Chapter 111: Boggart
The next day, Lockhart's summons finally came to the two of them. After he pretended to be a lesson, a total of 20 college points were deducted from the two.
And Professor McGonagall was watching. Lockhart said Professor McGonagall was talking to him about the Transfiguration.
If it weren't for Professor McGonagall, Lind would probably have continued to skip class, and the big deal would have been deducted points. But when Professor McGonagall began to meddle in the matter, Lind broke off the idea.
McGonagall, as management, would not allow Linde's line of thought to continue to grow in the school.
Feeling helpless in wasting his time, Linde took several more Defence Against the Dark Arts lessons, and eventually he turned from helplessness to despair.
Lockhart really doesn't have any level at all. It's not even as good as Quirrell. But he also likes to put on a show of prestige, and does not allow Linde to read other books in his class.
Thankfully, Professor Snape was going to teach him something new. Due to a course adjustment, his Occlumency class was moved to Sunday evening......
Snape took small steps back and forth at the table, looking at Lind with a smug smile on his face, "As I said before, it won't invade your brain, so I've got some good stuff to help you with your Occlumency." ”
With that, he took out a small box from under the table and put it on the table. The box shook violently, as if something was struggling to get out of it.
Snape whispered. "A boggart, I don't really want you to ask what it is!"
"I know, Professor!" Lind nodded.
The Boggart is a magical creature with no concrete form. It prefers dark, enclosed spaces and hides itself in them when no one is around.
It is not until we pass by that it takes on whatever image it thinks scares us the most.
Somewhat similar to Schrödinger's cat. Before you open the chest, it's a creature with no concrete form.
Scary – that's how it works.
But it's a bit lacking to say that, and the simple word "most feared" seems to be a bit underdescribed.
It should be said that a creature like Boggart will completely reveal the deepest and most unacceptable fear in a person's heart.
And this product, the older the person, the more difficult it is.
If there is no funny anti-spell. We put a child and an adult in front of Boggart. Adults must be the first to break down.
Like Hermione and Snape.
As it seems to have been described in the books, Hermione confronted Boggart and saw Professor McGonagall saying that she had failed every subject.
Oh, it's terrifying! After all, this is what a child fears the most.
If it was Snape, what would he see?
Will he see Lily's body? Or is it the mud-spitting self? Who knows.
What you can know is that this is worse than killing him.
What if it's Dumbledore? What will he see?
Is it the death of sister Ariana? Or the disappointed, lifeless look back he had at himself when he sent Grindelwald to prison.
The older you get, the more things you experience. For adults, there are many things they fear that are far beyond their own lives.
Linde, for his part, was not willing to face such a creature either. It would be embarrassing if a Professor Dumbledore came out. But he didn't have a choice. Snape thanked him for not looking at him.
Seeing that Lind was fine, Snape opened the small box at once.
The silky black mist slowly floated out of it, and regrouped into a teenager.
He has blond hair, a thin body, and a black robe with gold silk. He was standing across from Linde, who seemed to see himself looking in the mirror.
He opened his mouth slightly, a smug look on his face.
"I killed it!"
Linde's eyes were red, and he basically squeezed out of his throat and said, "You ......"
The ground suddenly became wet, and several tentacles emerged from it like bayonets, overturning Snape's desk, and slashing or stabbing at the Boggart in front of Linde. Before Snape could react, he hurriedly drew his wand, but was slammed into the overturned table again.
The tentacles twitched over its body, blowing a large black mist, but the Linde it turned into was not affected at all, and continued to say proudly, "I killed Lady Evelyn!" ”
"Shut your mouth!" Linde's eyes were red, and he looked at it without emotion, and his heart was extremely calm. This calmness is a sign that the entire nerve is stretched to the extreme.
Stretching out the fin of the alienated palm and holding it forward, the Boggart seemed to be invisibly suppressed. The whole body began to crumble, but it did not return to the dark corners. Instead, it gradually closes in the middle.
Lindh had no idea what she was doing now, just following that extreme instinct of rage. He beckoned, and the Boggart was condensed into a black bead.
The tentacles of the chin gently grasped the bead and put it in its mouth, then crushed it. Finally, he swallowed it into his belly.
Grunt~
Snape stood to the sidelines, his features frantically shocking.
The walls seemed to have turned into the skin of some kind of animal, and within them there were some biological structures that looked like huge blood vessels, but in these pipes flowed ugly creatures of different forms, swimming wildly in them, tearing at each other.
And not only that, but on the walls, ceilings, and so on, dense eyes appeared, and they all looked at him in the room without emotion.
And the tentacles that writhed wildly on the ground. Standing in the tentacles was a monster-like Linde who was sitting and swallowing.
His ears heard all sorts of harsh and unpleasant sounds, as if someone was holding a steel brush and brushing back and forth frantically in his cerebral cortex.
A strong salty smell came from the nose.
And that's just the appearance. He could feel the scene from his ears, nose and mouth, sending him an unknown energy trying to invade his brain.
Luckily, he can do Occlumency.
After swallowing, Linde glanced around, looking at the rooms that had been completely changed.
Feeling the thread of magic in the dark, Linde was like a fisherman who fished, and collected the magic that escaped from it. The walls slowly returned to normal, and the tentacles on the ground began to retract.
At the same time, Linde is slowly returning to normal.
"I'm sorry, Professor. Ruined teaching aids! Linde said lightly. Then he added, with a somewhat uncomfortable face, "I didn't expect it to turn out like this." It was beyond my expectations. Otherwise...... I would refuse. It doesn't matter if I'm going to deal with Boggart's spell or not. I'm going to reject it. ”
"I didn't expect that it would have been just said to give you a sense of oppression that your brain has been invaded. It makes you feel the presence of your subconscious. Snape was also ugly.
"I'll tell you the basic mantra first, and you can practice it yourself." Snape said lightly, in the current state, it is impossible to continue teaching.
Linde nodded faintly, but the words that Boggart had just said echoed in his head.
"I killed Evelyn!"
