ritual
He hadn't heard the song, but he had seen it.
In the book "Mysterious Atlantis", which he threw in the corner of the pool, Bashir Elton was on the white boat, and Theseus once sang this ballad on the boat.
Lind still remembers the original text of the book: "He sang a poem that I did not understand at all, and its tune was so similar to that of the waves and tides on the day we set sail......"
That ballad turned out to be the content of the first chapter of "The Awakening of the Tide", which Linde did not expect, in fact, he had not only seen it, but even "listened" to it.
The second time he read the book, he was completely immersed in the book, and the jumble lines on it gave him a different kind of picture from the book, and in that reading, he vaguely heard the melody.
But he didn't remember, that memory was like an ordinary passer-by on the street, he only knew that he had met, but he didn't remember anything about his appearance or height.
It's the same with this ballad, even if he just wants to hum the melody so easily.
And the whole "Revelation of the Tide", written in fishman script, has nothing else except for lyrics and pictures, no staves, and no Doremi. But it wasn't the hardest part, and he already had some ideas about how to learn the song.
The real trouble is that he has to be qualified to be able to sing this ballad.
Just like learning the Animagus, learning the ballad requires some "rituals".
He also saw the specific rituals of learning Animagus in the Practical Spell III., which roughly were:
First, hold a mandrake leaf in your mouth for a full month (from the full moon to the next full moon). Under no circumstances should the leaves be swallowed or spit out. As soon as the leaves leave the mouth, the whole process starts all over again.
On the second full moon, place the leaf soaked in your own saliva into a small transparent bottle and let it receive pure moonlight (if it happens to be cloudy that night, you will have to find another Mandela leaf to start over). Add a hair of one's own, a silver teaspoon of dew (must be collected from a place where there has been no sunlight or human contact for seven days) and a chrysalis of a ghost-faced moth to a vial that is being exposed to moonlight. Leave the mixture in a quiet, dark place to ensure it is not disturbed by prying eyes until the next storm hits.
While waiting for the storm to come, at sunrise and sunset, do the following: point the tip of your wand at your heart and say the incantation: "Amado, Animo, Animadol, Animagus." ”
The process of waiting for a storm can take weeks, months, or even years. During this time, the transparent bottle must remain completely undisturbed and protected from sunlight. Sunlight pollution will cause the worst mutations.
If you repeat the incantation at sunrise and sunset every day, you will feel another heartbeat the moment the tip of one of the wands touches your chest. Sometimes this heartbeat is stronger than your original heartbeat, and sometimes it is relatively weak.
When lightning strikes in the sky, go to the place where you hide the clear pill bottle. If you do all of the above correctly, you'll notice that some blood-red potions appear in the bottle, about the right amount to drink in one sip.
At this point, you must immediately move to a spacious and safe place to ensure that the transformation process does not cause a disturbance or put yourself in danger. Point the tip of your wand at your heart, say the incantation "Amado, Animo, Animado, Animagus", and drink the potion.
If all goes well, you will feel a strong pain and a fierce double heartbeat. The shape of the animal that you will transform into comes to your mind. You must be fearless, and it is too late to change your attention and escape the conversion you promised.
The first deformation is usually quite uncomfortable and frightening. Clothing and accessories, such as glasses or jewelry, melt into the skin and turn into fur, scales, or sharp claw spikes. Don't resist, don't panic, or you may be dominated by animal instincts and drive yourself to do something stupid, like grabbing a window or rushing to hit a wall.
It wasn't until the real first metamorphosis was successfully completed that the Animagus was learned.
Of course, after practice, it is not as troublesome as the first transformation.
And the ritual of the Sea Singer is much more difficult than being an Animagus.
To be honest, when Linde saw the ritual recorded above, he was really hesitant to learn this spell now. The process of the ritual is very tedious and delicate, and it is extremely demanding, and any wrong step can cause irreparable consequences.
It's like a rocket, incomparably precise, every part of the rocket, the splicing, the purity of the fuel, etc., the weather, orbit, time of the rocket launch, etc. Any step done wrong can be costly.
But if all is well, humans can go to space with a successfully launched rocket.
The same is true of this ritual of the Ocean Singers, if each step is done accurately, then the benefits are enormous.
How big is it?
The preface to The Rising Tide Apocalypse describes the ocean singer as follows:
We have a clear singing voice and an angelic face.
Our strings stir the waves, and our songs drift in the wind.
We manipulate the tides and set up the waves.
The ocean currents are our friends, and the sea breeze is our help.
We don't do magic, we do art.
————————
It's really powerful and awesome to portray. And Linde turned over some of the spells recorded in the subsequent chapters, and it was. All are extremely powerful spells.
This also made Linde itch all the time, of course, absolutely nothing to do with the phrase "angelic face".
So after thinking about it for a while, he decided to complete the ritual of the sea singer as soon as possible.
As long as he successfully completes the ritual of the first chapter, then he can successfully learn to cast all kinds of powerful sea magic in the future.
Speaking of which, Linde was also a little curious about what kind of spells were recorded in the Sea Beast Sacrifice "Abyss Stone Manuscript" and the "Sea Flow Script" of the Naga Clan's Sea Currents as described by Yu San.
Most of the spells of the Ocean Singer are all kinds of spells related to shallow seas, tides, sea breezes, etc., so what about the Sea Currents and Sea Beast Sacrifices!
Where did Yu San go after defeating Garyu back then, he shouldn't have established a new Fishman Dynasty, otherwise the human magic world would definitely know.
And that garyu soul fragment is not at all curious about the current development of the outside world, could it be that he knows?
It's not that Linde didn't pay attention to these problems, but that he can't do it now, so he can only bury it in his heart. He believes that according to his current development, he will definitely be inseparable from the sea, and he has time to find out the truth of these problems.
But his focus now is to continue learning Hogwarts magic and, on top of that, humming the song.
Humming that song is also part of the ritual.
At the same time, it is necessary to start the preparatory work for the ceremony.
The first thing to do is to make your own musical instrument. The lyre is the best choice, and the instrument is also one of the requirements for the Ocean Songer's subsequent spells.
He had some general ideas about the ballad. Actually, it's not that troublesome, but it can be a bit risky.
"Go get that book to Dumbledore." Lind whispered.
"What Brador? Labrador? Can you have dogs in your school? Felix asked suspiciously, he didn't hear very clearly, after all, he was just scolding a stray dog for jaywalking.
