Chapter 294: Ice Cream in Gum

Walking out of Red Square, I arrived at the National Department Store "Gum".

In the past, I used to hang out here with Andrei or friends.

The ice cream in "Gum" is also a delicacy that I will never let go of every time I interview Red Square.

I love Russian ice cream.

Some people say that Russian ice cream is not ice cream but frozen cream, and this may be true. In short, even in the middle of winter, you can see people eating ice cream on the streets everywhere. Maybe it's because of the extremely high amount of cream. Even in winter, Russian ice cream hardly tastes cold, but is particularly sweet and lubricating. Probably due to the high calorie content, there will not be that particularly cold feeling in the stomach when eating, but there is a unique feeling of fullness.

It is said that Russian ice cream is very strict in terms of production process and quality, completely made of fresh milk, with plenty of materials, without adding any preservatives and vegetable fats, so the milky taste of each ice cream is full, because it retains various nutrients required by the human body, therefore, the nutritional value is also very high.

Entering the lobby of the mall, there is an ice cream kiosk in the center of the first floor.

It is said to be the only kiosk in the world where you can queue up to buy ice cream all year round.

As I lined up, I figured out what flavor of ice cream I wanted to eat today.

Suddenly, a familiar burst of Chinese caught my eye.

A group of Chinese tourists, led by a guide, also came here to buy ice cream. In the crowd, I saw a familiar figure in Russia - it was Jingjing!

The unexpected encounter made Jingjing and I very happy.

Jingjing told me that she came with a team from a friend's travel company.

Nowadays, domestic outbound tourism is starting to heat up, and Russia is a great attraction for Chinese tourists. This time, she just wanted to investigate the tourism resources here.

In the past few days, her itinerary in Russia and the feelings of fellow tourists have made her more and more confident in developing Russian tourist routes.

Jingjing and I sat in the elegant lounge of the mall, savoring delicious ice cream.

Looking at the classical and luxurious shopping mall, Jingjing sighed to me, the strong exotic atmosphere here. She told me that tourists love Gum. She also wanted to learn more about this world-famous shopping mall.

Gum is the abbreviation of the Russian word for "State Moscow Department Store". One of the largest department stores in Europe, the building has a very European classical style.

The mall is divided into three floors and appears in the form of specialty stores. There are porcelain, handicrafts, clothing, department stores and other goods with Russian characteristics, as well as a dazzling array of imported goods.

In fact, in many cities in Eastern Europe, you will find many shopping malls and department stores called "Gum". However, none of these shops can compare with the original ancestor of Moscow's Red Square.

It's a legendary shopping mall that, after a century, is still as beloved by consumers as it was in the beginning. If you travel to Moscow, make this a must-visit for you.

At GUM, you can buy almost anything you can think of. Everything from clothes and accessories to watches and jewelry, beauty products and cosmetics, food and beverages, books and toys, and everyday home essentials.

In this shopping mall, you can watch a movie in the beautifully decorated cinema, buy supplies at the pharmacy, take care of your banking, buy flowers or treat your children to the kids' club.

Of course, if you're looking for a leisurely refreshment or a snack to grab while strolling, you'll find a wide variety of cafés and restaurants – many of which offer elegant views over the picturesque Red Square.

One of the main reasons why GUM welcomes more than 60,000 visitors a day is the wide range of world-renowned luxury brands, including fashion-leading apparel and accessories, beauty and cosmetics, watches and jewelry.

Discover the latest collections from brands such as Burberry, Dior, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Max Mara, or shop for new watches or sparkling jewellery from brands such as Audemars Piguet, Bulgari, Piaget, Van Cleef & Arpels or Tiffany.

Many of the world's most famous brands have flagship stores here, proving the importance of GUM's place in the world of luxury shopping in Russia.

In addition to the exceptional quality and number of brands, GUM's appeal is reflected in the attentive customer service, which makes people come back for more.

More than 2,000 employees are dedicated to ensuring that your shopping experience is as enjoyable and personalized as possible. Guests will be amazed by the attention to detail that goes into every special detail, including luxury gift wrapping, valet parking, cumulative spending incentives, and even a historic lavish lavatory.

To me, the Gums department store seems more like a place to relax and rest. I love ordering a cup of coffee at the café here, or treating myself to a traditional ice cream as I do now. While looking at people from all over the world, I felt a connection between myself and the world.

Jingjing listened to my words and looked very approving of me.

She said that although she didn't know as much about Moscow as I did, she also felt that Moscow was a place with too many miracles, and it was an extremely romantic city.
