Chapter 242: Night in the Far East
Yuri's mother's room has a lot of books. I did a cursory flip through it, and almost all of them are world classics. I picked out a copy of Turgenev's "Hunter's Notes" and read it on the sofa in the living room. I don't know how long later, the door to the study opened, and Yuri walked out, and said with a smile:
- "Linna, haven't we talked for too long, I'm sorry to snub you!" ”
- "Where?" It is rare to have such free time to visit Turgenev. I've always fantasized about living that life: being able to bake the fireplace and read the world's famous books while drinking tea. I replied with a smile.
At this time Sergei also came out of the study, and Yuri looked at him and smiled and said:
- "Lina is Lina, right?" Seryosha! ”
- "Uh-huh! Sergey replied with a smile.
Yuri was cooking, and Sergey and I both applied for help.
Yuri asked me, what will you do Linna? I said, I'll make a salad!
I tossed a large plate of salad with cucumbers, corn, green beans, potatoes and sausages.
Yuri opened two cans of military beef and boiled them with potatoes and carrots. He said that it was invented by his wife, and he thought it tasted good, so he invited us to try it today.
For the first time, I heard Yuri mention his family. To be honest, I never cared much about the family ties of my foreign colleagues. I know Katya best, and I didn't ask about it, but Katya took the initiative to tell me.
As for Sergey, I have never heard a word from him about his family.
And this Yuri's words and deeds can't help but say that it makes me feel a little incredible.
We're busy in the kitchen together. Russian meals aren't complicated, so I can't tell if Yuri is good at cooking, but he doesn't seem to be very new to the kitchen.
Sergei was worse than me in the kitchen, and I saw him standing there, barely knowing what he could do except open cans and bottles!
Dinner was ready, and in addition to Yuri's special potato and beef stew, my large plate of salad, there were some Baikal grilled fish, pickled cucumbers, cured pork, butter, bread, and a few military cans that Sergey had opened that I didn't even see the name of.
Yuri took out a bottle of "Sminov" brand vodka and said with some shame:
- "The food store in town has this, I didn't expect you to come, I have a bottle here...... Linna, will you have a glass of red wine tomorrow? ”
I took away the glass Yuri had put in front of me and said with a smile:
- "Don't say any red wine, white wine, let me drink anything is a punishment!" I'm sympathetic to you guys drinking as much as you want...... But I'm not going to suffer with you! ”
Yuri looked at Sergei, who smiled and nodded at him and said:
- "That's true! Lena is an atheist nun! ”
- "Hehe......" Yuri smiled and poured wine for Sergei.
They began to talk about their drinking experiences, and then about the daunting climate of the Far East......
I knew they wouldn't be talking about anything private with me there, but I had a lot of questions.
Peter said that Yuri was in Khorinsk last week. What is he doing here? Is it to meet Sergey? This obviously doesn't make sense!
Of course, it wasn't to take care of his father's funeral. According to Peter, his father must have died two years ago.
He's here for a vacation? Yourself? What about his wife? Why invite Sergei on vacation?
Also, how much is Yuri involved in our company's business? I don't know about any of that.
However, how much of the warehouse that went wrong should have something to do with him, was he implicated because of this? If he wants to solve the problem with our company, then he can consult with Sergei, why did he call me too?
From Yuri's performance, it seems that he is trying to get closer to us, but why is that? Should he distance himself from us?
Thinking of this, I thought I should not masochize myself to imagine what those aliens were doing, and although my mind was full of questions, I didn't know how to ask.
